The eliminator kit uses an up-pipe and stock exhaust mani. I bought an aftermarket highflow t28 mani, then fabricated my own downpipe and intake. I could def get a better tune, but i don't want to spend the extra 700-1000 for a dyno tune when i have so many other project cars that i rather put money towards.

How much whp was the 1.8t putting down at the time, and how about now at 35 psi....which is crazy. At least that's unheard of with us MKV/MK6 big turbo guys. I'm guessing 260-270 whp during the videotaped run?

The audi should have been at-least 400 awhp, and over 430awtq. With where my tune was at i most-likely wasn't more than 370whp with 330ish wtq. I went into the race expecting a loss, but was curious how bad. My hotrod all motor should be around 500whp.

I think k04-064 would be perfect for built 1.8T (you can get around 360hp crank), but with very usable power curve and quick spool, low-end torque too. For daily drive, not much point in 360hp+ that comes so late, and is dead at low/mid end.

My tune was horrible. The car has been long sold and everything I build now is at minimum 1000hp at the crank. BUT there are a lot more efficient turbos, manifold designs and options to compensate with tuning now to build boost earlier.

Did you tune it yourself? It's just a simple value that needs to be increased in your tune. It's called "max boost with throttle applied", increase that and you probably would have been door to door with that S4 :)

Homebrew 630cc tune. Not quite sure where my issue is in the tune, i just don't have time to try and figure it out. Boost is up another 5 lbs since the videos from this day, still spools slow, but will spin 3rd at 80mph.

What do you mean you ignored the rest of the kit? Like you didn't use the turbo manifold that came with the kit? But if I were you, I'd take your car to a dyno. A lot of those guys are super experienced with mapping that stuff.

Internal, its basically a gt28r hotside with internal gate and gt30 cold housing. It's what comes with the gt30 atp eliminator kit, i basically took the turbo from the kit and ignored the rest of the kit.

If you had a ported cylinder head and 2.5 inch boost pipe with full 3 inch exhaust and a correct tune on 660 injectors that gt3071 will hang with that audi, and you will smoke it if you gut the entire interior of the car. The car only weighs 2400 lbs fully gutted. A posi unit in the diff really helps also.

@@zedgerton73 100% correct. My tune sucked. It dropped all boost between shifts and didn’t spool quickly enough. Tuned it myself and never figured out how to change it with the stock ECU. I gave up after multiple blown transmission since it couldn’t hold the power anyways.

Erick Narvaez EBay t28 mani. IE Rods and new rings. Block was honed only, not machined. All done without removing block from the car. Just pulled the head and pushed the pistons and rods up from the bottom. Crank stayed in place as well.

Massachusetts inspection sticker. Where are you from? I'm from Revere and Somerville/Melrose. Where did you get your work done? I can't find anyone to do a bigger turbo install for me, I already have a few brand new turbos but I want a gt28, and I'm having a problem with my SAI and can't find a shop to do the delete, PCV delete, A.C. Delete, and a couple other engine deletes. The previous owner put a 3" downpipe, 4" mid section with cat delete to a 5" muffler delete. I have an entire Jetta front end in the dark VW green but my cars tornado red, I still might do it? My head is built with a stock block, and forged rods. And little things here and there. I need to find an expert, someone who has already built and knows these engines. Any help would be really appreciated. That Audi is beautiful. I seen one just like it in Everett a few years ago and I've wanted one ever since. An acquaintance went to jail and sold his b5 mint, yellow from Stoneham (I think?) for 500$ for canteen money. just missed it. Anyways, that's a K04 on the 1.8T B5 Audi? OMG, I was thinking of getting a K04-001 for a 1.8T Cupra or one of the many VAG cars in Europe. Thanks

Is that route 3 before the merge going northbound before the plaza and T Station? I'm trying to think of two lane highways around Boston and I know that's a MA inspection sticker. How much to build my 1.8T, or do the SAI, EVAP, PCV, delete and tune with a gt28 install? I'm serious! I have so many parts and was about to start everything myself but I don't feel confident and I have nowhere to do the work. I'm trying to rent a garage in like Everett and Somerville how there's like 30 little units in a old building behind some house on main st Everett to store your car in, but they're all rented out for years. My ECU had a 95 octane tune and when the dealership put the vag com computer and flashed the ECU with an upgrade it ruined everything, runs so rich it sounds like an AR blasting every time I shift. Will you tune it or can you recommend a ECU tuner or install or recommend an instant for the REVO ECU? The dealer in South Boston wouldn't do it because he didn't want to get in trouble because it's for off road use only, like I care, I have a R sticker for it being to loud with all the deletes even though it passed. If your busy, it's just going to sit another winter and if you can recommend someone, it would be really appreciated. +fockyoumang I do all my own work. Im not a mechanic and don't like working on other peoples cars. Top Gear performance in Gloucester does all sorts of big turbo cars. I personally know the owner and he walked me through my engine rebuild.

I can install the turbo, but I don't feel confident with all the accessories upgrades a bigger turbo will need. That Audi is just 1.8T with a K04? what model K04? K04-052? I was just going to use the Cupra K04-001 so it fits the Billy Bass downpipe

I've honestly never had it dyno'ed always street tuned. Yup it was prob around 270ish during this run. Now it should be around 400ish. It's a pretty useless powerband though. With the old trans and 15 allseasons it would spin 3rd. Waiting on a new trans to be put together with a dif. Tune still needs serious work though, boost comes on too slow, so it's a very peaky powerband.

Ya seems like a 3071 would be kinda laggy. Now there's a company that works the ko4 over with bigger billet compressor and suchlike. They claim 300 wheel. I guess we'll see. I might go bigger later, but I don't want to be waiting for boost till 4k or even 3k rpms.

Freight training? Tremor? Odd terms here. His suspension is probably worn in some places, he could be missing hubcentric rings, hell his tires could be worn uneven. Jetta looks just fine here.

Nope, without coding out the brake throttle cut off you can't brake boost a 1.8t on stock computer. The computer realizes the brake is on, and there is high boost value and cuts your throttle input.

The ko4 s4 was over 400awtq. The jetta is currently at 35psi, was atleast 10psi less in the video. @ 35psi, the car will spin 3rd gear at 80mph and would still loose.

I have a jetta used to have it with aeb head and bigport manifold, gt2871, and wouldnt beat anything, just doesnt grip, unles u are at the drag with slicks... went oem k03s hybrid and works alot better

“Stages” are what shops make them to be and others follow. One shop’s stage 3 doesn’t need to be the same as another, but they’re usually power price point similar for marketing.

Nothing beats the twins ask limo plus 2.7 is the racing engine built from factory that can take 600 with out building the block when block built it can reach 1200+ hp The 1.8 good for 600 built witch is awesome But if you got the money I will do it the right way an build 2.7 all the way 90% of rs4s in Europe are running 2.7 twins with hybrid KO4s them not 1.8 not vr6 an never single turbos in 2.7 at all If you don’t have the money maybe to single turbo but still won’t see full potential🤷🏽♂️ travel a little bit to see it for yourself

mikesanto70 the difference is the one with the GT3071 is a 1.8T and the S4 is a 2.7 TT with K04's and stage 3.. don't matter how big your turbo is just because you have a big turbo don't mean you'll beat every one ..

To the OP, think of it as a a single 4 cylinder 1.8T GT3071r up against two almost 1.4T K04 3 cylinder engines. Tuned. Stg 3. No match.

Maybe on 110 octane... my buddy has a stage 3 s4 with rs6 k04 hybrids and hes making a little under 500awtq and around 460 awhp on 93 and 510 on 110 octane

V6 twin k04's > 1.8t gt3071r in this situation. Both are pretty dang fast though.
I feel like the 1.8t didn’t have a map that took advantage of the bt. It should have been closer
@@zedgerton73 100% correct. My tune sucked. It dropped all boost between shifts and didn’t spool quickly enough. Tuned it myself and never figured out how to change it with the stock ECU. I gave up after multiple blown transmission since it couldn’t hold the power anyways.

Erick Narvaez EBay t28 mani. IE Rods and new rings. Block was honed only, not machined. All done without removing block from the car. Just pulled the head and pushed the pistons and rods up from the bottom. Crank stayed in place as well.

I can't find anyone to do a bigger turbo install for me, I already have a few brand new turbos but I want a gt28, and I'm having a problem with my SAI and can't find a shop to do the delete, PCV delete, A.C. Delete, and a couple other engine deletes. The previous owner put a 3" downpipe, 4" mid section with cat delete to a 5" muffler delete. I have an entire Jetta front end in the dark VW green but my cars tornado red, I still might do it? My head is built with a stock block, and forged rods. And little things here and there. I need to find an expert, someone who has already built and knows these engines. Any help would be really appreciated. That Audi is beautiful. I seen one just like it in Everett a few years ago and I've wanted one ever since. An acquaintance went to jail and sold his b5 mint, yellow from Stoneham (I think?) for 500$ for canteen money. just missed it. Anyways, that's a K04 on the 1.8T B5 Audi? OMG, I was thinking of getting a K04-001 for a 1.8T Cupra or one of the many VAG cars in Europe. Thanks
Is that route 3 before the merge going northbound before the plaza and T Station? I'm trying to think of two lane highways around Boston and I know that's a MA inspection sticker. How much to build my 1.8T, or do the SAI, EVAP, PCV, delete and tune with a gt28 install? I'm serious! I have so many parts and was about to start everything myself but I don't feel confident and I have nowhere to do the work. I'm trying to rent a garage in like Everett and Somerville how there's like 30 little units in a old building behind some house on main st Everett to store your car in, but they're all rented out for years. My ECU had a 95 octane tune and when the dealership put the vag com computer and flashed the ECU with an upgrade it ruined everything, runs so rich it sounds like an AR blasting every time I shift. Will you tune it or can you recommend a ECU tuner or install or recommend an instant for the REVO ECU? The dealer in South Boston wouldn't do it because he didn't want to get in trouble because it's for off road use only, like I care, I have a R sticker for it being to loud with all the deletes even though it passed. If your busy, it's just going to sit another winter and if you can recommend someone, it would be really appreciated. +fockyoumang I do all my own work. Im not a mechanic and don't like working on other peoples cars. Top Gear performance in Gloucester does all sorts of big turbo cars. I personally know the owner and he walked me through my engine rebuild.
+marcello7x they only do vw and Audi? I just need a tune right now. I don't care about the dyno. Just need the ECU back how it was from previous owner. I can install the turbo, but I don't feel confident with all the accessories upgrades a bigger turbo will need. That Audi is just 1.8T with a K04? what model K04? K04-052? I was just going to use the Cupra K04-001 so it fits the Billy Bass downpipe
I've honestly never had it dyno'ed always street tuned. Yup it was prob around 270ish during this run. Now it should be around 400ish. It's a pretty useless powerband though. With the old trans and 15 allseasons it would spin 3rd. Waiting on a new trans to be put together with a dif. Tune still needs serious work though, boost comes on too slow, so it's a very peaky powerband.
Ya seems like a 3071 would be kinda laggy. Now there's a company that works the ko4 over with bigger billet compressor and suchlike. They claim 300 wheel. I guess we'll see. I might go bigger later, but I don't want to be waiting for boost till 4k or even 3k rpms.

Freight training? Tremor? Odd terms here. His suspension is probably worn in some places, he could be missing hubcentric rings, hell his tires could be worn uneven. Jetta looks just fine here.
Nope, without coding out the brake throttle cut off you can't brake boost a 1.8t on stock computer. The computer realizes the brake is on, and there is high boost value and cuts your throttle input.
Still kinda there tbh even with a s4 thats probably on rs6 turbos.
The ko4 s4 was over 400awtq. The jetta is currently at 35psi, was atleast 10psi less in the video. @ 35psi, the car will spin 3rd gear at 80mph and would still loose.
7 yrs too late, lol. Spin at 80mph open diff? Either way seems like u need drag radials or triple R's. Nice run seems like once boost hit u stopped the gapping. Still got the car?
I have a jetta used to have it with aeb head and bigport manifold, gt2871, and wouldnt beat anything, just doesnt grip, unles u are at the drag with slicks... went oem k03s hybrid and works alot better

This is a bit late but the s4 has 2 turbos and is a 2.7l v6 compared to a single on a 1.8l engine

“Stages” are what shops make them to be and others follow. One shop’s stage 3 doesn’t need to be the same as another, but they’re usually power price point similar for marketing.

Nothing beats the twins ask limo plus 2.7 is the racing engine built from factory that can take 600 with out building the block when block built it can reach 1200+ hp The 1.8 good for 600 built witch is awesome But if you got the money I will do it the right way an build 2.7 all the way 90% of rs4s in Europe are running 2.7 twins with hybrid KO4s them not 1.8 not vr6 an never single turbos in 2.7 at all If you don’t have the money maybe to single turbo but still won’t see full potential🤷🏽♂️ travel a little bit to see it for yourself

mikesanto70 the difference is the one with the GT3071 is a 1.8T and the S4 is a 2.7 TT with K04's and stage 3.. don't matter how big your turbo is just because you have a big turbo don't mean you'll beat every one ..
To the OP, think of it as a a single 4 cylinder 1.8T GT3071r up against two almost 1.4T K04 3 cylinder engines. Tuned. Stg 3. No match.
I daily a b5 s4 and trust me that stage 3 s4 is making about 450hp, plus has more displacement than the 4 banger
