Two quotes to explain how both sides felt about that day. From MIA Ricky Williams: Williams: "It wasn’t a matter of play design as much as it was different. The key to beating the Patriots is to confuse them. Their strong suit is their preparation. They scout so well. They have such a good idea of what the other team is going to do. I remember them being frustrated on the sidelines because they didn’t know what to do.” From NE Rodney Harrison: "That was the utmost frustration. We prided ourselves on being very prepared and being able to adapt to anything in the game. We were so surprised. We were confused. You saw the frustration on the sidelines. We were bumping and running into each other.” A quote from MIA Crowder's views and insights regarding the late Tony Sporano's work that day: "They made chicken salad out of chicken crap. Coaches utilized the hell out of our best two players -- Ricky Williams, Ronnie Brown. I remember Tony Sparano, you would see the cockiness come over him. They were 100 percent, flat-out out-coaching people. It brought a little swag out of Tony that he didn’t naturally have. He wasn’t a crap-talker or arrogant, but it would come out when he talked about the Wildcat.”
Amazing. Thanks for sharing
Rip Tony Sparano.
RIP Tony Soprano
Rip coach
This was a cool team to watch...Loved the wildcat between ronnie/ricky..... Teams caught on though
Yeah similar to the read option with RG3 and Kaep, had a lot of success when it started but soon defenses adjusted and it’s used less regularly now. We still see a bit of it tho with the RPOs
They caught on, but it was also players critical to that offense getting hurt and players like Pat White being drafted that never contributed despite being drafted specifically for that role. It was the smartest coaching decision to run it for that season though. Those 2 players were the best the offense had to offer, and they ran it at times effortlessly. Bill Belichick is the ultimate scouter and sets his players up to succeed. Occasionally, like any in this sport, a single player like a Peyton Hillis can break any plans. But this was probably the first time you ever saw Bill and that defense be absolutely bamboozled at times to the point of absolute frustration. Big plays could happen, but that was a team reeling that day. They didnt know how to cover the gaps, LB's were having to realign DE and the rest of the line to not overextend and show their hand. Didn't matter, had no answer that day. Ricky Williams remembered being stomped on by 2 players late in that game after being tackled. That's how frustrated that Patriots defense was.
you can fool Belichick once but not twice
The day bill belichek got outcouched for once
@Julian Brown no no no, he was externally screaming... at the refs 😂😂😂😂😂
Same thing happened 9/11/2022
Also 2/4/2018
Outcoached too
R.I.P. Coach Sparano😔… this was legendary and changed the game
A day Mia Dolphins will never forget
This was also one of the most magical seasons in Dolphins history 1-15 record the season before A 2-4 start to the 2008 season and since than they went an amazing 9-1 record to finish 11-5 and win division
Dolphins did the same in 2020 going from 3-13 and a 1-3 start to finish 10-6 Even in 2021 started 1-7, went 8-1 the rest of the way to finish 9-8. Miami is such a 2nd half team man
I remember watching this game and thinking. "The Wildcat can work in the NFL?" 😱
This was a great day for high school coaches around the country. Gave their direct snap offenses credibility. Apopka won multiple florida state championships running this offense. Kids probably dont buy in without the dolphins success that year.
Thank you Ronnie Brown. A Dolphins fan once told me, "Just. Beat. The. Patriots." Sincerely, A Jets fan
This game changed the NFL...Brown should be in the Hall of Fame!
Hall of fame? Lmaoooo
Let’s not get carried away 😅
These guys won fantasy for me that year.
Brown ran the Wildcat to perfection but that line was GOOD back then too.
I miss these Dolphin uniforms
So this is what happened when belichick defense face a team he didn't spy on.
I fucking love Ronnie Brown
Too bad the Dolphins didn't save it for the playoffs. Oh BTW, I actually miss these old Dolphin uniforms (I miss the older unis even more) - their current unis are just lame.
Dont think they make the playoffs without it.
I wish they wear the orange jerseys they look cool
I agree
This day will live in Miami dolphins infamy! My favorite day ever as a young dolphins fan!!! I wasn’t around for the 70s or Marino days! Yeah, I know the bar is low…
I like the throwback. You should do more
Thanks man good to know, I’ll definitely try and do more throwback highlights especially before the season starts! I have another one of Steve Smith I just uploaded too if you’re interested👌🏽💯
Epic play calling against an epic coach. This lasted anotjer week and then RIP wild cat.
Joey Porter before the game said that Matt Cassel is no Tom Brady, and since he's no Tom Brady, we're throwing everything at him, including the kitchen sink. He wounded up doing the kitchen sink in the 2nd half to the Pats after sacking Cassel.
As a new England fan, I found this enjoyable.
Even though he only had one good season Tony Sparano was probably my favorite dolphins coach next to shula.
RIP President William Howard Taft.
TerraRyzer RIP
Rip president William henry Harrison
Watching after the dolphins beat the pats in New England
I remember this game they could not stop this play that season smh even won Mnf with it
I can only imagine how good this felt as a dolphin fan
What a fun game
When the dolphins are destroying patriots 🙂
Jayden Albanes it’s amazing that they did it in foxboro.... and then New England won by 20 in week 12.... crazy.... but that’s the NFL
The day we saw Bill Belichick melt. He has no F'n clue what to do that day.....
Tough look for Bill 😂 I bet this was the day he started appreciating Tom Brady 😂
Fucking loved Ronnie and Ricky
The Wildcat game
The Dolphins need to change back to these jerseys already!!!!
I actually love these jerseys, I know we're bringing the old school throwbacks back as the primary but I would LOVE to see us bring these and the oranges back in the same style.
Dolphins last win at foxboro until 2019
how about that great Ricky Williams block that was unneeded, lol! and then the personal foul the network didn't show!
Here after ricky on pivot podcast?
Belichick had no answer for the Wildcat
This was payback from week 7 of the 2007 game
This game definitely gets lost in history
My favorite part is when Fasano punched the football
If the Ravens can work on their passing game they will be more dangerous than this.
🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬
this season gotta be why the patriots never wear white at home 😂 tom brady getting hurt and this shit
Tom Brady had a knee injury week 1 2008 missed rest of the season.
What’s your point?
5th one wouldn't have counted in today's football it would have been replay of the down but still
No, it wouldn’t. Since the offsetting penalties were dead ball fouls, nothing would happen.
Dolphins last win in New England.
Do you even watch the NFL pussy? We always kill them in Miami.
@@luism8130 that's why he said "In New England" genius.
Luis M lmao 43-0
Luis M that’s why I said “in New England” not “in Miami.”
Until yesterday...
1 good day for Phin Fans, 5 rings for pat fans.
