I had just watched the whole retrospective of Dark Souls trilogy, and the god of war series. I'm sure these videos take alot more work than most of us realize. Think I can speak for most if not all your viewers when I say we really appricate the time and dedication put into these videos. Excited for everything you upload. Cheers mate.
Absolutely! They're so well created.
but still cutting it in half would have been better 2hr 🚮😑 nah fam legit fall asleep
Here here!
The pun on jojo having a bizarre adventure is awesome But the stone-cold delivery makes it god-tier 😂
I NOTICED BUT DIDNT KNOW IF IT WAS INTENTIONAL LOL.
That stone cold delivery he has is in line with Denton's own emotionless dialogues.
I was thinking I don't have any podcast to listen to while working out, then this Notification comes in clutch.
May I tell you about the "Long-Form Analysis" playlist from MightyMorphine here on KZhead? You will never run out of workout content ever again
@@saschaberger3212bless you
Watching this video while grinding lvl 100 conjuration in Skyrim was a bless kk
@saschaberger3212 Thankyou for sharing this you amazing person
@@qoopertrooper welcome to my addiction
Just when we needed him the most, Gingy returns with another Retrospective!💛
Been having one of the roughest day in my life. I can't thank you enough for the clutch upload to distract/entertain me. I love your content a lot
Hang in there!!
same having bad myself this just what i needed, hang in there friend
Thanks bro, hope everythings okay.
@@Gingy Straight Chad comment from Sir Chaddington Chadderson Chadley of Saint Chad'modius place.
I hope you're doing better man
Was not expecting a jojo reference and for you to say “based” within the same 5 minutes but I’m all for it
Gingy you’re such an amazing content creator! You have such a passion for the games you review and such a comforting voice. I love being able to watch this type of long form content to wind down and learn more about video games. Thanks for your hard work!
1:53:30 - There are too many coincidences in the game that point to Jensen being a clone. It's either a whole bunch of things, both large and small, that just so happened to fall into place, or the devs knew exactly what they were doing.
Oh shit
Someone probably already wrote this but the police asks for your papers only if you go into the "human" line on the subway. If you go through the line for aughs they won't bother you
Gingy’s videos are so simple and so easy to follow and so relaxing to listen to that l can have absolutely no intrest in a certain game but l can completely enjoy him talking about it
Saying Mothership Zeta is the worst FO3 DLC is actually insane
Point lookout dlc was probably the most boring one for me. Although I did like the whole past communist spy lore. Saying mothership zeta bad is like a saying the big empty is bad in New Vegas. It's supposed to be over the top especially when all the games back to the first game have alien encounters and weapons.
Gingy just wanted to say I definitely appreciate the amount of work you do on your videos. They is always amazing with great explanation.
Thank you for another amazing video! I was eagerly anticipating it, as the Deus Ex series are some of my favourite games, primarily because of DXMD. You mentioned not finding the station bomber, and I wanted to highlight that there's a hidden room in Golem City where you can discover emails from the bomber and Viktor Marchenko. Additionally, You also mentioned the Garm level to be lacklustre, which I agree, there are some interesting documents there that provide more insight into certain aspects of the story. One aspect I particularly enjoyed about DXMD is its almost FromSoft-style storytelling, via hiding documents around the world and incorporating hidden quests that activate only if you find or know certain things. (I apologise for gushing about this game) but the level design and its tightness are qualities I've rarely found in other games. There's consistently more than one path to any objective, and none of them feel tacked on. and again thank you for another amazing video!
I really love how you can cover the story of so many games in just one 2 hour video. I just finished your Dark souls retrospective after finishing the game myself. I can see how much effort went into making these so thank you. I’d love if you covered the whole Thief story in the future.
Thanks as always for the mad work you doing Bro
This took long for you I can see with the community post and I am glad you followed the process and for making me happy today 😁
I’ve watched all of your videos and intend to continue to do so. Thanks bro 🤙🏼
Thanks man, now I`ve gotta re-install all of these & play through them again in release order! Nice video, appreciate the work.
Ive been looking for a video like this for years and finally got it you are my hero!!
An inspiration for young channels, Gingy thank you for your work over the years. You're amazing 🙏
I finished original Deus Ex this year in February, I tried playing it years ago, and I dont know why, but I never played it more than 2 hours. Then I finally decided I will give it one more chance, and oh boy, I surely was missing one of the most important games of all time. Now its in my top 5 video games of all time, a classic.
Excited for another Gingy video! Love your stuff man
Great retrospective as always! Props for even going on to play the spin offs, might give breach a shot now.
Finally lol. I know it takes a lot work to make these so it's appreciated. I'm just glad you did Deus Ex. Definitely gonna watch when i get off work.
Hearing you just mention Thief makes me itch for a Dishonored retrospective.
Thank you for this video, this is my favorite games series. Hope these kind of videos will inspire another Deus Ex game to be made soon.
I like when you go see Sam Carter at the armoury in the first game and the game punishes you by not giving you ammo if you select the dialogue option that suggests you've been running around killing everyone instead of paying attention to the story and limiting the body count by using stealth/skills/augs along side your weapons. A gentle hint to explore more ways to do things
Another great video, thanks for putting in so much work for our enjoyment 😁
Great content as always bro!
Love you and your content. Keep up the amazing work ❤
Thanks for making this video! I'm in my mid twenties but found the deus ex series as a teenager long time ago. Confused at first what it was about but my ideologies and thoughts became more fine tuned over the years, I enjoy these games so much more now.
You know what? Good on you for pointing out the American internment camps. We like to vilify the Nazis for their camps (and rightly so, that shit was messed up) but rarely do people talk about the American equivalent (not that we ran experiments or gassed them but the living conditions were absolutely terrible.)
I love your channel and your breakdowns of some of my favorite games and their stories. The way you speak has a calm tone that I enjoy just as much as vaatividya. Genuinely love your work. (Your statements on mothership zeta in fallout 3 blew my mind because that’s probably my 2nd favorite dlc from one of my favorite games ever and I don’t think Iv EVER heard anyone say anything bad about mothership zeta 😭)
Thank you for your content. I see the Dark Souls Retrospective first and discovered the channel afterwards. Great content for core gamers!
Woohoo new Gingy is here! Thank you for the quality as always
Great timing! This will help at work!
Small error 25:36, it's a Universal Constructor, not conductor. It can build objects from nanoscale materials.
These retrospectives are pleasing to listen to
Just finished your MGS one 😂 will give this a listen now before bed 😂 I'd love a dragon age one!
Yes!!! All my faves been coming out with new lengthy vids! Favorite Son, I Finished a Video Game, Salt, Boy Aqua, now Gingy!!!
Well that's sad. I had just assumed the series had something I missed after MD. But to hear they just canned the series at this point isn't very fun. I hope they get another chance at it
Deus Ex is fantastic, I was obsessed by the first game and I hope someday they bring this history to the cinema
You dont hear too many people talk about invisible war which is unfortinate cause it had some of the coolest world building in my opinion
Thanks for another excellent retrospective
I remember being 10 and playing the first Deus ex such a great gaming experience on the PlayStation completed that then invisible war and cleared that then human revolution was such a nice surprise and it was a good blend of the future but it's also the past because it's set before the first game and mankind divided was a good game but I always find myself going back to the first Deus ex I mean it's years later and people are still holding it up as a great game that says a lot
I was a little kid when human revolution came out and I remember being really excited to play that game. I didnt actually play it until after highschool and I was extremely disappointed in the gameplay, so much so that i dropped it after 2 hours. I honestly didnt know that the story of these games was so interesting maybe I will try to give it another chance
Crazy amount of detail. I enjoyed it
My day just got a lot better at work let's gooooo!
Fire as always
Hey, thanks for the great content! I hit the Like and subscribe.
finished every adam's games and want to play DE1 since i want to play in the correct timeline. jensen games are amazing. the absurdity of consipracy theories is toned down but the gameplay is improved
yay, new retrospective!
God I hope they manage to continue the series. Gdamn Square and their weird relationship with IP's they acquire. Hitman survived and thrived after they got rid of it so i hope Deus Ex can do the same.
One factor you missed with the Javik DLC is a code for it it was included as standard with retal copies of the game much like the Catwoman DLC for Arkham CIty or Mechromancer for Borderlands 2. Meaning people that bought the games new got the DLC for free but those buying pre-owned would have to pay for it as way to reclaim something from lost sales to the second hand market similar to the online passes other games like the Assassins creed series had.
Congratulations on making what somehow still only the third longest Deus EX retrospective
I'm currently playing Deus Ex Revolution and Mankind. Hadn't been able to find a video like this.
Can't wait to see you do the 36 hours video about kingdom hearts
I watched this video before I heard the news, It's so over for Deus Ex bros...
Hi i was thinking that a detriot become human would be awesome video because of its great story.I love your work.
Ah, yes. Long retrospectives. The longer, the better. My most favorite type of gaming content on YT. Thank you. :)
When world needed him, he returned!
You know Boris Johnson said almost verbatim "Let the bodies fill up the streets". This was supposed to be a dark satire, not reality
Most of your videos are analysis based. So the few jokes you sprinkle in there always hits so hard.
Could you do splinter cell? I love listening to your videos in the background before I go to sleep
Dues ex I feel is one sentence. What does UT mean to be human and what does it take to lose being a human.
My all time favourite series. Appreciate you for making this!
I played the shit out of this game when it came out, but somehow forgot EVERYTHING said in this video.. Thnx bro..
Any video about Deus Ex gets an instant like from me .
This and Ross´ Game Dungeo are the best Deus Ex videos
I loved Human Revolution and Mankind Divided. Mankind Divided is after Cyberpunk 2077 my most played Cyberpunk game. I hope so much that there will be a Deus Ex 6.
Ok, thats cool and all but did Adam ever asked for this or not?
Complicated answer
The T in Apostlecorp is silent. It's one of the many biblical references, along with J.C Denton referring to Jesus Christ; Paul, his brother is an apostle of Jesus, and he obviously is known to be the Son of God, which has JC becoming God at the end. And further, Adam - being the first man to become augmented, is like Adam from Genesis, the first of God's human creations.
Great Video
Despite the ending problems, I still consider this to be my favorite Deus Ex game.
Dark Souls trilogy video was fire! And dark! I think you’d very much enjoy Hotline Miami and it’s subsequent sequel. Plenty of wonderful perspectives to pull from a game that I’d consider one of the most violent and disgusting (in a good way) indie games I’ve played.
Deus Ex has passively become one of my favorite games, as weird a phrase as that is. I enjoy conpiracies so much that the first game being about them immediately caught my interest. Shame though that it came out before i was able to understand how to play ( I was about 5 at the time). I got into human revolution about 2 years after it came out, knowing nothing about the series. I quickly became a fan and was so excited when they annouced mankind. But just like most people, i was slightly disappointed that it was short and that it once again really only revolved around augments. I understand that it gave the story more polish but it's what made the series so interesting to me, all the conspiracies they could have visualized and made into interesting thematic pieces. And as for playing the first game, I just can't. It's obviously before the standardized control we're so used to on pc. And don't even get me started with the gameplay ( the tranq darts not knocking someone out with a single heads hot, I blame MGS for that). I'll eventually play through it myself. Anyways, it's a treat to listen to your videos at work and I'm always eagerly waiting for the next upload! Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays! I also think MGS ruined the tranq darts for me as well lol. Thanks for the donation :)
I'd honestly love a Gingy style restrospective on BG3 and Rogue Trader
The Deus Ex franchise is my favorite of all time. The first Deus Ex game was a revelation in all sorts of ways. I did enjoy Invisible War, flaws and all. DX:HR was amazing, and I thoroughly enjoyed DX:MD, though the abrupt ending was jarring. The future seems bleak, but I do hope that, somehow, one more game gets made to give Adam Jensen the send-off he deserves.
No matter who you were when you saw janus build in shades you soooooo wanted build in shades
The first one purchased and downloaded not too long ago on Steam from a game bundle and there's a error that never allowed it to run.
History buff here with a counter because I notice a lot of people miss this factoid, and this video does the same. Regarding the Japanese concentration camps; they were not solely to detain, they had a two-fold intent. Yes they were meant to detain any Japanese sympathizers and spies hiding among the populace (and yes there WERE a number of them), but the other reason for the camps was to PROTECT Japanese-Americans from retalitory violence from the populace. Lot of people seem to conveniently forget that tidbit and never bring it up. Let me be clear I am not condoning the camps, but it annoys me when people mention this historical fact and negates to include the whole picture.
Wait, couldn't you save Miller? I could swear I did that by hoarding something, he's not bound to die I think, it's been some time. Gotta say tho, I loved every entry xcept invisible war but I have a soft spot for Mankind Divided. It gets the short end of the stick for being a middle entry and inconclusive but so what, the ride was fun and the side quests are more fleshed out than any before plus a bank heist and the clone conspiracy. There's so much packed in a short game but if anything that makes it more appealing and tightly designed and Prague felt nice to inhabit as a quest hub.
Do you upload audio only versions of your videos on like goggle podcast or spotify or anywhere?
Sadly I do not. I havent really considered it to be fair.
@Gingy I personally enjoy simply listing to your videos while I work, play or relax. I'm not sure of the logistics to getting your videos onto audio platforms but it's something I would enjoy. Love your stuff, keep it up!
liked and downloaded, now lets dig in
Me and my brother loved playing this he was way more into it I miss him rip 🙏
I know you did a video on Cyberpunk but it was before the expansion and 2.1 update.
Yessss it’s out!
Just saw this on my recommended, let’s fucking GOOOO!
19:20 .."yeah we don't have people who claim the president is an alien".. Oh, my sweet summer child.
i could love for you to cover the game Darkwood
Excited for the 10 hour Baldurs Gate review 😬
Right on time.
You should probably do these of adventure games, especially the classics. Their playability isn't great but storywise much better than most games even today
Just watched your alan wake vid. Hope you can find time for that break!
Hey Gingy, do you reckon you'll get around to doing Days Gone at some point?
Will you analyze metal gear solid three delta when it releases
honestly think the clone theory is *sort of* correct, what if we are playing as the real Jensen and the one we see in the box is actually a template for the future Dentons? we know JC was implanted somewhere in 2028 and born in 2029, so what if they used Jensens DNA to then use Dentons without any drawbacks (no neuropozyne required and no limits to augmentation)? i honestly think that makes more sense regarding the clone theory, they did clone Jensen but we still play as the same one from HR they just needed a template thats resistant to the rejection of augs to then start making their agents for future UNATCO, as for the real Jensen he had the new augs installed in him in GARM like the game says later on
best game ever. i remember buying it from Electronics Boutique the day it came out
The only disappointment I have is that I can't use this while sleeping later on since it's not 8 hours. Awesome work.
Awesome video my man! One comment thought for 18:13 We are social creatures, not truth seeking creatures. We do not want to be correct, we want to belong somewhere. That maybe explains the whole conspiracy theorist dilemma a bit.
