Space Science Episode 5: On a Mission from Earth - Satellites (and How They Change Our Lives)
In 2015, Nepal is hit by the strongest earthquake in the country's history. Images from radar satellites capture geological mapping and impact of the quake - almost to the centimeter. In 1946, cameras delivered the first shots from space. Today, the continuous monitoring of Earth is already within reach. Modern telephony, television and the internet are not possible without the technology in Earth’s orbit. Big data threat or telecommunications 2.0? Prof. Dr. Ulrich Walter explains in Space Science.

    • Satellites: They never get hit with space debris. They never collide with other satellites. They never break down or need servicing. They don't melt in the thermosphere? And still today in 2023 there isn't a single REAL photo of one in space. Underwater cables provide 90% of earths internet connections? The remaining 10% is via sateloons. Not satellites, sateloons. So what exactly do these so called satellites they say are floating around the earth do. Over 6 and a half thousand of them? Remember a time they solved a crime using satellites? No, me either ! If satellites existed why do we today need an airplane to take pictures of our planet? Google's drones currently do this. When people listen and just instantly 100% believe what others tell them without ever checking deeper into the subjects/ information of everything they are told for themselves. This then often results in them becoming regurgitaters of misinformation. Unfortunately people then go on to teach our younger generations the same misinformation they' believe themselves to be true. Take a closer look at the world we all live in. The world is not what we are told and if people actually bothered to spend time learning about this world, our 'true' past and the universe, they would already know that mainstream documentaries, funded by governments and private corporations are purposely put together to sell the 'narrative' they've been telling the public for decades. Unfortunately too many people swallow the lies, dont see the truth because they are lazy in all honesty & can't be bothered to look for truths in life themselves. They rather just sit back in life & be 'told' what's what by anyone. And the people who suffer the most are our younger generations. Our kids. Brainwashed by the uneducated. They grow up believing the same bs they were told at school and at home.

  • then there is A-GPS, where it uses Wifi and phone towers to tell you the position of the phone, for example if you can see 3 or more towers at different angles and it is able to find the signal strength it will coordinate by that as well, the same with Wifi, every wifi broadcaster has a unique number regardless if it's displaying the name or not, when your phone downloads this information from Google or other 3rd parties it is able to use GPS, Glonass, BEIDOU, Galileo to find out where you are. The rest is math done with your phone, which is why your phone battery is horrible with GPS active, because it's doing constant calculations.

A science fiction writer. About this too... If satellites existed GPS signal wouldn't be lost due to terrain, buildings etc. as it would go straight down to a receiver, right? But, because they don't exist, we have what we have.

    • they do take pictures of the sun, we're even pointing telescopes at the sun and using filters to tone down the brightness, the only difficulty is that when you get closer to the sun it has thousands of degrees with little way to disperse the heat, try taking a picture inside your oven while it's running and it will be a similar problem.

    • Peter, I didn't say anything about weather images. I mentioned the fact that there are no such things as "satellites in space", as they describe. So, no, I have never seen "satellite weather images", as they describe and define. Neither have you. Again, over 49 minutes worth of video, and not a single real image of a real satellite in space.

      @P2DMFNG@P2DMFNG4 жыл бұрын
  • Ok let’s just say satellites is real, cool. Let’s say it is a thousand of them out there with their 1:21 (camera technology) snapping hella shots of earth, cool. Now, how come in the “pic” of a satellite I only see one? None in the background? How come a satellite has never just floated in the way of another satellite and photo bombed it? No satellite collisions? There is no air in space right, nothingness? So how the satellite be perfectly positioned AT ALL TIMES if it has no air for it can be controlled? The reason things fly is because air is thick enough to where it can push off of it. like a rocket a propeller or like a birds wings etc. If you’re standing on the ground, and you jump you are pushing yourself off the ground. But if you’re already off the ground, what are you pushing yourself off of??

  • BULLSHIT..No satellites. At least in "space" ... I'm a USAF veteran with over 1000 hrs of training in electronics and communications with 4 years as an Avionic Communications Specialist...I worked on the largest cargo and passenger aircraft in the world. Both as an enlisted man and civilian at SFO and OAK Airports on 747,767,A300 airbus, DC 9, DC 10 etc... I was responsible for ALL communications systems including installing, modifying, troubleshooting and removal of UHF,VHF, FM, HF and CDPIR- Crash data position Indicator and recorders ( the black box) NOT ONE SINGLE SYSTEM INTERFACES WITH ANY SATELLITE EVER....There is NO COMMUNICATIONS LINK between a satellite or aircraft... Satellite TV; ISN'T. All ground antenna point to a larger array. GPS is a ground based system and THAT'S why you see more and more repeater towers going up ALL OVER THE WORLD!

    • I'm surprised more satellites don't fail. having worked in a European Space Agency contractor for over two decades as an inspector many tests were falsified by QA such as Contact Engagement and Separation, Robustness of Terminations, 168-hour burn-in of thin-film resistors was also falsified. (wait a week before progressing? are you joking?) That's just some of the data forged by QA I can't comment on what others were doing but they expressed their disgust too at what they were instructed to do, such as running vibration testing but not putting the components on the test plate, just run plots off for the customer to see. It's all about the bottom line, the fact that the product is life dependant is not important. Try and keep track of my other comments on Space videos. :)

  • It's Not That Difficult to Get them. What You Have to Do? You Have to Make a Radar Jammer, that You, yourself Can Unjam. The Noise, the Jammer Makes, has to be Psudo-Random (Known Random Noise ). The Satellites are in the Cloud. 10,000 Feet or 3 KM. Search for the Satellites from 100,000 Feet or 30 KM. Use Radar Jamming, So the Enemy Can't Shoot You Down. Your Own Radar, Searching for the Satellites, Knows How to Remove the Jammers Noise. When a Satellite is Found, you have to Come down to 10,000 Feet or 3 KM. This is in Infrared, Stinger Missile Range. So you Have to Jam Infrared. Not Merely Decoys. The Stinger Missile Can See the Shape of Aeroplanes. So can distinguish between Flares and Aeroplanes. So you have to Use a VERY HIGH POWERED infrared Jammer. One that SATURATES the Infrared Detector. Not merely Noise or Decoy Flares.
