  • Saw this happen with a wolf spider once. The wolf spider was already incapacitated and the hawk was having a hard time dragging the spider. Two days ago I came upon a small centipede that a small tarantula had bitten and definitely won the battle. Looked up that scenario and the centipede usually won. Nature is harsh but very interesting and beautiful too.

"I GUARANTEE she's trying to lay the eggs... noooo, no she's still stinging called it guys totally called it" and the mom kills me LOL, "Well I'm not happy about it! Give the thing some space for god's sake--" Also, the tarantula hawk was probably stinging repeatedly so she could see how much venom it would take to down the spider without overdoing it, since she wants to paralyze, not kill, and also not waste the venom

  • When I was around the age of these kids, I stepped on a tarantula hawk. The pain was indescribable! I couldn't feel my leg and I got dizzy. My parents didn't really care as "it was just a bug bite". I am now 38 and I still have the "tattoo" left by the dark thick poison. On the next day, I was perfectly fine (still hurting tough)! But then I stepped on a nest of wasps while climbing a tree. Got 12 stings and had to jump from the tree (4m high). Let's just say I wasn't a very lucky kid... hahaha! I have other stories with much bigger stuff!
