  • It's so heartwarming to see how happy she clearly is performing and competing here. If you compare this with her performances at the Tokyo Olympics (trials day 2, podium training, and that vault during TF) you can see the difference in her face and body. You can see this was Simone doing it for Simone in Rio.

  • Simone is on such a higher level than anyone else, anything but gold in the all-around would have been a monumental upset. She's as clutch as it gets, on the same level as Usain Bolt and Katie Ledecky are in their sports. They show up, they win gold, and the actual competition is really just an exhibition of their superiority. Never a question of who is going to win, but rather how much is Simone, or Bolt, or Ledecky, going to win by. Appreciate being a witness to these athletes at their best, because nobody before them has ever been this good.

    • I don't think truly knowledgeable gymnastics fans necessarily think she's not graceful, she's just so much more of a powerhouse gymnast that it overshadows her artistry, which by the way has improved so much between 2013 and now. She used to be a bit stiff in her dance, but you can blame the choreography more for that as opposed to her dance ability. But now she definitely shows much improved fluidity of motion, toe point, flexibility, musical interpretation, and better choreography. What I always get annoyed by is when she's referred to as being "weak" on bars, which she's not. She might not have the highest difficulty on bars like she does on the other events, but she's extremely consistent, and the skills she does perform on bars she does with amplitude and minimal form deductions. In fact she's made event finals on bars at the World Championships before, outdoing many who are considered bars specialists, which she's not admittedly. She's a true all-around gymnast, the greatest ever in fact. She has no weaknesses.

    • She is not as graceful as some and her style of dance is not balletic which transfers to many people thinking it's not artistic. It's probably my biggest gymnastics pet peeve when people say a gymnast is not artistic just cause their dance isn't ballet. If you look you will notice people saying that soo much it annoys me!! @fredererbills@fredererbills7 жыл бұрын
    • fredererbills Yes we do. Since their return, Gabby never beat Aly in the AA aside one early off meet really early in the season where she had a fluke fall she's never had before. Gabby was never going to beat Aly on her A game, and Gabby was never brought to Rio to compete AA. It only happened by accident because Laurie wasn't feeling 100% and they wanted to be sure Gabby had some bars work before team comp.

    • I agree. She is lovely on other events but does not dominate them like she does on bars. If she was a US gymnast, she would have been herded into the "specialist" category and not had a chance to compete for all-around. So I'm glad for her. I do believe she was given the bronze in London (and some say in Rio as well because they thought Shang did better - not sure I agree). But she absolutely earned double gold in UB.

  • In the midst of movies and computer graphics, it's hard to recognize from an untrained eye that these are some of the most capable artists of human physical movement willing to share a sampling of their skills with a global audience. Every move they are doing is intensely difficult, and they do them one after the other. They are strong. They are agile. They are testing the limits what a human body can do against terrestrial gravity.

It is not uncommon at all and does not give an athletic advantage to those who have ADHD in sports . Just because an elite gymnats medical records were hacked does not make it in any way illegal . Being a coach I know the paperwork that goes into this and it is not taken lightly or casually and in no way is illegal or a violation unless of course you bellieve in conspiracy therories .

      @boydj2702@boydj27027 жыл бұрын
    • Gerard Greetz it's not important, that medicine is a drug and doping WADA works for american interests, so there is nothing new tbh. Try or not, but she clearly used doping, so all of these medals are just fake.

      @flowergirl31@flowergirl317 жыл бұрын
    • Flower Girl Obviously the only thing that counts is what WADA says and decides. By virtue of Therapeutic Use Exemption, athletes with particular medical conditions may apply for special permission to take prescribed substances/ medications, requiring a doctor’s diagnosis and the approval of several different sports authorities. So there are no rules being broken here, since Biles has done everything right in adhering to the global rules for obtaining permission to use a needed medication. So in conclusion the bitter Russian hackers actually ended up raising awareness about ADHD and Biles compliance with the rules. The only thing wrong here is the criminal act of breaching and invading someone else's privacy.

      @boydj2702@boydj27027 жыл бұрын
    • Gerard Greetz Do you realy sure that these were Russian hackers? and I like the way that WADA selectively refers to the use of doping by athletes (USA are allowed to use doping, Russia and others - it is forbidden). Those pills that Builes used are equated with drugs, her diagnosis was not provided for using of such serious stuff if everything is so bad - the way to the Paralympics it is always open. Why she poisons her body with such serious preparations for the victory? Meldonium on the background of these drugs looks harmless food additive tbh.
