They are bastards. They tried to milk it too hard and ripped the udders right off, then acted so shocked and surprised when everyone pointed out what a bad job they were doing. Typical AAA hubris. Blizzard are the worst offender right now, I doubt they will get what they deserve though.
killed it after a free weekend which seen their highest player count and just as star wars was getting big again with all the tv shows. They could have had an endless amount of content such as new characters, skins etc. Such a braindead decision to kill it when they did.

Yeah star wars battlefront II had alot of potential
The release itself wasnt the issue. The Live Service bullshit was. And its honestly GOOD that the game died, instead of being up there with No Man's Sky, Sea Of Thieves & Cyberpunk, games that fucked up, shouldve stayed dead, and bouncing back means a lesson is never learned. Anyway, ALL live services need to die off. And I guess there's major progress on that this year, because live service games have been dying left & right.
The problem is that there is barely any content at release and then it is very slowly released over time because triple A games are forcibly rushed to release. No man's sky and Sea of Thieves are good examples of this and even bf 2042 is now apparently semi decent (Idk I haven't tried it). I've had quite a good experience with NMS and SoT but when they released at a high price with little content (despite great foundations for content) it's easy to see how people get frustrated.
@@Walt_Xander94 I can understand Cyberpunk... But NMS and SoT?! I can understand, lesson wasn't learned... but the people who made the games were like: OH SHIT, we f'ed up! Well.... lets actually genuinely fix it! Now they are amazing games i would recommend to anyone. I would rather devs GENUINELY fix the game (instead of token fixing when it was too late), than have this game they spent so much time on just... not exist. (Especially NMS thats basically an indie studio)

Not to mention that all of the game modes should have been in Instant Action from the grt go, not locked behind Multiplayer, much like Battlefront 2 Classic where all of the game modes are accessible in Instant Action
Kyber has a new version in testing which supports 24/7 servers, which the test server was in your screenshot. Once out of testing, it will automatically add bots to fill the servers and hopefully will get people playing more often. BF2022 had some nice heroes but isn't being updated, and BF+ is a much more fleshed out package.
BF2022 (Battlefront 2022) is a much better mod to play offline (Instant Action mode, to be more precise). It has the coolest new heroes, less errors and it is way more polished than BF+ (Battlefront Plus). The "Collections" screen of BF+ is all broken. Who cares about adding "Rick the Door Technician" as a hero? BF+ is more of a big meme and I don't like it. BF2022 did it better.

Wow, those mods looks really cool. Btw, about the interrogation people can have about the battle of Geonosis, why Separatist lost the battle: it's simply because, since Palpatine's plan was to get way more influence and disturbance in the galaxy, it would required more time. So the droids received the order to fall back, letting only a portion to fight back, a part of the plan the Geonosian didn't knew about it... they wouldn't had accepted to get slaughtered otherwise. And it's the reason, like Yoda said, that "the clone war just has begin".
Exactly this. It was part of the Sith grand plan to ensure the war began. Else, yes, the droid army would probably have won battle of Geonosis by sheer numbers.
@@Nintendoggy It could also be explained as a way to escape the Republic blockade. Even if they'd won on the ground their army would have been trapped. There could be other off-screen reasons such as commando raids.

I really wish we could get the modding community together into a giant dev team to create battlefront 3. There’s so much potential here especially when it comes to maps, characters, etc. Honestly I think crowdfunding would give them more motivation for sure

This was great Bombastic! Would love to see this be a series! I have had so many great moments with this game and will always love the game for what it was but having mods with it makes it a lot better!

Clones had the droids outgunned. If you remember there was a scene towards the end of the Battle of Geonosis where the LA-AT Gunships were just wiping out droid units left and right. Superior firepower outclasses superior numbers.
This is a concept a lot of people miss all the time when talking about the Clone Wars. In current Canon there is multiple examples pointing out that the Republic Tactics during the war would have eventually prevailed. But people just look at the Numbers and think that the CIS would win because they had a numerical advantage of inferior weapons, vehicles, and "Soldiers"

@@mouse3872That doesn't make any sense the part that is more confusing about "how" the Republic won isn't that they had less numbers, because overwhelming firepower and attacking only one small point of the planet in order to rescue Anakin and Obi Wan and Padme makes sense. They could rush in, land, secure the prisoners and leave, placing down some Clone heavy artillery as a sacrifice to damage any Separatist units trying to follow, in order to delay the CIS long enough for the Republic to escape back to Coruscant. What doesn't make sense is how did an entire Republic fleet slip out of hyperspace, get close enough to the planet without being noticed, then go into atmosphere and conduct a landing operation all without raising any sort of alert or planetary defences? It can't be explained by Dooku really, Dooku was a Separatist, why would he lose on purpose? He's presumably aware that Palpatine is his master Darth Sidious, as he tells Obi Wan this in Ep2. Being a Sith he would have an ulterior plan to try and kill his master. So Palpatine's plan is create the war, force the Separatists to lose because he really controls Dooku who controls the Separatist leadership, use the war to give himself complete power of the Republic. Dooku's plan should therefore be to backstab Palpatine at some point during the war, play along long enough to let it get to the point where the CIS is winning, then perhaps during the kidnap of Palpatine actually execute him and continue the war, and win. (this likely would have worked had Anakin not been involved in the defence of Coruscant, and even explains why Dooku was there on that ship, because he was planning to kill Palpatine and immediately seat himself on Senate throne once the ground battle was won...) But early on in the war "throwing" so the enemy can seize your main military production planet doesn't make sense.

Maybe they should have switched from a live-service game to making additional DLCs for it. That would have given them enough funds to keep it going while also allowing for them to create what they want.

Yah can take down tanks with a lightsaber in battlefront. Sometimes it’s a last resort when you can’t escape but you got ss sort of jump in them then it’s sometimes hit and miss but it’s quite funny because you can seem them panicking, struggling to target you.
Old classic Star Wars Republic Commando hints that clone commando teams have sabotaged all the droid manufacturing facilities. Other important targets, such as command and control centers, logistics hubs and so on were probably disabled too. Having all the eggs in one basket didn't help the Seps. That's why the Republic won the first battle of Geonosis. Although with significant casualties.
Majority of the commandos were on the front lines. Half of the original 10,000 commandos died on Geonosis. Only a token amount of Commando squads were assigned to destroy the factories. Delta Squad did the original job and the regs followed suit with the mop up.
The droids losing on Geonosis was an inside job

You can attack tanks with lightsabers it’s pretty janky but for AAT tanks you can jump on top on the base and slash away. It’s just about the hit box

Me and a fellow modder are working on a mod for EA battlefront 2 called “Realistic Overhaul” This mod aims to overhaul the health and damage system to be a more movie accurate tactical experience. This mod will prioritize realism and accuracy to the Star Wars movies, while also maintaining balancing between characters. The overhaul will affect troopers, heroes, and reinforcements. Some other changes will be that Friendly fire will be present, rockets will be more effective against vehicles, recoil and weapon sway will be more present, snipers will one shot, grenades will be more realistic, and star card abilities (thise affecting damage and health) will be balanced. One example of balancing will be that the droidekas shield will be op similar to how it is in the movies, but when their shield is down they have low health especially when rolling (1.25 damage multiplier) similar to the OG bf games. We plan to release a beta within the next three weeks, with a full 1.0 release coming in late May or early June. Let me know if you have suggestions or questions! I want this to be a community based project built for the fans! Also I plan to run this mod with a few others on a kyber V2 server this summer. May the force be with you.
Seeing Cal in this game is so cool! I mean EA produced Jedi Survivor it's kind of weird how he didn't ever show up. I know that respawn made the game and everything but still. Cal is my favorite Jedi and I would just love to see him included in more Star Wars media

Thats awesome, unfortunately I Didn't play SWBF2 in ita prime, but i got it last year and played through its campaign etc, its rare to get in a server unfortunately. I don't play it much but if i do jump on its always offline, seeing all the characters, and new maps? Makes me want to get it and play again
The reason the Separatists lost on Geonosis is because Dooku made them lose on purpose. Because like you said the Republic brought their entire military there and if the Separatists won then the Republic would lose the war along with their army before the war actually started.
