I have friend who joined -HAL- GTRE-Kaveri engine project a while back and he was disgusted with the work that was being done. People are working for 20+ years in a project without anything to show. They do not have urgency or fire to showcase their work, maybe it is the govt office attitude or they have given up. Only way any development will happen in India is when private companies are incentivised for R&D and only niche work is done by DRDO.
I have also heard the same from a guy who works for DRDo.... Sab SBI type kaam chalta hai... Inn saalo ke jobs security hatao... First thing.. And pension tab milegi jab kuch achieve hoga..
gtre kaveri is a failed mission.....aur karo competitive drdo exam se bharti(talent is lost)
@@apoorvchauhan6258 🤣🤣🤣
@@apoorvchauhan6258 Jet propulsion drones are still years (if not decade) ahead. We are still working on data link verification of the turbo fan propulsion MALE drones. We still do not have armed drones. Work is being done slower than some govt offices. Also, repurposing engine developed for fighter plane for drones because it was a FAILED project is not a good way of development. We Indians will proudly call it JUGAAD, but in actual it is laughable. Even peons in private office get more work done in a day than "scientists" of DRDO in years.
@@apoorvchauhan6258 I guess I will have to challenge all your points one by one: 1) TD for Ghatak UCAV have already taken its first flight -- GHATAK scaled down model flight has taken place an year ago. It will take 2+ years to create 1:1 and production will take 5 years. This is as per the conservative estimation of DRDO itself. 2) India recently demonstrated over the horizon capability for MALE drone (controlled by SATCOM). Ops included switching control from Land Based CS to Naval Vessel. - Yes that is what I mentioned in my comment. Data link verification is the basic feature of drones along with flight capability. MALE drone is delayed project and will take few more years for all features to be tested. Turkey has a viable drone project with less money and time because their scientists are motivated and project management is to the point. 3) We have indigenous Loitering Munition and Swarm Drones (demonstrated back in 2021) - Indigenous Loitering Munition is not a big project. A kid can attach hobby drone with explosives and drop it. Ukraine is doing it with cheap Chinese drones. Swarm drone is a great project and it is working at great pace. Both these projects are done by private companies though NOT DRDO. So get your facts right. 4) Kaveri is not repurposed🤡 rather downscaled with similar dry/wet thrust performance to fit our UCAV requirements. - KAVERI engine is a FAILED project. Even DRDO accepts it. Thrust output is way below the target. It was decided to use Kaveri engine for jet propulsion drones only recently. So it is at conception stage. Remember the scaled down GHATAK drone is not using Kaveri engine. 5)it's not jugaad rather versatility of our Engine. - Boasting about a failed project as if it was the objective is sublimely MORONIC. Accept that it was failed project, learn from mistakes and move on to the next project. Wasting 20+ years on a single project is nothing but idiotic. Only govt org can afford such morons. 6)I guess i hit the nerve by calling your friend Peon whose sole purpose of existence is syphoning kickbacks while DRDO scientists have developed ICBMs, AAMs, LCA, MBT, SAMs and what not. - Yes you did. You degraded the job of peons by mocking it. Your classist, elitist, racist attitude dripped in your comment. It showed me that you are north-Indian typical son who was coddled every day in his life and hardly worked for anything. Everything was given to you by your parents. Regarding my friend, he is working for a reputable company in US making them cutting edge tech with his 2 Masters degree! Morons like you make India develop slower than a snail running track.

Podcasting is going to revolutionize India’s youth. This satisfies an appetite that’s always been starved.
This one episode was an eye opener in many things, in a time where many Indians are blindly celebrating our achievements, this episode highlighted the importance of working on our flaws as a nation and growing together! Jai Hind!!!
We can only work on our flaws if we accept that they exist right? Indians don't like to admit those. "Chalta h yaar...Dekh lenge..." mindset
You actually put it aptly. This always happens when i listen to AIM. I feel like I live in a useless good for nothing country with Zero achievement. Suddenly China France and even Pakistan start looking better. But after 15 mins. I realise this guy is always pessimistic and India HAS made great strides. India is doing well. soon we will be No. 3 Economy. And USA China etc HAVE serious problems to address which are not even fully curable. So relax.

I can see a Brahmos or Pinaka or even a Tejas that we made and are now exporting. I am hearing him for over 3 yrs. I think he has an Agenda behind this criticism. Particularly disappointted by India not giving US enuf Orders as per commitments. He is frustrated by it. Not a good sign. Keeps deriding Russian equipment and Fighters. US for all its might, hasn't won a single war for a long time anywhere. Now they are losing Ukraine as well. Why?? They lost in Syria as well. N mind you NATO is man countries together. Why can't they defeat Russia, Iran and China together? What AIM says and what I see happen doesn't match at all. He never says we should develop our own weapons. Instead, he always talks down our institutions. Let me tell you one fact. You tell me if you were aware of this. NASA is a premier US institute right? The best you might say. Are you aware that for over 15 years, NASA doesn't send its Astraunauts to Space Centre on its Rockets? It sends them on Russian Rockets. Why? @@abhinavnambiar4720 The process of developing defense technology involves ordering defense tech in large quantities and creating iterative versions. This approach is essential for perfecting defense technology. It is not practical to have multiple jets of different classes in small numbers. This would pose significant logistical challenges and be a logistical nightmare in itself.
@@shashankkavur I agree, yes it can pose significant problems. But, you need to understand, when we diversify our source there are inherent advantages to it as well. For example, if we buy from a single source and the suppliers decide to not supply with spares or equipment anymore then we are basically screwed. But when we diversify, we still have other sources. Also yes we are working with Tejas and AMCA but it will take time to join the service. In the meantime, we will have to rely on foreign weapons. Logistical issues can be remedied to a certain extent by indigenizing certain parts or equipment like HAL and DRDO are doing in the case of Su30mki or even T90 tanks.

What's more depressing is that we haven't done anything tangible about ORCA, AMCA, TEDBF. Airforce is in a hurry to retire MiG-21s and reduce the squadron strength even more. Heck they even retired the MiG-27s and MiG-23s when they could've been upgraded and maintained the squadron strength until suitable replacements came. Something is better than nothing. An old plane is still better than having no plane. Purani chaddi ko phekne se pehle, nayi chaddi toh khareed lete....
Future aircrafts will replace existing aircrafts, tejas mk2 will replace mirage, jaguar and mig 29 , and amca will replace su30mki and tedbf will replace naval mig29 and tejas mk1a is for point defence, read well about Indian defence before you follow such stupid analist
Same with the firearms in the Army. You have Western guns which use NATO standard 5.56x45mm and 7.62x51mm and then you have the Russian/Eastern European guns that use 7.62X39mm and 7.62x54mm. Man I genuinely hope that we don't have a war real soon otherwise we're gonna have a logistical nightmare. DId you ever wonder that why Abhijit sir stops his livestreams at 11 or 12 pm? Mr Abhijit Chavda is Batman.
Oh my Lord Mahadev. Two of my favourite people together. I haven't even begin listening. But I had to put it in words first. Awesome. Love and respect to both of you.
Btw follow 8 limbs of yoga ☺🕉
This has to be the best podcast I've heard in a long time!
Europe provides top quality education in 24 languages. India can also provide top quality education in all the Indian languages.
Its amazing to see Big Brother and Small Brother discussing Geopolitics.😄😄👌👍
2:04:24 Abhijit Iyer's impersonation of Americans is the best thing of the podcast😂😂😂😂 Thank me later.
😂😂😂it was amazing
Abhijit Ayer has genuine clarity when it comes to observing and analyzing the nitty-gritty of anything he deals with. It's very rare. 👍👍👍
What I like about them is that, despite being extremely knowledgeable, do they have lapses in memory, forgetting names or dates. This is an amazing trait. Rather say you don't know or your forgot instead of BSing your way to look smart. I hope ppl learn from them as this such a beautiful quality
Abhijit and Abhijit, what a podcast 👏
Hats off to Abhijit Iyer to bring in the economics of war 👏🏼
This is best podcast about India situation, congratulations for abhijit for getting so much out of abhijit , brilliant conversation 🫡
Such a gem of a podcast. Best use of two hours 😊
This is till date the most compelling and insightful discussion on the war.....and Abhijit has brought the best out of the other Abhijit ! one of the very best podcast available.
Agreed!
Probably the best podcast I've ever watched. Thank you Sir for arranging it. Huge respect. Lots of things learnt, and I believe you have a knack for conducting podcasts because learnings were flowing so peacefully. Beautiful event
Abhijit Iyer Mitra sir i have always been a great fan of you. Love you.
Hi, thank you for these podcasts and generally your channel. As someone from the 'Westosphere' as Mr Iyer-Mitra describes, it is difficult to find Indian perspectives / opinions from experts and free thinkers. Realistic discours, even I don''t agree on all points, but that is the reason I search for these different viewpoints. Greetings from Belgium.
Great to see Abhijit and Abhijit. In my mind, I was hoping for this to happen for so long!
Btw, AIM was miserably wrong about his entire Wagner analysis as well.
Where do you see India in 2050 nothing where we are now . those lines broke my heart 🥹🥹🥹
first time i have seen someone speaking truth about defence. Salute! this is true patriotism.
One of the best eye opening & revealing podcast i have watched. The guy's a genius.👏🏻
What an epic podcast !!! The abundance of knowledge shared is mind boggling...!! One of the best podcast ever period !
This podcast is pure knowledge in abundance , half of the things went bouncer , but the information was very hard hitting
India's potential is still untapped.
I don’t understand geopolitics. But I listen to Abhijeet Mitra as his voice has sound of honesty.
This the collab of the year hands down and its scary how both the Abhijit's complement each other like one is bald one has long hair, one is fat while the other is fit, one has beard and one is clean shaven, one is tall the other is short, one is optimistic while the latter is pessimistic and one is an Aryan invader/migrant/tourist/backpacker and the other one is the oppressed, defeated and Hindi imposed Dravidian (just kidding lol).
😂😂
Diversity in 'Abhijits'😂😂
Based and factual description. Xd
Awesome
This podcast is gold mine.
I am scared also way the artillery procurement and light tanks futuristic infantry vehicle, sheer nos of variety, same is the case with rifle, thanks for throwing light on western ISR concepts Hope the Government is listening, AIM is a legend, open frank, straightforward. One of the fantastic podcast ❤🙏
