Roger roger! Which Battle Droid variant is your favorite?
Maybe the Commando Droid, they’re pretty cool.
My favorite battle droid variants are all b1 battle Droids commando droids magna guards droidekas aqua droids super battle Droids super tactical Droids dwarf spider droids Crab Droids and rocket super battle Droids
I forgot about Magnaguards and Aqua droids
Magnaguards go hard
bx commando droid
Honestly if Darth Sideous wasn’t sabotaging the separatist movement the CIS could’ve been the greatest army in galactic history. I might be way in over my head but the CIS Droid Army will always be my favorite. Plenty of amazing droids and excellent variation
Yeah till the vong showed up then everyone is super fucked
@nihil2262 not really they made their biological weapons ships and armor to fight 2 droids who evolved to have the powers of gods and their literally armies who in their fight aginst each other wiped out all living beings in their way. Their weapons were made specifically for destroying all droids. That was one of their biggest issues with the republic. When they showed up, they saw what machines did in their galaxy and didn't want a repeat. Also they dont take advantage of biological weakness their weaponry its just so advanced nothing anyone can make will fight it.
They aren't even the "bad guys" most separatists just wanted out of a republic that was already falling apart.
The thing is, the goal of the separatists wasn't necessarily to have a great imperial state. Let's say Sidious is out of the equation - Dooku would have tried to reform the Republic, forcefully but fairly to some extent. The droid army would probably be used as a threat, an occupation force, but also a task force in case of catastrophes or to assist the Jedi. Let's remember that one of the core reasons behind the very start of the Separatist movement if the refusal of the Republic to police the confine of the Republic, where pirates, slavers and smugglers had free reign. So contrarily to the Empire, the Republic under Dooku would likely concentrate its forces in its borders, to fight against real threats, instead of using it as a police force. For most people, life would be the same. Dooku would be strict to the point of cruelty and the repression would be cold-blooded, but he would also be fair and ready to use diplomacy.
@@matthewchristian9591 I don't know about that. Per some old EU material a unit of B2s got reactivated during the Vong War and handily repelled an invasion of the world they were assigned to.
While droids like the B3 and Droideka are certainly awesome and stronger troops, my favourite will always be the B1 The fact that they developed a personality and are more 'sentient' is 1 of the things that made the Clone Wars and other media like Lego Star Wars and Jedi Survivor so great
hi dude how are you
@@thesadistor-hl7lw Pretty good, thanks for asking You?
@@jotheunissen9274 your welcome man so can I ask you something please
Roger
What’s the question?
I love the separatists, the idea every tank, troop, and fighter is a somewhat sentient being capable of emotion is insane. Like take a look at the octoputarra for example, what are they thinking about? What is going on inside there head? Do those “monstrous units” communicate. It’s like the tyranids, where massive vehicles and tanks are living organisms, but these are machines, it’s amazing, and there designs are so cool
The droidika is my favorite battle droid. I love the sound of the blaster bolts, the unique insect look of them and the energy shield.
Same, they're so cool
My favourite is the BX commando droids… it’s so cool and badass… Their well armed, armored, strong, and quick… If they were the main droid replacing the B1 droid in separatist alliance armies the war could have lasted longer, been more brutal, and many more alternative scenarios could’ve have happened…
The Sepratists would have won the clone wars rather quickly. Commandos are too good at their job that the writers had to scale back their power for main characters.
@@funveeablenah nightsisters owned them
@@Ty-nw5sxthe nightsisters were slaughtered
@@Ty-nw5sxyou mean night-slaughtered?
wasn't it in the Clone Commando game that the commando's actually found out the droid army out numbered the clones something stupid like 10'000 to 1? and they figured there was some kind of plot going on behind the scenes since Doku wasn't just sending millions of droids to straight up wipe out any clone base
the droids were the primary force of the separatists, as many separatists planets were not individually represented in the senate. The clones were a supplementary force to republic PDFs, and mostly served as space marines for planetary invasions. So even if the droids outnumber the clones like that, the CIS still has to transport, power, and set up all those droids, which is balanced by the PDFs already existing
Best army in the Sw universe by a wide margin. Has ridiculous numbers which it didn't even need to rely on and probably the best tanks, starfighters, capital ships and infantry of all the factions. The AAT is just fantastic, and nothing beats the agile droid fighters supported by organic Separatist aces and the good old fashioned Providence destroyers with Gozantis and other anti-fighter ships, and the B3 battledroid is awesome.
And no lives lost (although that’s a grey area as shown during the Clone Wars)
You’re sounding like a separatist
@@chevyevvy this is why I hate flying 😉
@@lachlanparker570 I guess they can be repaired.
@@tk-6967 I didn’t think of that, but yeah. It’s like healthcare that heals you in a few hours instead of several months. Good thinking
I have no doubt that if Palpatine wasn’t manipulating both sides in the war then the droids would have stomped the clones
They would have they had millions of battle droids ready they were just not activated
As a kid, watching a whole platoon of B1s come out of their transport in TPM was so cool. It's a bit weird that they have tanks crewed by robots instead of robot tanks but apart from that, the theme of a robot army and how it could work was done so well.
Probably to allow the vehicles to be manned by non-droids, like Durge or that one Kim Jong Un guy from the 2008 Clone Wars. Also it's probably easier to make a regular vehicle than to make and program a vehicle-sized droid...
Droidekas will always hold a special place in my heart when I think of the CSI army.
I remember when the visual encyclopedia for episode 1 from 1999 said the battle droids were made to look like dead mummified neimodians before the invention of geonosians
Huh? Neato I didn’t know that
you missed a few droideka variants: droideka oppressors and droideka sentinals were both produced too late for service in the clone war (in the same way as the droideka mark 2 or the hk 77) but were still droideka designs that the cis would have undoubtedly used.
My favourite faction in Star Wars, they're highly underrated but it is clear that they would have won the Cone Wars if the Jedis wasn't a part of the Republic Army.
You missed the scoreanex aka the Droidekas big brother and the few variants of the Droideka but I really liked the fact you covered droids that I’m sure not many people have heard of before so thanks for the cool video and all the work that went into it hope to see more.
From a lore perspective, alot of these droids that only showed up on one or two missions in total were probably prototypes being given a real world trial. They often failed their missions and therefore never ended up being mass produced. No doubt the Techno Union probably produced a ton more prototypes that never even made it to the real world trial phase. I'd like to think somewhere in the Star Wars universe, there's a Techno Union factory/warehouse where all of these are stored, in case future developments of droids ever require those concepts to be revisited.
You can tell Matt Wood had a lot of fun voicing the B1 droids.
Watching all the shows the Jedi never really struggled with battle droids, they make quick work of them. they really start to become scary when clones are facing them. The only few droids that I notice Jedi struggle with are magnaguards and commandos. Destroyer droids can be overwhelmed or outsmarted quite easily.
You also missed the Scorpenek Annihilator Droid, basically a mega Droideka that was able to take down 100 or so clones in a single second. The factory that made them got destroyed by clones tho.
3:28 The Cortosis Battle Droid, while technically being based on the B2 chassis, *isn't classified as a B2 model.* Its correct model number is C-B3, being one of the two droids pitted against eachother to see which would be the successor to the B2, the other competitor being the B3 Ultra Battle Droid you mentioned immediately after the C-B3.
You forgot the Scorpenek droid that was seen in the Book of Boba Fett, it was made by the Colocoid during the Clone Wars for the Seperatists
I also always loved the separatist droid army and it's many cool variants.
Honestly, the droid army seems like a much better idea. The clones are a literal slave army who have to fight to the death while always being heavily outnumbered. The droids are not sentient beings so there are no casualties. They don`t feel hunger or tiredness or cold or need air etc. They should also theoretically be better shots. Their brain is basically a computer that can just auto aim and fire. You can`t really beat them in hand to hand combat either. It would be like a human having a wrestling contest with a terminator. The only thing clones have on their side is imagination and the ability to think on your feet (not exactly military valued qualities) and we don`t really see them using that. Instead they go out in Napoleon era like battles to shoot each other.
Sidious needed a slave army to ultimately kill the Jedis at once. They could not trust, or bond with droids as they did with the clones.
Droidekas are still the most awesome ones, and the B1 could have been effective if they had more CPU power to work with
Yes, do one on the rebellion if they have different ranks/ variants of soldiers.
this vid came up while i was searching for battlefront vids im so glad it did this could be my new fav star wars channel on here have subbed and pressed the bell hello from Scotland
A fine addition to my collection (saves video in droids Playlist)
I like how you use both cannon and legends, it makes your video's even better
honestly the b1 had the potential to be amazing multi-purpose droids for the cis. just some modifications and different programming to fit the role they are assigned to and they will be amazing droids to have.
That’s what bothered me in TCW. The B1s should’ve been treated like an actual threat from the beginning.
Amazing video! Keep up the great work! EZ sub
Little fun fact HK47 was well over 3,600 years old before episode one
More like 3982 years old.
@@matthewchristian9591 I couldn't remember his exact age I just knew it was over 3600
@tylerdunning7363 its cool just happy hk is still kicking during the galactic civil war he even fought veder on mustafar
What about doing the Grand Army of Republic vehicles next?
I just really love the ingenuity of the battle droids, my personal favorite will always be the b1
Very cool designs!
A few Droid Gunships toting commando droids and some Droidekas would have been amazing to see on screen.
All of the variants from every group interest me.
I love the droids, the CIS is my favorite faction. I wish they weren't dumped down in the clone wars and constantly losing battles, which most of the battles they should have won.
I must say I didn’t know about many of these. I suppose they tried so many variants to try and get them an advantage.
The droideka was one of the main things that got me into star wars as a kid.
Droidekas will forever be called Destroyers in my heart.
I loved the commando droids because of that one episode in clone wars where they attack the base so the separatists could sneak by without the republic noticing
Im so glad Commando is Ally in new Game, He looks so cool with Trench Coat.
In Episode I, after the defeat of the gungans, captain tarpilas (dk how to spell) and jar jar binkers were led to a group of others to be executed. In the shoot we can also see some other droid fixing parts or smth. If I missed this out please tell me the time stamp and if not, idk give me a fact.
You should do another video on every droid ship and tank
Great video.
The magnagaurds were one of my favorite droids
I love the droid army the best and the coolest powerful droid army the Galaxy as ever seen Capital ship CIS starfighters tanks and turrests Don't curisers underestimate droid army in star wars universe
WOAH WOAH YOU CANT JUST SAY "CLANKER" WITH THE HARD R LIKE THAT MAN
I thought magna guards where designed by General Grievous after his kaleash body guards from before the clone wars.
2:22 Yo that E4 Baron Droid looks so familiar! Is it from the Phantom Menace video game?
Don't we have also this for rebel faction ? I mean it could be cool if they had some elite trooper too
I think my favorite is the sharpshooter droideka or whatever it's called
great video. its quick and snappy but informative enough on each droid so we can gain good knowledge on them
*WATCH THOSE WRIST ROCKETS* and also here's a classic *Just like the simulations*
Nice video about movie, very good.😊😮
do the droid vehicle army next!
we need a how it's made series that shows how each battle droid is created
In Star Wars episode 3 for DS there is a lot of B2 types but I don’t know if they are canon
I like the rolling droids that have force fields.
Can you do every First Order troopers?
Never expected to see the grenadier droid on here
I like the retail droids they look kinda funny and are probably good at ambushing
I always wondered why the CIS ships had atmosphere it seems unnecessary and if it was needed just use nitrogen.
I've always had a soft spot for the sniper varent of the droid distoryer
You should cover the Gungan army in a video
Easily one of the most fun armies in the setting. It is such a shame they're best remembered for Jar Jar.
From memory, you missed one. So, the flying B1 you showed? Back in Legends it had a MUCH different version which was shown first in a PSP game, before being adapted as canon to the old continuity, the B1-A Air Battle Droid. Thicker than the usual B1, with an integrated jetpack that has four folded wings that extend during flight for better manoeuvrability in atmosphere. They have two wrist-mounted blasters (one on each arm) alongside doubled-edged blades, one on each arm as well. They were meant to harass Jedi from the air to then swoop down for the kill with their own blades. Their main weakness was that while thicker than a B1, they were still vulnerable as fuck, their speed being the only thing keeping them alive, and that their blades weren't anything special. For whatever idiotic reason, the CIS didn't think of using vibroblades on them. Back then, they were popular enough that they even showed up on the tabletop RPG that Wizards of the Coast made with Lucas Arts. For comparison, B1s are a Challenge Level 1 enemy, B2s are a Challenge Level 2 enemy, B1-A are a Challenge 4 due to how much they move and how devastating their charges can be if they catch you with your pants down. Honestly, it sucks that Disney changed them for those bitch ass winged models. The old designs were WAY cooler, straight out of Transformers with the folded wings.
When will you make a part 2 with the rest of the cis equipment like vehicles and larger droids
Why didn’t the rebels just build droid armies too😂😂
Hmmm I would say the rebels didn't had the proper funds to build a droid army. The seperatists had big corporations backing them up.
My fav are the infiltrator demolition droids because imagine your roomba suddenly Turns into a damn terminator and does a fusion dance with another roomba to make a bomb
Do a video of every star war rebel tank
You forgot my favorite the mouse droid
in clone wars i always thougt the red light from the super battle droids was an eye, i noticed like 1 year later the head💀
Do Kotor Sith faction next
Can you make more videos about the droids 🙏
Can u cover the clone and storm troops
9:05 OMG CAMERAMAN😱💀
watch out for those wrist rockets
I'll always love the hail fire droids 🤙
Good points overall - but how do they stand upon against the clones' plot armor?
Just imagine - FPV-drones was appointed main surface units instead of B1 droids.
SBD in republic commando are the most bad ass walking fortresses I've ever seen 😂
True just played through that recently. This guy forgot to add the scavenger droids from that game too.
What about the new battle droid prototype seen in the battlefront 2 (2005) mustafar campaign mission?
Clankers incoming!
I would like 👍 👌 to see The CIS Battle Droids vs. The Necromorphs from Dead Soace 3 who would win 🤔 🥈.
Next (Rebels) !
B1's may be cannon fodder but if you take away their blaster rifle they're actually extremely cute
The B2 Super Battle Droids had wrist mounted twin barreled blasters not rockets.
I think it's quite possible that the B1 were designed as a dissuasion or an occupation force (though still capable of fighting), when the separatists still thought that the Republic had no army to speak of. All subsequent models were vastly more efficient in combat, and also lacked similar personality quirks (which would have been useful for a temporary occupation force, as it would interact with people better). The high numbers, high mobility and versatility of the B1 made it a very good army to cover a lot of space fast without looking too "threatening", it was the perfect droid to occupy a few Republic worlds until they'd settle for advantageous negotiations. Meanwhile, the clones were designed to fight actual wars. The Separatists probably had to refit a good chunk of their military industry to produce B2 and other droids en masse instead.
A Droid army is like a necromancer's, casualties can be irrelevant when the battle is won at the end.
... until you find out what is "chain of supply" and how much resources you have to produce/maintain/ship droids
There's really only one thing you need to know about the battle droids: _WATCH THOSE WRIST ROCKETS._
The tactical droid ❤
Mine has to be the destroyer droid. Its so lethal. Even against Jedi
Man he forgot to mention the monster of a droid…. The Scorpenek annihilator droid.
Wasn't one of their artillery cannons manned in Clone Wars? I remember Obi-wan and those Clone Troopers using it to save the village of Twi'leks.
Correct. Same ones used in the lego clone wars game
@@YOURteacher_100this guy forgot to mention the variants of scavenger droids too.
They all look like a bunch of clankers to me, isn't that right clone brethren
Let me ruin the cw for everyone... Remember in ep6 when some rebel crashed trough the bridge of a capital imperial ship? Why the f dint the separatists do the same against venators with their droid ships... they wouldn't have lost anything of value while the republic lost a whole capital ship with the whole crew and its cargo
They wouldn't even need a whole spaceship for that, today's Tomahawk missiles are basically kamikaze robots already
The real good guys
The separatists still would have won if they mass produced the BX series
Assuming there was 1 quintillion of battle droids, then the clone were outnumbered not 10 to 1, but almost three billions to one.
The B1 droids are always so funny
