This series aims to show the best vehicles to use in GTA Online in a racing situation. That is, around a regular circuit with a mix of corners and straights. The word "Fastest" means nothing without some context - these are the fastest vehicles around a circuit. How Lap Times Were Obtained Accurately
The best lap time a vehicle can achieve around a circuit determines how good it is and therefore its place within this list.
Each vehicle was taken around the same circuit multiple times, with the best lap time being recorded. For most vehicles this equates to 10 laps per vehicle, but can often be more to ensure the absolute best lap time has been achieved with the vehicle. There are some caveats to this kind of testing though which are worth explaining below.

I recommend reading this for anyone who is confused, interested, or doubts the validity of the results in this video as it explains in great detail the extent to which these results will be useful for you personally, in addition to linking the track used for your own testing/comparison.*
So with that all being said, this video should be taken as a guideline. The testing is very accurate for this track and similar tracks when cars are driven close to the maximum. At the very least you should be able to use this testing help narrow your field of view for your own personal testing. I would always recommend testing a variety of cars yourself and take into account what kind of tracks you're racing on, what is better for you and your skill level, and even your budget. My testing is meant to guide you, not tell you exactly what to use in every situation.

people that bought the calico: damn, we just got vectored.
It's especially funny since I was beating some players yesterday with Remus & they left to buy Calico. It's not useless by any means, but day later better car got released! That said, Calico will still be way better in pursuit races.

@@IrnFox that for sure, Calico's top speed and acceleration are crazy, there's no match in pursuits, but in street races things can now change
For most people the Calico will probably still be better, especially with the top speed difference, and half a second quicker laptime isn't that big of a deal, especially with how hectic street races can get
This car felt so disappointing to test drive last week, this result, caveats and all, is genuinely shocking.
Guess you can’t judge a car without upgrades.
Ikr, even my maxxed Vectre except with only the 1st suspension upgrade and not the max/last one feels slow-ish in corners. Max camber must be making huge difference, but no thanks I'll keep my Vectre slow and without that much camber.
@@TakumisBizarreRacingAdventure I don’t have my Vectre at Max suspension because of the camber it gives and mine still feels as smooth as butter through corners. It’s really a breath of fresh air after driving the always teetering on the edge Calico for weeks.

I just wish Rockstar had a game balancer for every update so cars in this class could atleast be all competitive with each other, seeing as there's so many pretty cars that go to waste as they get absolutely destroyed by 1 or 2 cars in a class

Stick with the Calico for The Business End and all Pursuit races. The boosts it gets are critical. All the other Street races though, they’re twisty enough for the Vectre to be fastest, so use that … until the Sultan comes along of course.
Good shortshifting might launch the Calico past the vector on some other street races as well, because the calico is simply better at boosting.

Wow, I’m surprised that a heavy grand tourer can beat the calico, but I still would wait till the Sultan RS came out since the regular version is already extremely fast.
It's fast alright. Played against someone that had it few days ago. Reported him for modding aswell. I don't think he was using speed hacks since it was just slightly faster than Calico, but can't be sure since he was a modder afterall.

Man, they should really add the older tuner cars into the Tuner class, like the Jester Classic, Elegy Retro Custom and etc. Also, WTF! I never expected the Vectre to be first
elegy retro is one of the fastest sports so it would be OP
R* wants people to spend their money, that's the sole reason for any DLC to be made. So it would not make sense from their POV if you could use a car you already had for this dlc
That is also the reason behind this drip feed car to be better now that ppl bought the calico, and also why got damn sports cars are more than 1,5 million dollars

It might drive completely different tho. Similar appearance doesn't guarantee similar handling style. But yeah, probably....

@@danielaponte4054 the regular sultan was a sports car but when you convert to the sultan RS it became a supercar, might be why it handled differently. Not the case here with the sultan Classic and sultan RS Classic both being sports cars, and almost look identical other than 2door v 4door

@@YBHawk77 in certain conditions a stock or street suspension would benefit the driver, such as a rally build for off-road section racing. But for lap times around a circuit, the fastest lap would be achieved with the lowest suspension giving the vehicle the highest traction bonus possible
I knew this would be a car to watch after the Random Race, but wow if this is faster than the Calico in a lap, then the Sultan RS Classic will absolutly demolish the class :o
I had a modder in one of my street race lobbies use a Sultan RS Classic and it did in fact demolish :( 4-5 seconds faster than 2nd and 3rd place in Calicos
@@BlakeMadsen That wouldn't be necessarily the case, every modder I faced always have speed hacks on. One time I faced one of them with an unreleased cypher and they went way much faster than even the fastest car in the Tuners class.

The Vectre looked faster at least that's what I saw in Broughy random tuners race.
Never expected this to be the fastest up to date. I expected the same result as Comet.
Been using the Vectre in pursuit races and finding I often beat the Calico and Jester users because the cornering of the Vectre is so much better (or at least it feels that way).
I personally go for the jester every time as my vehicle of choice tbh. Most people I race with don’t really know how to control that AWD in corners and the jester being RWD gives me that better advantage to what I have seen.

So basically in most random races you'll still be faster in the Calico as most randoms can't drive. The Vectre also looks pretty bad modded to be as fast as possible due to the fact that is makes the car look like all the suspension is broken/removed.
I'm annoyed that the Sultan RS Classic has the extreme camber option. I know it'll give better handling characteristics but it looks awful to me.

Wow didn't expect this I just bought thr calico last week I mostly used the jester RR and figured I'd go ahead and buy the calico and get used to it on anticipation for the sultan RS classic, because I like the look of the calico better.

I think it's the first time I won't get the 1st one for a class. the difference is just too small and it can still lose depending on straight lines, and it's not like I'm a great pilot that can take full advantage of this anyways (tbh, I don't like the design too much either)
top cars arent to important imo in random lobbies, i win races pretty often with the dominator gtt lol but def helps if youre getting serious

Vectre is also now the heaviest weight tuner, which makes a difference in impact absorption. It's a small consideration, but it can matter somewhat in the robbery contracts and possibly in those street races with players convinced they're playing bumper cars.
really? It feels surprisingly light to me, on par with the Comet S2 and nowhere near as good for ramming as the Tailgater S (which is still not that good)
@@aexandereung5686 All the tuners are light, relative to everything else. The Vectre's game files claim it weighs 400 lbs (correction: kilos) more than the Tailgater S. Although weight distribution also makes a difference for ramming specifically; vehicles with more mass in front than in back will ram slightly better, and body kits affect this (however you'll be a faster racer with the mass as centered as possible).

I just got the vectre and first thing I noticed driving down the street was that. And it has absolutely no top speed compared to the Sultan RS.
I won't lie, quite smug to see one of the few Lexus' be top for now, and there being doubt about it being fast proor to release, nice to see more cars be viable(if only R* would use a bop or tier system, would make it such a fun experience)
Interesting. Im gonna stick with the calico as im not consistent enough to make this car work i think. Need the superior calico acceleration to catch back up if i make a mistake.
From my own testing of the test rides around the test track so far, the Vectre is 3rd fastest with around 58/59 secs best lap, compared to both the new Pfister cars, the Comet S2 & Growler, which can lap around 57/58 secs, though the Vectre is definitely the nicest/smoothest to drive of the test rides we've had so far, so it's not surprising it ended up being the fastest new Tuners car overall😮👍👏
I’m a Calico/Celica fanboy, but it does feel nice to be able to live out a VIP Lexus fantasy with the Vectre if it really does run better. The good thing is that it’s faster by such a small margin, so I can still get use out of both cars in most random lobbies!
You can use almost anything in random lobbies. I've beat the top cars in my ZR350.

Good things come to those who wait. I've purposely not bought the calico because I have faith that the RS will be king. It did so in rally racing irl, hopefully it'll do the same here.
Its telling that r* is holding back the sultan for so long. Its next in line for SSASA since week 2 of the dripfeed when the dominator came out. And judging by the trend of the new test track free ride being the next dlc dripfeed, next week we are getting the growler. So atleast 2 weeks till the sultan.
Let's hope they make a tuners pt2 based on the huge influx this update brought in and we can get even more better street racers~ Hoping for the other celica, lancer, etc~

Of this update I only do the Pursuit races, because they're the most fun. But I never stick to just one car, that would be way too boring. Hell, being apart of the racing community taught me to push my skills with many different types of vehicles. So it really doesn't matter what becomes the new number one, your skills are more likely to determine whos going to come out on top

They'll all choose the same vehicle and battle it out to see who's best, or deliberately choose significantly slower cars as a handicap. Until you get into Calico vs Futo match up where the opponent can drive below averagely and still beat the Futo driving at its limit

The only way someone who's driving a vehicle that's 60th in the class against something that's in 13th, is if their opponent were driving backwards. In all seriousness, the top racers would choose vehicles that has a chance to win with their skill being the deciding factor. A good example is to look at the tier list for sports cars on broughy's website, pick a vehicle from the top 2 tiers. The next 3 tiers slower, the top races could realistically beat you with...maybe without even breaking a sweat
Whats the difference in laptimes for the Vectre in highest suspension upgrade vs any of the other suspension upgrades?
I think atleast 1-2 seconds, without it its a bit slippery

@@S1lverArr0w I returned to the game a week ago after leaving since the bunker and hangars update, i didn't know that Cayo Perico was such a farm fest, so I started farming the Sessanta contracts after buying the workshop to get a custom tuners for street races. But yeah, once i heard about the Cayo heist, i sold it.

I knew the Vectre was gonna be top 3 but I didn’t think it was gonna be #1, feels way better then the jester rr but I knew it didn’t match the speed
I think you could win a race in a Jester RR in the same way as a Vectre. So it’s really a top 3. Even with the camber I found the RR the easiest and on some tracks the quickest to use
Had a nice drive shortly after the release. Phenomenal grip, and half decent accel to boot. Still, not as nice to drive as the calico
I had a hunch that this car would be fast but how much is fast are we talking about faster than the Calico or slower by half a second but it turns out it was faster than the Calico. When you raced in a random tuners race a couple of days ago and you got the Vectre I looked at it and it looked fast and the grip looked phenomenal.
Although the Calico is harder to drive, with using short shifting and brake boosting, it's still going to be the quicker on tracks where it can use it's top speed to it's advantage
howd you short shift it? I think I got break boosting down but never heard of short shifting in this game.

You let off throttle for like a split second and back on when in high revs (ideally around the shifting point for the car), if you do it right, car shifts up a gear earlier than it would and you'll hear it explicitly change gears

the suspension in one of the most annoying parts of this update visually. some cars like the s2000 dont go low enough and the vectre is too low with that ridiculous camber.

Still gonna use the calico just for the looks of it. Not really feeling this one, even if it's a bit faster in lap time. Although i'm definitely looking forward to the sultan rs, hoping it'll be the best.
Classic Rockstar, add a faster vehicle every month for a different class, so if you want to be competitive in races you need to constantly spend money. This time calico is still worth it, but who knows next week

i really wasnt expecting for this first off that the RCF ripoff is AWD instead of RWD in the game and i also used to dismiss cars with the ridiculous stanced suspension because it looks ugly af and i thought it wouldnt perform aswell (but i forgot this is gta not a sim)

Muhammad Haris Firdaus Zainol Mahariq the average gta racer is terrible you’re probably above average so you could still beat them in a Futo But try that in a high level race and you’ll be wishing for the calico I’ve done 40 races in the calico and haven’t lost a single one I’m almost always ahead by 10-20 seconds and the only ones who get close are other calicos
I'll pray if a calico kid doesn't cause a crash at the start of every race

Finally that terribly bouncy calico isn't at the top anymore. Horrible to race with and against, it either bounces you meters into the air or other people bounce into you.
It’s nice to see the street races will have some more variety now. The Calico GTF, Vectre and Dominator ASP which is a guaranteed salt machine when you use it and win. Hopefully R* doesn’t ruin this with the Sultan RS Classic soon or the Growler next week.

Nah you want a real salt machine? Try using the zr350 to win races lol I always come in in first and it’s so satisfying to look at the leaderboards after the race and everyone is in Calicos

Weirdly somehow i can only handle calico in first person if im being in third person cant handle The car and one im sliding or over steering.
Its so weird, the vectre doesn't seem that quick when you drive it but I annihilated all my calico and jester lap times.

so vectre for street racing short cuts and calico for long straight pursuits.
Also has anyone noticed how badly the Calico steers once youve run into one single small object? any mistakes and you are racing in a sub-par vehicle.
I actually got sick of racing it for that reason. Way too bouncy, understeers and turns like a boat. I bought the jester rr just for that reason and I was beating calicos still.
Most of the new cars have a really bad turning circle probably due to the wheels glitching through the arches I'd they didn't

@@antonparis7939 yes indeed, jester is a fine driving vehicle. I ended up switching back to the Calico since all the races are smash happy slug fests with catch up on. I found that once i got to the front, i didnt have enough power in the jester to get away from the clowns behind me and the calico - as long as i havent run into a single thing in the race - will still offer enough handling with its insane acceleration to keep me ahead.
What reputation level is required is LS car meet to unlock the trade price?
