  • 1. Practice meditation. Objectively observe the mind. (Learn the structure of your web of thoughts, then choose which path to go down. 2. Restrain your mental intake. Carefully feed your mind with selected input. Choose what you feed your mind!

    • Does that mean after i mastered to concentrate on my breathing, I should concentrate on 1 thought? For example "what is my goal in 5 years?" And then I am just focusing on that, following this thought, speaking with myself (in thoughts) and getting to a conclusion ? I am not quite sure if I understood it the right way. I tried meditation few weeks ago and I was like "5 minutes would be great" but it was 25 minutes. I was not focusing on breathing, i just "talked" with myself and watched where it leads me. I don't know if this was "right"?

    • @@MrJoon360 If negative thoughts affect your internal health visit a psychologist. Heal yourself. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety-stress. For a relaxed life sit on a chair, back erect, hands on lap with palms upwards, eyes closed, be still and observe your natural incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 10-15 minutes. Many thoughts will come which is ok--slowly your mind will relax. During your daily activity keep observing your breath consciously. Best part is mood swings also reduce. Do the above meditation daily to feel relaxed. For more healing enter the following on google search and listen before sleep repeating the affirmations in your mind for 10 minutes. -“528 Hz affirmations for health and healing you tube”. • Well at least while using social media it in the safety of a home or office in a high rise building with 2 sets of double doors that no intruder could get through then when someone starts harassing you online at first by looking you over often and then inappropriate propositions you then you can still get away while yelling at them and not worry one bit about them following you later in an attempt to make you pay for not worshiping them there as another one of their moral inferiors too. Not nearly as easy when a complete stranger does the same while you are only trying to walk home.

Instead i believe hes come to understand to be a lot more SELECTIVE as to what he believes from his own thoughts. i noticed this and found it pertinent to address hope this helps PEACE!!!

Keep your thoughts from wandering to a negativity by reading good books or doing a job that you love, and rendering services to others and that's how you fill your mind with positivity, which in turn balance your life, but negative thoughts will always be tempting you, no matter what you do to keep them at bay.

I find it truly incredible how Albert Hobohm describes this mechanism so accurate and understandable for anyone who's new to this idea of living. I really hope this kind of information reaches more audience, because I deeply believe it can change lifes (in just 15 minutes). The more you study the more change u see happening in your life, but still so many have no clue how powerful their thoughts really are. Ive been studying for 5yrs and still learning and trying to stay mindful of my thoughts, especially anxiety it consumes me sometimes but I see it getting better the more knowledge I gain on the power of thoughts. Lots of great teachers out there but most of it's online. We need to try an reach those who maby don't have access to the Internet, ppl who are homeless or might not have interest or know how to find these videos ect.. we need to find other ways to reach more ppl outside of digital resources. I've asked several ppl threw the yrs if they know what mindfulness is or law of attraction and most say no. I think if more believed then just maby there wouldn't be so much crime, bullying hate in this world.

    • Riley Graham, I'm Autistic so I have some overlaps with your ADHD. I always were having obsessive thoughts and was torturing me. Not long ago I began Tai Chi and meditation. I imagine sitting still is a difficulty you may have, sit in a dark room, put some peaceful music on, close your eyes and try to remain on your present thoughts and question your thoughts looking for patterns. If you can develop presentness and accept everything is connected you'll be more resistant to addictive activities. Restrain yourself as much as you can from one activity at a time and replace it with something better, anything we do with repetition we end up doing without even thinking, people get out and in bed repetitively, do you need to think of how to get out and in bed or do you do it without thinking? Reducing the repetition is the way to stopping, when we stop practicing something we begin to forget or lose interest, go step by step, don't take leaps and be patient with your progress.

From there I took the overnight train and emerged in Bangkok. The busyness that had so recently been "normal" was overwhelmingly chaotic. I noticed it all without getting caught up in it! • I am under the impression that the purpose of Buddhist meditation is not to change or choose different thoughts, but to realise that thoughts are not 'me' and that the spaces inbetween thoughts are what is of interest and where something enlightening might be observed. Not the thoughts themselves. While it seems true that modern people are unhealthily distracted by ipads, social media etc, there is much more to Buddhist philosophy than is reflected here which has taken one aspect and distorted it out of context.

I want to evolve and get away from destructive habits. I erased my KZhead channels and I’m trying to take a break right now because at this present moment it’s the only thing I can do to keep my thoughts from hurting others. I’m out of balance and addicted to mental patterns. This is gonna be a process to detach and change habits.
