Sunny 1805: amzn.to/2KC5aDM ($599, in stock?)
Echelon bike: amzn.to/3hqTwYj ($499, sold out)
Both the Sunny sf-b1805 and echelon connect sport (aka echelon connect ex-15) are priced about the same, and each bike has it's unique pros and cons. In this video we dive in and explore the similarities and differences between the $500 Echelon connect sport from walmart or amazon and compare it to the slightly more expensive $600 Sunny bike model 1805. In a sense this video is a simultaneous Sunny sf-b1805 review and walmart or amazon echelon connect sport review, but I do have more in depth, concise, and thorough reviews on each of these bikes on my channel.
For starters both of these popular peloton alternative bikes are belt drive and magnetic resistance, but the drive train feel on each bike is significantly different due to the flywheel weight on the echelon connect sport compared to the Sunny sf-b1805. The echelon connect flywheel weight is only 15.4 lbs where as the Sunny sf-b1805 has a flywheel weight of 44 lbs, which is more than the peloton bike plus itself and the
echelon connect sport indoor cycling exercise bike.
The echelon bike has the sunny bike beat out of the box in terms of metrics displayed in the stock form. On the echelon connect bike from walmart all you need to do is connect your smart phone and you can download the echelon app and get your metrics for free, you don't get the rides unless you a member though.
On the sunny bike 1805 model you need to attach additional hardware if you want your metrics such as cadence or power output. For some people this may be a big deal since it costs extra money on a bike that's already $100 more out of the gate.
One benefit to the Sunny sf-b1805 is the bike has no electronics so you aren't dependent on any electronics working, or hooking up any power cords to get the full experience of the sunny bike after you assemble it.
I hope this video helps inform you about the Sunny bike model 1805, I will be doing more Sunny sf-b1805 reviews and comparison videos soon.
Both the echelon connect sport indoor cycling exercise bike and sunny bike are good bikes, but both offer different benefits.

  • I love your videos! Thank you so much for the honest reviews and comparisons! They are very helpful in defining what I want in an indoor bike. Which would you choose between the Joroto x2 and Sunny 1805? I've read some amazon reviews stating the the Joroto belt starts to flake and makes a grinding sound after a week or two. Makes me nervous to buy one. Have you been riding your Joroto since your review videos? Thank you for all your help!

  • Thank you. This is the comparison I've been waiting for because initially I wanted the Echelon Sport. However, I'm glad I bought the 1805. I don't worry about cadence and output because I've always rode by matching pace with the instructor so I do that well enough to get a great workout. Also I follow more KZhead instructors than Peloton so not having the cadence and resistance is no big deal. One thing I really like about the 1805 is you can get a workout with no resistance just by the weight of the flywheel. The 1st 1805 (replaced due to issues with pedals and crank) I also thought I had issues with lack of resistance on high end and I emailed Sunny. They emailed me back and there is a way to adjust the resistance to intensify it. No need on the replacement bike. Thanks for setting my mind at ease on whether I chose wisely with the 1805. I think I did.

    • @@stuhrjames The best thing to do if you have that bike is to email Sunny customer service and they will send you the how to. I didn't end up having to adjust it because I exchanged my original bike. But above the resistance device is a section that has 2 nuts, loosen the bottom nut and lower the top nut. I did not do this so I can't get more specific or tell you if it works. Good luck.

    • I debated long and hard between this sunny and the synergy pro 1851. The 1805 is better in the following: 1805 has forward and backward adjusting handlebars, and micro adjustments for raising and lowering hand bars and seat, so better adjustments. Also the 1805 has a slightly heavier flywheel, and the magnetic resistance on the 1805 "pinches" the flywheel on the sides instead of a single magnet stack on top. In my observation magnetic resistance that punches the flywheel tends to have a higher max resistance, it's the way the higher end bikes do it. The synergy has those pulse sensors, but they only work if your hands are on them whereas a heart rate monitor can be purchased pretty cheap and works regardless of hand position and also can track stats with apps. Theres a lot more but that's all I have for ya for now.

  • My Sunny Synergy Magnetic has a monitor that includes cadence with a 30 lb flywheel. - to + is 7 full turns. What I do is use two full turns as my base leaving 5 full turns. I consider each half turn from base as 10%. Thus 1.5 turns from base would be 30%, etc. That works for me while doing Peloton.

Do you have to have your phone attached to Sunny's app for the readout? I see some of the bikes say they're smart bikes and can connect to their app. Does the readout work independently of the app(via batteries or plug)? Thanks

You can open both apps and view them either in a split screen mode or a picture in picture window. Sucks to be you using that useless Apple crap technology.
