The Process
---------------------
We're designing packaging for Potato Chips in 5 min, 30 min, and unlimited time! For each package, we'll design a layout, gather stock photos, add custom illustration, choose fonts and typography, and put it all together to form a final product. Each package also gets a logo design.
We'll see how big a factor time makes when designing packages in Adobe Photoshop CC 2022.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced designer, this challenge is a fun way to try some new skills and see how you measure up! Give it a go yourself!

      @lfxqc@lfxqc Жыл бұрын
    • @@lfxqc I started my editing journey as soon as I started making youtube videos. If you go back and watch my earliest videos, the editing is super simple. I watched other youtubers and picked up some editing tricks and applied more and more each subsequent video. Really it was just all about trying to make the next video more entertaining than the last, and a lot of that relies heavily on trying new things with editing. The great part is that you really only need to know the basics of an editing software (like after effects) to do 95% of the stuff I do in my videos.

Regarding the first one, when you made a comment about the white background being undesirable because it's boring, I immediately thought of Cape Cod brand snacks since their original chips come in a bag that is mostly white. While the third bag you did is certainly the fanciest, I do like the simplicity of the first bag, especially with respect to a food product that is trying to give off a healthy, simple, back-to-basics vibe.

  • Amazing content @Brandon, as always 👏🏻👏🏻 My question is how and what type of file will you send for the final print? It would be great to have more insights on the print phase 🙏🏻

    • @TripleA3 Not to take anything away from Brandon's next video, but I occasionally do packaging design with the company I work for. Generally, the company producing the package will have an unfolded template that you just place your design onto and send back. I like Brandon's idea of designing on a mockup. It does give you a better idea of what the finished product will look like, and it makes a bigger impact during the client presentation. The only downside is that it's not always easy to find a mockup with the exact specifications as the actual bag, so you may end up making slight layout adjustments on the final product.

    • It depends on a print company, but usually the TIFF file format is the most preferred one.

    • @@NektoDesigner Thanks Nekto! I was actually talking about the content of the file rather than the extension. Should it be designed as dielines or any other format?
