the echelon connect sport from walmart is a good entry level bike that doesn't cost too much, the echelon connect ex-4s takes the basic echelon bike to the next level. it does cost more but there are a lot of benefits to upgrading to the ex4s from the basic echelon connect sport.

This guy is literally the ONLY reviewer on youtube that isn't being paid UNDER THE TABLE by the companies themselves. You can just FEEL how catered the other review videos are. This guy gets into the nuts and bolts and critiques without LOYALTY TO ANY BRAND. GOOD ON YOU, WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU
I agree, after watching this video, it's clear that Echelon is not my choice.
Love your reviews! Thank you so much. I would love it if you did a video on the Echelon app and how it compares to Peloton spin classes
Man we need to play a drinking game where we take a shot everytime he says he's 6'5”. We'd be drunk 30 seconds in lmao. Nothing but love, these reviews are incredible 👏
These reviews gave been so helpful in helping decide which bike to buy! thanks
My pleasure! wait this isn't chick-fil-a...
Great video/review ! Thanks a lot !
Great comparison and thank you providing all of these. I've been watching all your EX4s videos and trying to decide if I am going to buy. Do you know if you can cast from the EX4s screen to a TV?
Great video... Thanks. We have been looking at the Connect (EX15) on Amazon for $449 but, we just found a local EX-3 still in the box for $400......... Original owner of the EX-3 was gifted it and has yet to use it, so we are torn between the two haha.
Thanks so much, you helped me make my decision, on my way to Costco. I appreciate your help God bless you 🙏
Thank you for the videos! How durable would you say the echelon connect is? I’m looking for an affordable bike around $500 that will last a while. Thanks again!
Great comparison video! Does the Connect 4s tablet have Bluetooth or casting option?
Great video, I just love to tune in to see how many of these bikes can fit inside the apartment
Michael, is that a challenge? :D

If we try to compare the two bikes as equal as possible then the $500 price difference actually shrinks to only $210 . Let me explain....the EX-4 has dual cage/spd pedals...the connect sport does not ...if we were to buy the same pedals from Echelon that is $50. The EX-4 includes One Year of Echelon connected fitness, the Sport only includes 6 months. Another 6 months for the sport is going to cost you $40/mo x 6 = $240. So together that adds another $ 290 to the cost of the Sport making the price difference now only $210. For the extra $210 you are getting quite a lot of extra features: 1) Built in Screen 2) 30lb rear mounted flywheel 3)New improved motor with index resistance 4) 2 vs 1 Water Bottle Holders & Dumbell Holders 5)Better Seat & Different Style Handle Bars! 6)Higher Quality Construction
Excellent points Paul, as always. Thank you for your analysis and sharing here!
Hey there, was curious if you could try adjusting the Connect Sports resistance like you did on the Tour de France? Could make for an interesting video....
Two questions! 1) Do Echelon bikes have automatic adjusted resistance during live classes and trail videos such as proform does? 2) does the echelon bike connect to the peloton & iFit app? Great video. Very informative!
I was waiting for this and waiting on Schwinn so I can buy. Thank you so much.
This was good. Thanks
I’ve had mine ex3 for 2 weeks put 90 miles on it love it
Sweeeet, glad you hear you are enjoying!
The EX-Series very much reminds me of a less expensive Keiser M3 at 1/2 the price with its V Frame design / Rear Flywheel. It does suffer from the same problem in that as you raise handlebars they move away from you. Keiser addressed this with the M3i and Echelon did the same with ex-5 with foraft adjustable handlebars. I would go as far as saying the EX series is more of a Keiser knockoff than a Peloton knockoff while the Echelon Connected Fitness experience is truly a Peloton clone ! The EX-15 (Prime) /Connect Sport are clearly going for more of the Peloton knockoff clone Style look !
Just found your channel, new sub! I'm shopping for a bike to replace a 10+ year old bike. I want magnetic and belt for the smoothness and low noise, my budget under $1000
Do you use a fan when spin cycling, and if so, what brand and model? Any advice on getting a fan? Thx!
Is there a benefit to a digital resistance knob versus the physical one? Looking into getting the connect sport right now so just seeing what the major benefits of the higher up model would be and if it’s really worth it.
What tablet holder would you recommend for the Echelon Connect Sport?
Hey love the video! How do you put your own clips onto the echelon pedals and where would you buy them?
eBay is the only place I’ve seen them
Ex4s has been reduced from $999 to $799 at Costco and includes a one year subscription
Thank you!!!
How does your output compare on this bike to the ex4s? I've noticed that the people on the leader board with the Connect Sport bike seem to have a significantly higher output than the ex bikes. Thanks.
Do you happen to know what are the ports on the back of the screen for? Like what can I connect to the screen through those ports? I’m hoping there’s options to see other things on the screen other than the echelon app.
I am considering upgrading to the EX-4S from the Sport. What resistance on the EX-4S is the 32 on the sport? I am at a point where the sport is becoming too easy as I end up riding at 30-31 the whole ride
Would you recommend the EX3 or the EX4-S? I'm still trying to figure out if it would be better to have a screen or a Ipad?
Have a few questions about the 4s Can you bypass the small screen and connect to the Echelon app on an Android TV? Can you connect the 4s to other apps? Zwift, Peloton etc? Thanks!
Question,.. Is the software/auto control of resistance that comes with the EX4 something that's actually used by many apps? All I see online is the dumb classes, not programmed rides. I don't know if there are many apps for such auto control, for these devices. I just bought a Sport-S (great deal), which is missing this feature (manual resistance control only). At the gym I do like the interval programs on their Precor bikes and actually this omission is a bit of a step down from my previous home setup of my road bike on a Minoura trainer with Minoura ICE control. Obviously I can use an interval timer app and create my own manual "programs" but if there's a plethora of auto resistance apps out there to pine over, well that'd be a source of irritation :-)
Hello! I’m a happy Happytailer who enjoys tour videos. QUESTION: is there a hack or some way to have the Echelon bikes give you a higher resistance. ( i’m talking about a digital magnetic resistance) I’ve tried the 32 resistance, and it is Probably about 75% to 80% of the resistance other bikes I’ve tried in the past can give you. With other bikes, if you are not careful and you give it to much resistance, he will make you stop Peddling. Thank you Happytail!
Great video..very thorough and informative. I had a question, not sure if you know the answer.I went to the Echelon website and I didn't see the EX4s listed for sale. They have the EX1LE,the EX3, and the it goes to EX5 and then EX5s. Has the EX4s been discontinued? It would be a shame since it seems to be a near perfect bike for an advanced beginner like myself that wants to improve. Regards
Its brand new, only in stores, call and ask your local costco
@@TailHappyTV Great! Thanks ,appreciate it :-)
@@TailHappyTV Was assembly difficult? Tx
So i am comparing Echelon bikes and am curious now the difference between the Sport vs the EX 3 vs the EX4s. Is the EX4 just a newer motor?
I am on the fence with Schwinn IC4 and the Echelon EX4S... They are close in price points and from the collection of your other videos, I feel they are both very well built. What is your opinion between the two or can you do a video comparing them? Thanks for your input and I appreciate your time on these videos. Very informal!
video coming soon on that!
@@TailHappyTV can't wait! Thank you! :-)
Thanks for the efforts and info of the vids. Your video info was used to purchase an echelon connect. Unfortunately their newest app update sucks making a cel phone nonviewable/ unusable. Please do an airplane mode metrics display video that makes my new purchase usable. Echelon customer service has not repaired the app or offered a viable answer.
Great idea on the airplane mode!
My Walmart Connect Sport changes resistance as fast as the EX4. Half turn gives me 2-3 resistance change. Doesn’t have the indexing, which would be nice, but definitely changes resistance more quickly than the Prime one in your video.
Thanks for sharing! looks like it may be time to be the new version soon!
What are you using for tablet holder?
@@jacobeastland8104 i use the tablet holder built into the Connect Sport’s handlebars for my iPad. It may be small for the 12” iPad but works fine for my 9.7” iPad.
BTW, Echelon is about to debut a new high end model. EX-7 for around $2000. Perhaps you want to compare it to the Peloton +.
What was that display holder that he attached to the EX4? Kind of a weird flexible tube with the display holder on the end.
Is there a benefit to having the flywheel on the back vs the front? Do you have a preference?
The bike is currently on sale for $800 at Costco, have a EX 15 on order but now am second guessing it.
What do you not like about the EX 15
I wish they hadn't skimped on the thickness of the handlebar! I hate to be so picky, but I actually think that will matter to me. If I'm saving a couple $K maybe I'll just come up with a jimmy rig to solve it? Thanks for your help!
Crazy idea.....bike gloves? Should be able to buy a lot of bike gloves for the $ savings.
I don’t know if you ended up getting the bike, but I got Fat Gripz (there are cheaper options too) to put on my bike’s handlebars and they’ve been great.
I have just bought the EX5 for $360, cheaper and better than both. All I had to do is wait for the COVID frenzy to pass and purchase it during a Black Friday sale event (3 weeks before Black Friday). With the coupons, it was actually cheaper than their open box EX4 and it had free shipping, which open box items don't have. I feel I stole something and gotten away with it 😊
Where do I buy the spd pedal for the other side of the echelon from Walmart
Do you think the rear flywheel position is the reason it feels like a better ride? It seems like it would feel more natural. Also looks like the belt is a lot shorter and you might dee more “connected” to the wheel, if that makes sense. (It does to me, but I’m simple).
Not sure if flywheel position changes ride feel, but does get it out of the way of sweat drops. I did measure the chain stay and you are right, it is surprisingly short, the shortest of all my bikes, more on this later.
I currently own a 4s. I am a pretty solid outdoor cyclist. I am considering downgrading to the sport to save money. Do you think that’s a good idea? Or would I really feel the drive train or max resistance drop. Just trying to determine is the 699 price difference is worth the resistance.
I would think down grading would be hard to do once spoiled with a better drive train, there is a considerable difference
@@TailHappyTV thanks for the insight!
Looks like my screen only works with membership, asked me for mi log in!! How I make works with out membership? I just want the screen “ freestyle “
Have you reviewed the spinning brand spinner bike?
Not yet
Great video! (01:34:17 AM) Me: Is there a difference in the sport plan trial and the united? (01:34:27 AM) Echelon: Yes (01:34:54 AM) Echelon: With the sport plan that you get form Walmart you can only access the on demand classes (01:35:05 AM) Me: Not live? (01:35:13 AM) Echelon: the united plan offers Live classes, pre recorded, and scenic classes (01:35:29 AM) Me: I'll keep the other trial. I wish that was specified better when purchasing the bike The Echelon connects sport bike description is misleading. Many of us are finding this out. It says all the things you can do with the bike and then says there is a 6-month trial. Once you buy the bike get it and register it, they are not offering the 6-month trial. If you contact them directly they give you the same directions as you just tried and try to say you're not doing it right and get you to go away. after that they give you a trial that does not do all of the things but it is very restricted. No challenges either. I'm waiting for a call back from Walmart management for resolution. I wonder if the Costco membership is the same.
I’m very confused as to how people had issues with the Walmart connect and the echelon plan. I only had 3 options when signing up- flex ($20 a month and I’d already read on Facebook don’t pick), United at $39 a month and United at $399 a year. I picked the $39 a month in case I forget to cancel at the end of 6 months and immediately had access to all the classes, live and on demand. No chat with CS necessary.
Wow, thanks for sharing this info here, I had no idea about the differences in memberships!
@@jessicaposs1196 thanks for sharing this. I'm on the phone with management at Walmart now as others in online groups are having the same battle as me. I followed the directions and was only offered a 14 trial or pay for a full year for $399
@@TailHappyTV I had to go back to Echelon CS twice and was able to get the United trial. Buyer beware that it takes some effort if the tech instructions don't work.
Apple fitness plus
Regarding handlebar thickness, I put Fat Gripz on my Peloton handlebars and they’ve been great. I get an awesome forearm burn if I squeeze ‘em for a while too.
Ya but can you tell me about the mini lion head on the wall.
I bought it on a whim about 7 years ago lol
I hear the resistance motor adjust when I rotate the nob
Why don't you score all of the bikes and give a definitive rating/ranking
Can u change the seat it’s uncomfortable
At which Costco did you find bike?
On the $500 bike when you are using the app and adjust the resistance do you see it on the app?
Yes, more vids on this bike
Echelon ex3 is £1250 in the UK
Is it normal to hear the motor when you turn resistance? Got one second hand and I don't know whether it's an issue
Normal
@@TailHappyTV thank you from Ireland. Legendary videos also
Did you have any reviews for elliptical machine
i wish, out of space in my apt, maybe one day i can afford to buy a BIG space, and fill it with equipment :)
Ok thank you for your time to answer my question I really enjoy your channel
I got the EX3 from BigLots for 199
Now that you have a fleet of spin bikes, would be interesting to see which works best with Apple Fitness Plus or compare the fitness platforms from Echelon, iFit, Peloton and Apple
Working on it, as a samsung guy it's going to cost a pretty penny for all the hardware requirements, but am going to convert lol
Informative video, but could you please take your eerily large hand out of every shot
You're right
