    • В чём мощь?Не питайся иллюзиями,ТАКР"Новороссийск"дмб 87,БЧ7,РЭБ.Всё работало на честном слове уже тогда.А взлёт-посадка этого чуда да, одним рёвом аццким могла жути навести на слабеньких духом.Даже пирса для него не было,болтался на рейде,кекеке.

  • В 70 - х работал на Саратовском авиационном заводе , где делали ЯК - 38 ,ЯК -40 , ЯК - 42 . ЯК - 38 взлетал недалеко от дома , где я жил , мы на 9 - ом этаже это всё видели - потрясающее зрелище : взлетал вертикально ,а потом улетал вдоль Волги . А потом на месте завода осталось поле , остался , правда , самый большой цех , где заканчивали сборку гражданских самолётов

    • Я работал п на НПО"СОЮЗ"где проектировали для ЯК-38.Затем для ЯК-141. Интересная работа была, а коллектив супер был.

  • Служил на БПК "Стройный", Северный Флот 1985-88. На рейде в Североморске стоял ТАКР "Киев". Когда Як-38 летали, я просто наслаждался этим зрелищем! Это что-то завораживающее!

  • Да, я вот смотрю эти кадры и понимаю, что еще СССР, тогда, в те времена, был ни менее крут, чем сейчас нам показывают американские военные с их флотом и технологиями. Очень горько и жалко, куда это всё исчезло?! Если бы не чертовы предатели, СССР сейчас был самой лучшей страной на нашем земном шаре ! Автору данного канала огромное уважение и благодарность! В повседневной жизни я таких кадров, по ТВ ни разу не видел! Да и ТВ уже как лет 8 ни я, ни моя семья не смотрит. Миру МИР!

    • The harrier came first, the russian was inspired and made variations of the yak which failed and killed many pilots. A true flying coffin

    • @@MichaelKing-tp6le "the Soviet", not the Russian, although most of Soviet aircraft engineering were in Russia. YaK 38 is a shit and its mother ship too. Soviet Navy could make an equivalent to Clementeau class carrier with some kind of MiG or Yak, I don't care, but these planes would surely better than YaK 38, which is nothing more than a character of literally every propaganda documentary about Soviet Red Fleet. Even a subsonic like Super Etendard is good for USSR.

    • I noticed that none of those aircraft had much in the way of a payload. They have a lot of trouble taking off with a or near a full payload unless they use a jump ramp or catapult system. Not enough thrust.

    • @@toliklisiy5868 In order for an aircraft to be able to take off vertically it has to have more thrust then what it weighs, which these aircraft have less thrust then their maximum take off weight. The harrier had a max takeoff weight of 31,000 pounds however only produced 23,500 pounds of thrust with an empty weight of 14,000 pounds, so they can add some 9,000 pounds of fuel and payload before they are forced to use a rolling take off. The Yak38M had an empty weight of 16,300 pounds and produced for vertical thrust 22,200 pounds making it even more limited then the harrier. The F-35B (the vertical take off version of the plane) Ive found an empty weight of 32,500 pounds with about 40,650 pounds of thrust for vertical flight, the only benefit to this system IMHO is if it is operated from a forward position where it doesn't need a lot of fuel though if it has to roll it still can take off in a short distance.

  • The Yakolev 38 was an interesting concept, but it suffered from limited operational range radius due to fuel consumption for the VTOL. It had a very low weapons payload with limited pylons, 4 but in reality only two were used. Yet, its succesur the Yak 41, was a different thing. Much more powerful engines, heavier payload, longer range radius and it was supersonic. In fact, it was generation ahead of the harrier. However, the arrival of true Soviet Air Carriers and the naval versions of the Su 27 and plans for the Mig 29 naval type, the Mig 29 K, discontinued the work of the yak 41.

    • Look up the development of the Harrier and you'll find a supersonic aircraft way ahead of the yak in the 60's. Both aircraft are futile attempts to copy British designs. Thrust vectoring is the one area that Russia is the leader of and I'm including those expensive murica jets also.

    • @@HaHa-qy9ek Да! Точно! Был у лётчиков ЯК-38 такой стишок,который так и заканчивался - ЯК ОБ ПАЛУБУ ХУЯК! И пилотов ЯК-38 можно было понять,ведь этот самолёт был самым аварийным в истории самолётостроения. Всего сделали 241 ЯК-38,а в авариях и катастрофах разбилось их аж 84! БОЛЕЕ ТРЕТИ! Да этот самолёт советские лётчики боялись больше,чем всей авиации НАТО,потому как знали - война будет или нет,но этот говносамолёт угробит их обязательно. Так что ЯК-38 по праву носит звание самого дерьмового самолёта всех времён и народов. У этого говносамолёта топливо заканчивалось через 16 минут после взлёта и радиус действия у него был всего 100 километров! А движки у этих ЯК-38 были настолько маломощные,что он,взлетая вертикально,едва мог поднять только себя и топливо,чтоб взять ещё и оружие - не могло быть и речи. И под это говно в совке построили 4 авианесущих крейсера! Умора! Совок был реально ебанутой страной!

    • Да, этот самолет был более опасен для того, кто на нем летал, чем для врага. И могли летать на нем, настоящие летчики. В плане же боевых возможностей Як-38 сильно уступал своему британскому визави и в боевом радиусе, и в боевой нагрузке, и в вооружении. И служил декорацией на наших авианесущих крейсерах.

    • Помню, помню шёл в Д,К, "СТРОИТЕЛЬ" поднялся по трапу с ул. Комсомольской на пересечении с ул. Падорина из-за скалы без предупреждения выпорхнул ЯК-38 с Киева на предельно малой .................................... все прохожие на коленки упали .............................. резь в ушах такая была, что голова вот вот лопнет............... Як ещё во взлётном режиме был и скорость горизонтальная была километров 150-200.

    • It was considered a giant piece of shit, even by the Soviets. The engineering is cool, but it was well short of being as good as the Harrier. Maybe you should save your love of engineering for the Brits or Americans. This plane was by almost all measures a dud.

Even the Russians didn't really want it...because it was always on the ground for maintenance. The plane was kind of a POS. Here: "Superficially similar to the early Harrier, the 'Forger' was burdened with two extra lift engines, which increased the basic weight and reduced the fuel capacity. Payload was about one-third that of the Mk I Sea Harrier and endurance in hot weather about 15 minutes. A constant problem was ingestion of exhaust gases back into the engine, which caused power loss. Failure of one lift jet (which had an operating life of only about 22hours) would cause an immediate uncontrollable roll. The 'solution' to this was to fit a system that automatically ejected the pilot in the event of an engine failure. Unsurprisingly, as many as one-third of Russia's 'Forgers' were lost in accidents." See? Garbage.

  • It’s really interesting to see how the Soviets seem to have had some sort of equivalent or comparable vehicle to all those of NATO. Oftentimes they even looked somewhat similar though in my opinion Soviet designs tended to be bit more boxy looking.

    • Americans were first to produce experimental VTOL X13 jet 18 years before Yak38 was introduced, but project was considered to be impractical and scraped. Soviets managed to push it through and it turned out to be trash, killed more pilots in accidents than actual enemies in combat. Abandoned instantly after soviet union fell, meanwhile 5 years older MiG 29 is still used to this day. Nowadays still VTOL is considered to be impractical, shown by F35 issues.

At the end the SU broke down and died. it was interesting to watch when your opponent(USSR) was trying to do something, and you (USA) were not straining to spend budgets on whatever you want, because you could print as much money as you want.

    • @@jigadriga5517 What a load of BS. First of all I'm not from the US but grew up in former East Germany, I've seen the collapse of the East Bloc first hand. We were bancrupt, period! And East Germany besides Czechoslavakia and Hungary had by far the best life standards in the Bloc. At the moment the wall fell, in the SU there were severe food shortages because their economy was at the end. And that mainly happened because of focus on military. It was simply economically not sustainable. Besides that there was also the problem of non existent personal freedom neither for speech nor for travel. The so called socialism as it was lived in the East Bloc was a failure because it was suppressive, in fact it wasn't Socialism in the sense of Marx and Engels but a dictatorship.

  • The wings are to small to carry significant weaponry and as you can see in this video most of the vertical takeoffs done on empty no rockets. It also has very short operational radius because the plane spent most of its fuel just for taking off.

  • I served for 7 years at such a project of ships. (Project 11432) TAKR "Minsk". A good plane for vertical take-off and landing. But very emergency. Several pilots and test pilots perished, taking off from the deck of our cruiser.

    • All VTOL planes are very risky to fly. Engine failure during hover means a certain crash. But the multiple engine design of the Yak 38 made engine failures more likely that the single engine design of the Harrier or the F 35B. That is one reason the french canceled the Mirage Balzac.
