    • Nice that's pretty much How I was with Italian speakers I was pretty good in highschool Gotta thank Ezio for that Managed to almost get around a language barrier with some Italian workers in the town I was living in last year but it's mostly lost on me now I think Now I can just pick up bits and pieces to at least understand the context of conversations with them

  • I saw Yoel in Cuba a few times. I was an athlete myself, not elite but close and I know a lot of the best athletes in Cuba and let me tell you, Yoel was the guy that most impressed me in physique, among monsters, and we have a guy named Mijaín Lopez that is a three times super heavyweight Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling, Yoel was that one you did not wanna mess with. Congratulations to him, all he has won has been well deserved

    • @El Machete No thats not what transliteration is at all. And when you're translating, although its ok here because its just a casual setting, but when you're translating professionally you have to be extremely accurate and you have to say almost the same thing they say so as to not misconstrue their message. You can change it a bit to suit the language you're translating in but you really cant change it too much

    • My cousin was a Province champ and he was about to enter the system and my uncle was like nah lol so he didn't. The way he explains the system is kinda of wrong. You enter the system if you perform well in competitions that everyone can go and is your choice you can choose not to. There is no talent scout that personally goes around to teams to "test people" Goes Ide, Espa, Espa Nacional, Selección Nacional. :) I came here too young or I would have entered the system for baseball.

  • Walk a mile in his shoes!I have been to Cuba and was married to a Cuban who is the mother of my kids.The people really struggle a Doctor makes 80 a month.I have trained in Cuban gyms most of the equipment is home made.There is no protein creatine pre workout drinks.The genetics of the people is incredible!Sport is one of the only escapes if you reach the elite Olympic levels.I salute the Soldier of God for making it to his level and was able to make it to USA and appreciate this country and his roots!

  • Yoel has a supreme peripheral perspective on life, somehow Joe and Joey who in their own right has a distinctive outlook on life that makes them understand people and their character on a sophisticated level, something not a lot of people can comprehend. Note that none of the crew gets involved much with the conversation, i understand with the language its not easy, but thats what I mean, having the mental dexterity and complexity to get past that and establish a good 2 way convo regardless. I like it

  • Yoel is like a Hollywood super hero character yet in real life , a great role model for the youth of today , focus ,fitness and dedication... Some of that needed in a lot of cities across the states and here in London. Joey is a funny guy . A good fella , his translating is just perfect ,between the two of these guys is an understanding ,great interview ,you find yourself getting involved and enjoying the outcome ... Yoel deserves a champ belt , he earnt it the hard way already , got champ written above his head already 🌟

  • Ha! In early to mid 90s in Cuba I was 8 when a few coaches came in and picked the "strongest" looking boys to participate in judo tryouts. I thought it was extra curricular activities, that got me out of class. About 4 or 5 boys from my school got selected including me, and I trained judo for about 2 years before my parents defected to the U.S. Here I am 20+ years later putting all the pieces together, by hearing someone talk a out their experience. Kinda fascinating.

    • who cares if Cuba gets mad he fled that brutal regimen and is now free. after going through hell in Cuba he never going back there . if he did he probably be killed of jailed for life for fleeing. this other dude that does spanish soap operas william levy said he would go to the beach in Cuba and dreamed how it would feel to be free and drink soda whenever you wanted🤔. crazy, and fidel died and the regimen still going strong🤔incredible. is like Cuba stuck in the twilight zone whereyou can never find freedom
