@@Idk-mh9pl I played the game the first time today and i finished it in 6 hours on normal, i was thinking the game is way harder. I beat the robot in my 3 try and was like wtf. Yes Sally was harder but not that hard. I was having the most trouble with the bee, the plant and the devil ;)

Sally stageplay is basically Root Pack compared to Kahl's robot.
He put Sally on the list because without the smoke bomb she is harder than The Devil (No I am serious The Devil isn't too hard for a final boss I find Sally without the smoke bomb harder)

Well this is just what happened to me and is my personal opinion
Bepi made me go insane during quarantine.
The thing I love most about this game is that there really is no change in difficulty as the game continues
There is an insane change in difficulty at the start, going from that insane tutorial over to the 2 easiest bosses in the game, root pack and goopy.
It literally takes me about 2 hours to kill every boss in this game. Amazing that in the modern age some people are still really good at these kinds of games with retro playstyles.

I recently played the game for a second time but for my first go around Sally Stageplay was one of the easiest bosses I beat. It only took a few tries before beating her. However, even on the second try, Dr. Khal’s Robot and Grim Matchstick still took me several upon SEVERAL times to beat. The devil wasn’t too bad, still took me a few tries but not as much as Grim Matchstick or Dr. Khal’s Robot. Run and Gun levels...hate them with a passion. Especially the second one on Isle 2 when you have to go upside down
Grim matchstick took me an hour but can not compare to phantom express, honeybottoms, king dice or dr. Khals robot. Most difficult boss is king dice. Dr. Khals robot + Werner werman = king dice (not saying Werner is difficult tho)
Ok but funhouse frazzle is easier than Funfair level that you must beat a hotdog mini boss. I'm rushing it by using smokebomb

For Grim Matchstick, you can use roundabout and move forward continuously.
5:00 I have an hypothesis. Cuphead must have in some bosses (such as also in Sally stageplay at the first phase when she disappears and reappears) a program of prediction of movements with artificial intelligence. If you make a pattern in specific stages, like the flames, the game will learn where you are going ti move and will predict it. So my advice is to be unpredictable, this means for example, when you are shooting and the flame is raising the first movement you should do is to jump at your place, then the next time jump backwards, then to crouch, then to go down and then jump forward. This was just an example of how you mustn’t repeat patterns
King Dice was my hardest challenge so far, Then second is a tie between dr khal and Grim Matchstick

For the devil, I’d use p sugar (automatic parry) because most of his attacks have parry’s in them and in his last phase, you can auto parry on the tears Took me 5 hours to realize that

Were you using Charge and Lobber? Because I found that Lobber makes the second stage a lot shorter and Charge's low fire rate makes it easier to avoid hitting a fireball by accident in the third stage.
I killed geenie in first try dragon ded in 4or 5 try and the other bosses end like 10-16 try (Of course not the devil)
Actually he is pretty easy use the green weapon then just go on the highest cloud and jump on place when his little fire dudes prepare to and at the last part use the lobber

When my dad and I played Cuphead, we took turns because the system we have it on only has one controller. We got to Isle Three, and my dad, knowing he was my favorite boss, let me battle Werner Werman first. I beat it first try. My dad is still kinda mad at me because of that.

Don’t Judge me but I’m stuck on the 1st Run’n’gun on the third island
I hate both run n guns on Isle 3, I don’t blame you
for the one near Cala Maria equip the chase shot and for 2nd shot use the blobber. As for charm, use the dash charm! to avoid the lobster, kill him immedatly so you can cover more ground. when you reach the octopus use the chaser shot and check to see if it's safe to parry the gem on him. If you dont parry the gem, he'll abandon you and you'll die so you always gotta watch your surrondings! hope this helps! Edit: a tip for this level is no matter how much you want to, don’t rush through it. Take your time and be aware of how fast your going or how fast or slow the attacks of the enemies are going!

@@jakebrady7426 I generally find that, in the case of Dr. Kahl's Robot, the first stage (particularly after you broke the chest or head pieces) is the hardest. Remember that you have bombs: the blast radius on your bombs is enough to hit the chest and stomach at the same time, which should speed up the first phase drastically.

@@jakebrady7426 Yeah, those become a problem quickly. I recommend switching to bomb and shooting them from above or taking them out from a safe distance with your gun. Make sure you deal damage to the robot when you can, but don't let too many missiles appear on the screen at once without you taking some down. The reason I recommend bomb is because a) they take out missiles instantly and b) to take out missiles with your gun, you need to be in the lower left corner generally, which is a bad place to be when you've broken the chest.
It's funny to me seeing how different people feel about the different bosses in this game. For example, I never really had much trouble with Cala Maria or Djimmi the Great, but I've heard other people talk about how hard they are, but other bosses like Wally Warbles and Baroness von Bon Bon still give me trouble even after playing through the game several times. I think the fact that there aren't widely agreed upon hard bosses and easy bosses (except for maybe The Root Pack) shows how well crafted the game is, that the difficulty of a boss really depends on the player's individual skills rather than some artificial difficulty set by the developers. Also, you have a really good voice for these kinds of videos, reminds me some of Stryder7x.
Andy Smith I honestly found Djimmi the Great really difficult and died a whole bunch of times to him, but then I went to sleep and the next morning I beat him first try ._.

I actually died to The Root Pack around 25 or 30 times when I first started the game. I never really play games in this genre, and that was the first level I tried, so I was still getting used to how everything worked. I would say that 13 attempts is not bad at all on the first boss! :D
+Top Deh RareFoX! I've had that happen to me before on other games such as Legend Of Zelda Wind Waker, I think it's because of rage and stress that we lose after sleeping and doing other things.
Personally, Grim was pretty easy... I tried out chaser for the first time and it really helped. Yes, I know that it weakens your damage, but it allows me to only have to focus on avoiding things and not shooting things.

Man, so interesting seeing other people's hardest bosses. For me, Sally and the phantom express were easy af, and after seeing people say how hard Grim Matchstick is, found him pretty doable. I thought the devil was hard, until i switched to the roundabout and then beat him in about 10 tries. That weapon is key. My top 5 hardest would definitely be" 5. Beppi the Clown 4. Baroness Von Bon Bon 3. King Dice 2. Cala Maria 1. Dr Kahl's Robot

My top ten #10 Hilda Berg, the first airplane fight that added a different prospective to the game. #9 Wally Warbles, it was not one “egg”selent game, with the baby bird being the main thing in my way #8 Djimi the great, I had a lot of trouble dodging the pyramids at the end #7 Cala Maria, I find this boss not as hard because of the fact that I too love bullet hell games #6 the devil, even though he is the final boss, I found his attacks easy to follow which this fight took not even 30mins #5 Phantom Express , it added a whole new level of parrying, since those stupid pumpkins kept dropping parry bats on the cart #4 King Dice, he was a hard challenge for me because of a tactic I tried using, which helped me win, was at the end, I went behind the arms while he placed cards and then hit him with a charged shot. #3 Rumor Honeybottoms, continuously having to be jumping into platforms and having triangles and fists coming at you has one of the hardest challenges on the ground in this game for me. #2 Grim Matchstick, even though the first stage is not that hard, the walking fireballs were annoying at the fact that they would predict the jump while having to hit grim, then the last stage with firing at him while backwards, while avoiding a flamethrower and his splitting fireballs. #1 Dr Khals Robotnics, having to go against him was the hardest challenge ever for me, having to deal with the laser and the flying tint ships and parry barriers, then fighting the heart which has his arms shooting or magnetism against you, then trying to fight the head while bombs are being thrown at you, then the crystals, that sucked, PERIOD!! I hoped people who read this enjoyed my top 10😁😁

I'm currently on my first playthrough. Defeated 3 bosses so far. Hilda Berg has been giving me trouble. Probably the first wake up call boss fight for me so far.
I EASILY Found Dr. Khal's Robot to be the hardest Boss. It was the only boss That I had to look up a guide for, and the Final Phase was straight up bullshit and REALLY long. The first phase was irritating, the second phase was the same, and the Final phase, as said before, was straight bullshit.
VGamer1308 yup, agreed. The first phase was so full of different shit you had to dodge, and then the final phase lasted forever and you could barely ever even look at the boss because you had so much stuff to dodge. So glad I'm done with it LOL.

i was so angry because after MANY MANY tries, i managed to win with 2 HP, and the only hp i lost was because a shadow of the background covered the screen and didnt let me see the bullets coming from the diamond... that was utter bullshit... that make me win with an A when it could be a A+ in the hardest boss e.e
VGamer1308 I agree, while the other bosses I didn't have too much trouble with, that boss, that FUCKING boss was the closest one to making me rage quit the game. Sadly, my win didn't feel like much of a win, because I beat it on a round where I only had one life on the first phase and decided to use it to built a strategy. Still, I beat it, and I'll most likely never go back to it.
Yeah, I'm stuck at him. It starts tough as nails and the last part's long as fuck (and if you've lost one hit point - which is surprisingly easy here - you're pretty much done)

*Tips For The Boss Fights Listed Below* Djimmi: is quite a fast fight with the correct use of both types of bullets and mini mode. Combine that with smoke bomb and you got yourself a fight easier than Cagney Carnation. Wally Warbles: Stick to the back wall when he fires those eggs so you only have to dodge the big ones. -1 point for the damage. The Feather Sword Phase has nothing to worry about. Stick in pattern with Wally and you'll be into the next phase in no time. Captain Briny Beard: 3 of the 4 pellets his fish shoots are parry-able, Shoot the Squid, Shoot the dogs, don't pay attention to the shark. The barrel only becomes hostile once he turns on the left or right side. Use that to your advantage. Spread and Rebound is the way to go. Tongue = Super Art 1 + Spread = Victory Against Tongue. Grim Matchstick: Use lobber for entire fight. Duke the Tail and Fireball people out. Flamethrower = easy to dodge. Shoot lobber in bursts of 3 after dodging orange bubble. Baroness Von BonBon: Candy-Corn = moves in figure 8. memorise his patterns for greater attack effect. Gumball Machine: Onion with extra steps, spreadshot him. Waffle: Stay further back, rebound is effective. *Good Luck, Adventurer!*
You’re not talking about smoke dash on Djimmi, right? I’m assuming you’re referring to the bombs that come from the plane considering it’s impossible to use smoke dash on a plane level lol
@@allisonthejoker4777 No, if you have smoke dash equipped on your character upon entering a plane level, when you convert to ''mini mode'', there'll be about half a second where there's just smoke and invincibility frames. I used it to my advantage on Djimmi just a few days ago, the Eyes on the pyramids can just be phased through with correct timing of the Smoke Dash.

I agree with you in the djimmi the great, I always struggle on the pillar bc THE GAP IS SO TIGHT AND I ALWAYS GET HIT BY THE PILLAR THATS ON TOP OF THE GAP, the tear in the devils last phase is parryable which means you can parry it, the devils tears dont deal damage to you (I think, I am stuck at inkwell isle 2 bc of djimmi the great)
Mine: 10- Beppi the clown The running me over to baseball penguins. Here is the hard stuff about this boss: the ducks on the first phase, the dam dogs, horseshoes and baseball penguins. But not as hard as the other people on this list to me 9- devil First phase is probably the hardest he shape shifts himself into 3 animals: dragon, goat, and spider. After that it’s still hard 8- phantom express The ghost and skeleton are easy but after that is hell. The lollipop dudes lighting breath that go’s 3/4 of the screen. With the train itself the heart is soo hard to hit 7- hilda berg The first air fight on this list. those laughs just go at random times and THOSE DAM MINI ZEPPELINS. Taurus is big which makes it a bigger target but when he lunges at you is so unexpected. Gemini is ok but the fact the energy ball doesn’t disappear after deafening the hella annoying. Sagittarius. Dodging the arrows is easy but the stars that chase you are just so annoying. The moon, all I have to say is I HATE THISE UFOS 6- Cagney carnation A lot of you will disagree on me with this. He is my favorite boss but that don’t mean he ain’t hard. He gives you a fair amount of time before he launches his face at you but I still get hit by at more than I like to admit. THAT LITTLE STUPID SEED ATTACK as much as annoying as dodging them when they are above you, those pink ones. The thing they plant is SUPER ANNOYING it damages you when you jump above it, you might think “ oH jUsT pArRy It” it’s so dang hard to parry. The boomerang goes so fast on expert and just like the face attack, I also get hit by the seeds more than I like to admit. His final phase is kinda just a break 5- Cala Maria Those fracking pufferfish. there is always SO MYCH STUFF ON SCREEN it just gets so hard to dodge. The second phase for me is the hardest the eels that shoot those dang rocks. I play on pc so mashing when she turns you to stone is HELL. Then the final phase comes like I said before. Mashing is HELL 4- djimmy the great On the first phase there is just so much stuff flying around on screen it’s super hard to dodge and that dumb little genie is trying to hold in his laughter at you pain. For the second phase it just took a while to get used to it. Third phase there is so much going on, the eye planets, the ghosts, and djimmy trying to lunge his face at you, he doesn’t have that much health tho. The fourth phase is just- i don’t like it, the fireballs are giant and fast. Them the final phase is just HELL those mind beams are hard to see. The pyramids go off at random moments and he is such a big target and you can’t fly too much to the right or your fragile cup will go poof 3- dr khaks robot Do I have to explain myself? 2- mr chimes Yes I’m counting mini bosses. Im the worst at memorizing things so this was a absolute hell. Those music notes get me every time because I’m focusing on the memory game and not the projectiles 1-tutorial THAT DAM JUMP

If you play on expert, the difficult bosses may vary drastically compared to regulars, For example Grim Matchstick turned out to be one of the easy ones, while some flying levels and such are really, really painful. At least with keyboard it is quite hard to control the plane precisely. The difficulty does not scale equally with all bosses

King Dice is definitely the hardest boss in the game. I didn't find the Genie very hard, and Sally Stageplay is one of the easiest fights in game.
I found doctor kahls robot to be the hardest. King dice for me wasn't as hard as I thought. But I guess the monkey boss did end up messing me up a few times in his run. Djini for me was also pretty easy and I agree with sally

i found out that u actually dont need to move the trolly around during the skull stage in the phantom express. just move it all the way to the right or to the left and there's a sweet spot to dodge for wherever it slaps
you can also just stay on the edge of the platform and you'll avoid the hands easily

Strangely enough, Beppi the Clown was the ONLY boss I was able to beat on the first try. The two bosses that stood out to me for being the hardest was Djimmi and the Dr's Robot.

Dr. Khal’s Robot is by far the worst boss. The 6 different attack patterns in his first phase drove me to literally dislike the boss and the level. I enjoyed every other battle including the Devil and King Dice, those were hard but required practice. Dr. Ass Blaster required ridiculous dodging and luck.

Im only on inkwell isle 2 at the moment, and im scared to attempt grim matchstick (dragon), wally warbles (bird) and jimmy the great (genie) because of just how much ive heard about how bad they are. But this is my top 6 (cause 10 would be a stretch to do idk if there have been 10 yet) 6 goop de grace (idk how to spell that one, but inkwell isle one blueberry slimeball thing) This is one of the easier fights imo, but for me it was hard to get in the hang of crouching on time, and it also took me a but realize i could crouch in general xD under his attacks and i forgot it was a mechanic lol. Also 2nd stage was hard for me cause of how big the ball was. Other then that its a good beginner fight. 5 the flower boss The flower boss took me a little while, i couldnt get the hang of dodging the seeds the carrots or the spinning blue seed, it felt impossible, i got better at it tho and finally made it to his last stage, which was easy for me (for the most part) 4 vacarious von bon bon This fight looked easier then it was for me, and it felt like it was so easy but i couldnt get through it for the life of me. The waffle and the candy corn were difficult and i never figured out those 2, i got through that on luck, not to mention your not even done then, the rolling candy mints onthe bottom comfined with 2 heads flying at you? Yeah it was impossible, i got through from 3 hp and a super to 1 hp, i couldnt have done it if i didnt have 3 hp and a super, and that was a struggle to get on its own. 3 2 and 1 are debatable for me, its hard to choose which one truely belongs where, BUT 3 the blimp girl in the sky, i cant remember the name. This fight was trial and error, and the moon stage at the end was the worst lmao, i remember raging cause i got right to the end and i died, and also those baby blimps were so dumb they didnt need to be there. Not to mention those tornados. There seems to be so much on the screen at one time and again not to mention the new game mechanic theyre introducing with the plane. 2 ribbity croaks Good god that names giving me war flashbacks. First stage is simple and second stage once you get the hang of it is relatively easy. But when i tell you i spent probably 6 hours trying to defeat that 3rd stage, i mean i started playing at 11 pm and stayed up till 3 am. I raged so hard that i didnt even hit anything, ribbity croaks made me tear up in rage. But when i finally beat it i was so happy i was so proud and i felt accomplished. The dumb tigers is what got me, and i couldnt dodge the coins that was hard, but then again it got a little simpler as i kept attempting the dodges, the tigers seemed impossible because of the balls, i felt it was hard to time and it took so long to get the hang of. The bulls were harder then they needed to be tho i dont know why they were so hard for me to do. But i finally got through that stage and that was the best feeling ever. I still hate those frogs tho. They can die in a fire. 1 beppi the clown The DOG BALLOONS ON THE SECOND STAGE OH MY GODDDD i could rant for hours on how completely stupid this boss fight was. This one made me cry twice, and killed me multiple times when i was TOUCHING the flag at the end. The car at the beginning takes a little practice, but its relatively easy. The second stage is where it becomes hard. The dog balloons combined with the train in the second stage made it harder then ever, and i never quite got the hang of the balloons. Not to mention the next stage. The yellow horses were fine. But those green horses oh my god were the horseshoes hard to dodge. I could never get the perfectly correct spot. That wouldve been easy enough if the train wasnt an issue, the train combined with that made it near impossible. Then if your lucky enough to see the last stage, you would wanna save up a super and keep all 3 hp, and considering the last 2 stages its super hard. Jumping from little platform to little platform is easy enough, but when he spits out the penguins its game over, i never learnt exactly how to dodge them, but i finally made it through and was really proud of myself. Id like to say beppi and ribbity croaks were very hard to choose between. They both deserve 1st but beppi was worst by a small margin. Honorable mentions: Root pack Root pack was so easy i got it first try, love that one. I wanna go back and try and get a higher score, cause i never worry about parrys. I really should tho and that would be good practice EVERY RUN AND GUN Omg i hate them so much im not good at run and guns at all, and i dont want to do them, but i need the coins so its worth it. I wish you could just find coins along the map instead of doing the run and guns. But honestly despite being hard they are pretty fun ngl, just dont kill me on the last jump p l e a s e!

Here is my top 10 hardest Cuphead bosses. 10. Wally Warbles - This fight is not the hardest, but it is definitely not the easiest. The first 2 phases are not too bad, but the third phase, it is pure hell for me. I just couldn't beat it. Even months after beating the boss for the first time, I still have trouble getting past that phase. 9. Beppi the Clown - This boss is the second hardest boss in Inkwell Isle 2. It makes you think it's easy with that first phase, but the second phase is hell. You never know where the balloon animals are gonna spawn. 8. Sally Stageplay - Not an easy boss for me. Like Beppi the Clown, it makes you think it's easy with the first phase. And then, the second phase. It adds on psychotic babies who throw their glass milk bottles at you, and also wind-up toys. 7. Hocus Pocus - Yes, this is a mini boss. But, it deserves a mention. It is so hard to dodge those skull things, especially when the opening is southeast or southwest. 6. Baroness Van Bon Bon - Those fucking mini bosses, man. The waffle is super challenging, along with the muffin. And not to mention those stupid jelly beans that occasionally come out the castle. 5. Hilda Berg - Yes, I have an Inkwell Isle 1 boss in the top 10 hardest Cuphead bosses. It's so challenging to beat it in Expert mode. I've practiced for hours and can barely get past Saggitarius. 4. The Devil - The first phase is just pure hell. Literally and difficulty-wise. But, the second phase. It is so difficult. It took me days to beat it. And I am never trying to beat it again. 3. Grim Matchstick - Holy hell. When I first bought Cuphead, I didn't think there were going to be bosses THIS difficult. Boy, was I wrong. I spent days trying to beat this boss. Weeks. I've tried, but I haven't beat it again. 2. Dr. Kahls Robot - I can't even describe in words the amount of relief I felt when I beat this boss. It was my greatest achievement yet. There are so many things to dodge. 1. Cala Maria - I can't anymore. I just can't. Trying to explain the difficulty of this boss is just impossible. Honorable Mentions: The Phantom Express - Not really a difficult boss, but it is definitely not easy. The turtorial - Took me hours to beat this. Nonstop. Rumor Honeybottoms - I was going to include it in the list, but I just couldn't find the right place. It would've been #5 if Hilda Berg didn't exist. King Dice - The mini bosses are what make this fight hard.

King dice took the longest for me.. just the end itself with the cards. Finally found out you can hide behind the hand that lets the cards go. Devil was the hardest, even when you know the pattern and the moves to avoid hits.. have to execute it perfectly
For me Hilda Berg took longest she took 4 days but that’s because I was a beginner (and was playing on simple mode). The hardest boss I’ve beaten is king Dice (3 days it took me) but now I’m on the devil. Favorite boss would probably be grim matchstick

If you look at the flame guys before they jump, they have an easy tell where they face towards wherever they're gonna jump. Knowing that I can do that stage flawlessly every time.

When they are about to attack just jump and don't go to any direction just press the jump button that you dodge them easily

Hardest boss for me is the robot and genie. The robots 3rd phase is hard for the reason you stated, that being awkward angles that are almost undodgeable, and the genie has so many phases, so much rng in the 1st phase, second phase has the saws patrolling the broken totems when they want to do that, 3rd phase has some weird projectile patterns, 4th phase is so crowded because of the hat, and 5th phase is super annoying with the pyramids doing the lasers whenever they want, and they just shield the genie himself whenever they feel like it.

Yeah after fighting the robot, the pirate, the mermaid, and the bee Sally Stageplay seemed really out of place in that act to me. She has so few attacks and there is so little going on; it is a breeze by the time you make it to her.
