A man suffered from a form of ankylosing spondylitis so severe that his upper body folded onto his thighs. Three parts of his body were ‘connected’ - his chin to his chest, his breastbone to his pubic bone, and his face to his thigh bone. After undergoing four operations at Shenzhen University General Hospital, in which his bones were literally broken and reconstructed, he finally stood straight - after 28 years.

Considering she's a mother, it's kinda in her DNA to be so dedicated.
@@lanfour4444 And there's many more mothers who abandon their child the moment anything happens that would require a possible lifetime of care. DNA really doesn't mean anything.

Unfortunately this is very realistic for children with certain conditions. If their parents die, they usually end up on institutions that care little about them

Doctors really broke this man's bones and reconstructed the bones back. They spent hours in surgery with this man. They deserve a huge round of applause for there hard work
i dont even know how its even possible- its amazing
Seeing things like this makes me so happy, this is humanity at its finest. The son literally lifting himself up, his mother's love for him, the medical team achieving this incredible feat, the technology that makes it possible. It's so heartwarming to see them all!
It honestly disgusts me. She says she'd been trying to get him help for almost 30 years, but the video says they couldn't afford it. What's the point of the medical technology if it isn't being used to help people? Imagine how much more comfortable he'd be now if he'd been able to access intervention decades ago.
@@lerualnaej5917 I agree, economic inequality causes most oft the suffering in the world and it's the biggest injustice of all. The most important thing anyone can do to improve the life of another person is to fight to abolishing exploitation and achieving equality. For me seeing this treatment process and everyone involved in it is still a reason for optimism. Most of the cruelty people inflict on each other comes from them being unable to see each other and their part in causing it. It's easy to disregard the suffering of a poor person the next town over or in Africa if we don't see how our actions cause this poverty. But when people meet face to face they are capable of great kindness and great feats, like that mother for her son, or the surgeon and the team who achieved this. I think if people are capable of this at a personal level it's also possible to make people see that they can also do this for people who they don't ever meet personally.
Happy for this man and his mother 😂😊
@@lerualnaej5917 man. Hundreds of millions of people are still suffering from hunger. Humans produce more food than we need every single year. However, our economic system prevents it from being used for people in need.
Though is it humanity at its finest that he couldn’t access treatment for many years because his family couldn’t afford it? When resources were there, just not in his family’s hands?

The first minute of this saddened me greatly. I was diagnosed in 2016 as having Ankylosing Spondylitis 😢 and in 2020 was told I have Cervical Spondylosis, both cause me a lot of pain. I can hardly move my head, I can't look up or side to side but I can look down. He didn’t give up, he defeated it.
@@nejipwns28 Yes, indeed,The doctors must be his saviour, but you seem to disregard his courage and a will to living.
@@connexpert8969 not giving up is not a big deal. Thats tha same as gettin a participation award just for trying.
The will to live doesnt save ppl from disease and sickness, medicine and doctors save ppl. Belief in magic has no place in reality

@@PrechtGaebolgHades Not only western people.
@@annoyedoverripegrape1429 Generally it happens in the west. If you try to discipline your child, the authorities will come and take away your child.
Thank You, Great King❤ Your love just shines through these people.
Thank You doctors... Started my competitive preparation this year and things were not going well. Wasted a lot of time and never felt like working hard....you made me realise what true spirit and dedication could make a man do.... Thank You Li, you're a true warrior, that you chose not to back of..... you're a hero to me now, not only because you sustained this pain for so long, but because your mother believes that her son could bear any pain.... Thank You Maa... For everything you've been doing for me..... I'll make sure I achieve something which makes you proud for being my mother.... I love you so much ❤️
Poor dude, all he was worried about was his parents taking care of him the whole time too.

Sianni Strickland all he or she tryanna say is asian people love their kids so much they won’t give up to help their kids recovered part of asian culture
Sianni Strickland I don’t think you get it, there culture is way more different then here in America, and yea of course people here would do it too but you obviously can tell there culture is more committed to it and it’s great
