During the Cold War, spies used hollow coins and dead drops to pass secret messages, hide suicide poisons and smuggle microfilms without detection.
While we don't expect you to use this for anything like that, being discreet with personal information is just one of the many uses for these devices.
Check out the Hollow Spy Coins, Dead Drop Spike and Hollow Spy Bolt in the ITS Store today! www.itstactical.com/store
Pill bottle with a rock glued to the top. Bury the bottle, it's a rock. Works, and cheap/free.
would be real nice if those coins came in ring sizes so you could carry the opener around with you
There are no laws in the US restricting these, any person can cut up, mutilate and machine any US coin for any purpose other than fraud. It would be illegal to shave some metal off of a coin, re-circulate it and then sell the shaved metal on the open market. Spy Coins has been machining coins since 1996, in fact they sell the coin shavings back to the mutilated coin division of the US mint in Philly where they get re-cycled. Hope that helps to dispel the alleged illegality of these. ~ Bryan
Yes, if you are interested in different "dead drop" devices, look on the geocaching sites for dozens of clever gadgets. I've been amazed at some of the "hidden in plain view" ways and means.
It's in there now Stephen, thanks for the heads up that I forgot to include it! ~ Bryan
perfect exchange? the receiver dresses as a panhandling bum, the informant drops such a coin into their cup, ect. just looks like someone being generous.
The bolt and the spike would be cool for Geocaching.
I usually don't buy things online, but I just had to have the coin. It's really cool. Just got it today and it looks and feels just like any other coin.
"Catch you on the flip side"- pardon the pun :)
ah haha 😒
Im gonna use those bolts to hide my cocaine
▌ That half dollar is amazing. I would LOVE to see a "how it's made" style video showing the creation process. I understand about the lathing and hollowing but how on earth do you do the initial cutting around the inner side or do you use two half dollars to make one hollow coin? anyway, brilliant product, I'm ordering one asap : )
Brad Saint George There was a How It's Made show in these coins. The man that was making them used 2 coins. I keep looking for a How to do it video, No luck so far.
Anugs Keingrau Well if you find it, please let me know, I will do the same. mahalo!
Brad Saint George I will do that. And Thank you.
They're not machined by hand. They're machined by machine
it's not about what it is supposed to be passed off as, it is about if you can prove the purpose you're using it for if you get caught having it on your posession
Why don't you sell this stuff anymore?
Greetings from muscle shoals AL brother! Always good to see your vids. Keep on keepin on-SEMPER FI
Is the DD Spike large enough in diameter to fit a normal house key?
You can also open one these coins by shaking it in a glass
I like the half dollar. Perfect for just passing off and noone is the wiser.
I wonder how much one could fit inside a gold Sacagawea dollar?
Been wanting one of these for a while, but haven't found one yet
The purpose of the fake half dollar is that if you get caught with it, the only thing they are going to think is, "Alright, he has a wallet, a phone, and some change in his pocket(one of the coins being a half dollar). Unless you try and actually use it as currency it's not illegal to have.
Drug dealers with 50 cent pieces and bolts? Wtf?
If you tried to buy some thing with it, then it would be illegal. Otherwise, it's just a useful novelty item from the cold war.
How are you allowed to sell the half dollar coin. I'm not American and i don't know if there is a 50 cent coin in circulation, but if it does exist, isn't illegal(probably felony) to sell counterfeit money?
So according to you if you print counterfeit money it is not illegal as long as you don't try to buy something with it? And how will you be able to prove that you won't be trying to do so,if the authorities finds out?
Its not counterfeit. Its is not illegal to sell real money and it is not illegal to alter real money. The Kennedy half dollar is in circulation.
no thanks, I already have my false tooth loaded with cyanide.
Where do u buy the coin
it's not illegal to have these things.....also, as long as you're not caught making them or trying to purchase something with them, there's nothing the police can do about it.
it's not counterfeit, it's not meant to pass off as real money at a store, what your suggesting is like calling monopoly money real currency.
I would store family photos on an SD card in my hallow half dollar.
Great idea,,wonderful start to the best scavenger hunt ever,,,use it with S D card for information,,hiden in plain sight,,REALLY COOL,,",would you like to play a game"?!,,,
get out of here stalker :P the bolt thing...
“Half dollar Kennedy coin” how ironic
yak yak yak- yawwwwwn- good bye-
Is no one concerned that this is actually possible to do...
Seriously dude, are you really asking this question? Who in the hell makes HOLLOW COIN COUNTERFEIT MONEY????? Don't you think it's easier to PRINT paper money then stamp coin money if you really wanted to break the law? Anyone who's one I.Q. point above plant life can figure this out.
first!!
Man I wish you'd stay on the one tangent and not diverting
no. printing money is WAY harder than making coins. get your IQ straight.
