The Daily Show with Hasan Minhaj NEEDS to happen. This needs to be a permanent thing. Hasan is the only man who can ever fill the seat that Jon and Trevor have vacated. This could be just as big as Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. PLEASE, make this happen!!!

Hasan Minhaj is the chosen one fam, he has the delivery and prose to be the host. Clever, witty, excellent writing and showmanship! Hes the comedic talent that should host the Daily Show! Hands down!
And this is why Hasan Minhaj was always my favorite correspondent (loved Patriot Act too!)....he's smart, quick on his feet, and straight up hilarious. I can't wait for this week of the Daily Show!!!!!!

Wooow. That was legit impressive. I wouldn't think that was an audition just based on how natural Hasan seemed. I bet that first laugh from Jon felt good
His specialty is that he's very effective at making analogies between current events and pop culture. There aren't many roles in the entertainment industry that can bring out that specific comedic ability outside of hosting a television program like The Daily Show or The Patriot Act.
Right he’s always had that ability that both Jon and Colbert had/have at the desk. No other host will be even close to as good as Hassan, those first rehearsals are better than just about any other correspondent dialogue I’ve seen. He’s pretty much Colbert level when he was a correspondent. He’s just so organic, knowledgeable, and quick on his feet.
Hasan getting Jon to laugh out loud, pure gold. The ability to think on your feet, on the fly, but based on good research and an intellectual astuteness really does help the rest of us get through the ugly. 🐑🐑🇳🇿🇳🇿NZ

What a special person. I’ve literally only seen one other person kill their audition like that and it was James Roday from psych. Both born to do this.

Netflix makes the most ass decisions. A season of PA probably cost less than a day of Adam Sandler on set.

Patriot Act was my favorite political comedy show, and I love The Daily Show and Last Week Tonight. Netflix should also not have cancelled The Break with Michelle Wolf.

@@deshwitat_2 Not really, Netflix had to pull just that one episode in Saudi Arabia and that was a year before the show's cancelation. Patriot Act was just another casualty of Netflix's mass cancelations they've done the last few years to save money and few shows get more than 1 or 2 seasons anyway.
Those audition tapes were impressive and hilarious. I remember feeling connected to your perspective right away and I think it helped people relate to Muslim people. No wonder you got the job and came this far

The patriot act helped me become the person I am today. I grew up pretty right wing and never really examined the why behind a lot of my beliefs. His ability to bring people into his world and educate, inspire, and sometimes inspire tears is world class. This should be his gig. There’s none better suited to picking of the torch!

I hope he can bring some of the energy he brought to Patriot Act. I love his show, and was so disappointed that it didn't go beyond two seasons.
But it did, PA had a full 6 season run. I don't know if it's Netflix in your region, but I've seen atleast 6 seasons, with the 6th being the covid version.

You broke my heart talking about those who said that they didn't hate you but still voted for the winner,and your reply was along the lines of "you don't care about me." Then you broke further talking about your mom being out of the country and wondering if she'd get back...and had me on the floor laughing when you finished along the lines of "because she still owes me $25."

I came across his show on Netflix, not even knowing who he was frankly. The autoplay went and I got hooked in. I think I binged all the seasons in like a few weeks. I was sad to see it either isn't coming back or was delayed greatly because of covid because it brought me back to that old Daily Show energy I grew up with.

Many established comedians can be funny. But what both Jon and Trevor were able to do wasn’t just the funny bits. They were able to give us cathartic release when processing the heartbreaking stuff that is happening way too often these days. They could comfort and help us feel like we weren’t facing this s#it alone. I think Hassan has what it takes to bring that sort of depth and gravitas along with the comedic chops necessary for the job.

I’m not gonna even lie, I’d love to see Hassan be the host of the daily show….and not for just a week. I think you would be a perfect fit for it, sir. You have a ton of topics that you can easily talk about, can obviously just spit fire of the top of your head and you are good with people. Not sure how your real interviewing skills go but you’re a naturally outgoing speaker, so I’m sure that would be quite easy for you too. Honestly, who else would be a better candidate or, at least, competition for that spot??

Netflix cancelled him because he kept attacking their emerging markets (Saudi, India, China). Like a true old-school comedian, no one was safe from criticism. He is one of the few comedians who cannot be bought, unlike the shills on Late Night TV. He is the closest thing in comedy to George Carlin.
Carlin? Really? He is nothing like Carlin. He does some good stuff and has his own vibe. But at best he's Carlins millionaire trust fund, private education recieving kid trying to carry on grand pappies flag with none of the authentic life experience, artistry, or balls. He is not about that life. Can we stop dumbing down the greats. Let him be him. I agree that Hasan distinguishes himself against some of his peers but the truth is the bar has been set lower and lower every year since his (generations) passing.

A week followed by hundreds more, I hope - though I still am big mad about The Patriate Act being gone - which actually let you go after institutions with more teeth than the Daily Show would give. You are perfect - I have no notes. Also one of my favourite things is you and Tan French talking the exquisite heads of hair both you have. Both of you are toooooo pretty.
Honestly I hope comedy central decides to just pick up the patriot act to follow the daily show nightly. Or give him a 1 hr weekly slot. The patriot act was freaking Amazing.
@@afreaknamedallie1707 Yes - I would rather him have the freedom and irreverent brilliance of Patriot Act - in a later time slot then get the expectations of something he has outgrown. I also didn't want Craig Ferguson to move into Letterman's spot because he would be so muzzled that his brilliance would be lost. Colbert doesn't have the edge he did before because of his network and time slot. Hassan should not be domesticated like this - he made something amazing and it should roar back - good hair and all - he could have something iconic and his own like John Olive -- but her kind of already did. Netflix cancels everything popular when they don't want to pay their talent their worth.

The problem is that we (non-Indian people) may not pronounce it exactly how it should be pronounced even after being told how to and trying many times. My husband is Iranian and his name is Farid but after 17 years my mother in law still says I say it wrong 😂 I can't hear the difference in how she says it and trust me I've tried.
@Joanna SR I feel you. I was born in the states and don't have an Indian accent at all. Sometime even I can't pronounce names of certain family members. It's tough.

The show takes the form of whoever is behind that desk. Yeesssss. That’s why I wish they gave more time to each of these guest hosts because you really can’t settle in and out yourself into the show in a way that accurately comes across to the audience in only a week!
