Regards to strentgth exercises I think independent of your Sport, back Squat / Bench Press / Rows and Shloulder Press always will be the base and all explosive movements would be trained during the sport itself. I afirmed that because since 2000 I tried all diferent kind of methodologies / drills to improve my game and now on my 45 years old I can tell all of you I got my best improvements just doing compound movements at 65-70% rm and just playing the game.

  • Great content! I use very similar program - A) Core/Stability/foundation vs Sport Specific moves B) Proprioception/Unilateral/Dynamic movement in all 3 planes C) Strength overload/Deceleration/Eccentrics D) Max power&Acceleration/Plyos (deload static wt, add bands)... application of the proper movements/techniques specific to the sport for young athletes is so crucial. Most youth coaches have the kids training the WRONG ENERGY SYSTEMS ! But I have to disagree w ya about the Bulls strength & conditioning status in the early-mid 90's being better than today's. The vast increase in exercise science knowledge, superior training equipment , and most of all, the nutrition/supp & recovery focus of todays NBA athletes is way beyond in my book. What the Bulls had was grit & determination. And # 23 lol.

Even Armstrong played like a modern day power forwards. Would you recommend this video to someone where their play style was more focused on shooting? I haven’t looked through all your videos (but I’ll try). Do you have a video on workouts you would suggest for guards? Great video once again.
