Me who gets a +16 intentionally: *my goals are beyond your understanding*
I really want to try this
🤣🤣
And feliks zemdegs would still be sub 16 even with a +16
Ah yes Reverse Flash reference 🤚
Isn't that competing with the intention of getting a poor result, though?
J perm: gets +16. *Still* *better* *than* *my* *average*
Still better than my pb
His time at 2:25 is actually the same time as my pb that I got last night lol.
same my best average is like 28
My pb is 15 secs last day tbh :D
@@dahlenisaid1265 My pb is 18 seconds. I however average like 28.
"Who here has actually read all the regulations?" Me, who has: "Only losers would 😅"
😢
I have and actually have no intention of going to a competition in the next 2 years.
I did this before my first comp thinking everyone did and then I found out ppl didn’t..
Same bro 😎
When u realise that his 16 second penalty solve is faster than ur pb
Fun fact: everything is either a potato or not a potato
it faster then my pb.
Well I got a 23.97 second solve. It was an easy double x cross which I thought was a normal x cross. Then I got a RUR' pair and then a R'URU'R'U'R pair which I can do in 1.5 secs. Then the OLL was an anti sune and I got a PLL skip where I just had to do a U'. I'm so sad I lost that piece of paper where I had written that scramble or I'd give it here😭
@@legendracer4861 congrats 🎉 I also got a pb today (13.026 )

I read through the regulations and found an interesting rule: organizers are allowed to modify the stackmat timers at the discretion of a WCA delegate, such as taping batteries in or placing o rings around the reset button.
ME TOO!!!!!!!
WOOOOOO
Interesting fact: I took my friend to his first cubing competition once, and he didn't know how to use a timer And Kit Clement was at that competition, so he taught my friend how to use a stackmat timer And then Kit continued to watch his solve, which was nice
Having met Kit, can confirm he's pretty cool
@@rubixtheslime Yes he is 👍
Your experience is not fact
do you need to bring your own timer?
@@comixcomix1 Nope! Official cubing competitions will always provide one for you
The most common mistake is not praying for a last layer skip. thanks for 1k likes!!! can we turn these like in to subs ;)
Ha
Is it worked with you?
@@justguru_10 yes 1 time
😂🤣
@@galaxy_brian5158 :)
The WCA rules are surprisingly easy to read. And if you're only competing in one or two events, lots of rules simply won't apply to you. I highly encourage everyone to read all the rules that apply to them.
This going to be useful, i really want to go to my first WCA comp
Comps are fun
I once was in a competition and when I finished the solve I thought my computer was in front of me so I reached to hit the space bar and forgot that I had a timer

My best solve went from 1 minute to 27 seconds in one month because of your tutorials

I just got sub 45 after 2 weeks on J perms channel and a speed cube (beginner method) hoping to get sub 30 soon finally have 2 look memorized.
I totally read that wrong! I read that you went from 1 minute and 27 seconds TO one month because of the videos 😂

And yes... He uploaded this when no one can go to a cubing competition.
Yes
But comps are going to be very soon...
Some places already have comps!
@@JPerm You are right jperm
@@JPerm You have really helped me to get to 1 minute to sub 20 in 6 months.Thank you Dylan!👍👍
2:26 and you were still faster than me😭😭😭
Thanks JPerm! This really did boost up my confidence on not doing anything wrong! Thanks :)
I have been going back an forth between cubing a couple of months then stopping and you and your videos are the resen I always come back
The competition registeration opened at 21:00. I registered at exactly 21:01 and there were already 65 participants. At 21:04 there were 125, whitch was the limit. Keep in mind in greece, where i live in there arent as many cubers
One time I was going to a comp with a 25 competitor limit. I registered 1 minute after when the limit was already reached. I broke my arm 3 weeks before the comp and didn't know how fast it would heal... THERE WERE 24 COMPETITORS GOD DAMNIT
awesome! I haven't competed in a while so I definitely needed this before my upcoming comps :)
My most frustrating competition moment was when my judge forgot to reset the timer from the previous solve and didn’t realize until I finished my solve, so I technically DNF’d. I should’ve looked down and reset it myself smh
thats sad
I believe you can get a resolve for that
Thanks mate!!..... You have helped a lot for me during these months i have improved a lot...... have a great day
1:58 AFTER YEARS OF CUBING I STILL DO THIS EVERY SINGLE TIME DURING SKEWB
Thanks for the tips, love your videos and have learned a lot from them. Though I have one question: What happens if the cube pieces fall off, or one piece turns?
www.worldcubeassociation.org/regulations/ Article 5 - Puzzle Defects I'll just copy-paste the whole thing, it's all relevant 5a) Examples of puzzle defects include: popped parts, pieces twisted in place, and detached screws/caps/stickers. 5b) If a puzzle defect occurs during an attempt, the competitor may choose to either repair the defect and continue the attempt, or to stop the attempt. 5b1) If a competitor chooses to repair the puzzle, they must repair only the defective parts. Tools and/or parts of other puzzles must not be used to repair the original puzzle. Penalty: disqualification of the attempt (DNF). 5b2) Any repair to a puzzle must not give the competitor an advantage in solving the puzzle. Penalty: disqualification of the attempt (DNF). 5b3) Permitted repairs: 5b3a) If any parts have fallen out or moved out of place, the competitor may place them back. 5b3b) If the competitor repairs the puzzle but finds that the puzzle is unsolvable later during the solve, they may disassemble and reassemble a maximum of 4 pieces to make the puzzle solvable. 5b3c) If the puzzle is unsolvable, and can be made solvable by rotating a single corner piece, the competitor may correct the corner piece by twisting it in place without disassembling the puzzle. 5b4) During a blindfolded phase (see Regulation B4), all repairs must be performed blindfolded. Penalty: disqualification of the attempt (DNF). 5b5) If some parts of the puzzle are physically detached or not fully placed at the end of the solve, the following regulations apply: 5b5a) If one or more parts without colored faces are affected, the puzzle is considered solved. 5b5b) If one part with one colored face is affected, the puzzle is considered solved. 5b5c) If more than one part with one colored face is affected, the puzzle is considered unsolved (DNF). 5b5d) If one or more parts with more than one colored face are affected, the puzzle is considered unsolved (DNF). 5b5e) Regulations 5b5c and 5b5d supersede 5b5a and 5b5b.
im pretty sure you can just get the piece that fell out and put it back in, and If a corner twists just twist it back. there isn't any penalies
@@spritey3757 yes can confirm have dealt with pops in comp before and unless my judge just didnt care nothing happened (besides terrible times because i had to rebuild cube mid solve :P)
I read through all of the wca rules and watched some other videos like this one right when i started cubing so these have never been a problem to me
Jperm thank-you for your help and all the best for all your competition

1:30 isnt that a +2? the cube is 1 move away from being solved
Nope the M move is considered as (L' R) or (L R') so it's basically two moves which makes it a DNF

I thought u will review and unbox the x man tornado instead to this video. Btw it was so helpfull I knew many things already but the blind concept was great hoping for the competitions to happen soon.
the karate chop stop 2:33 made laugh more than it should have
Another reason for failing on purpose is that it will help another person(friend, brother ) win.... People will think why? Because they can give you money for doing that
Why don't you just win instead? 😅
@@JPerm well this thing will never happen in a comp as everyone wants to win. I was jk!
@@JPerm hey J perm I suggest you to take a look at my 6.93 PB Scramble! Its a easy yellow xcross and a straightforward f2l! I don't want to self promote but can you just try it and tell your time to me? The video about the scramble is on my channel!:)
Nice scramble and solution! I checked out!
for over 10 years, how come they still don't at least make the reset button press twice or hold for a second to reset the timer?? Like the accidental reset is so easy to avoid with this...
Its just how the timers work. Only until the recent speedstacks G5 I believe, that has a reset button that takes longer to register but I don't think the timer will be used in comps yet.
i just got gan 11m pro and i must say... that...... The cube casing/box is AWESOME and i always use it so my clumsy hand won't drop and break my plastic tesseract if it hit the ground 🥴

buy a 100 dollar cube
4:00 you just got penalty, you didnt complete the turn
Actually i don't think so because it kinda looks like less than 45° offset
If you have a 3x3 version of your main why don't you have one for other cubes like 2x2 or 4x4? Alos, thank you for this video it will help with my competition tommorow.
