Even if we want a backstory/story, it should be about kaiju/titan. Like that long monster shot which didn't had any human story. Just monsters interacting.
Also Alastair, Adam has said that if this movie is successful he would like the next movie to use Godzilla as Kong was in GXK and to give him a more personal story.

This movie deserves all the love. The fact that they have reached the point where we don't even need human characters to tell the story in the next one is incredible. You could tell exactly what was going on simply by the facial expressions and body language. What a fun movie! I loved every minute of it.
Half the movie was essentially a silent film (as in no talking) and it was amazing for it

This director is the best thing to happen to the monster-verse. I personally thought the series might fail after “King of the Monsters” but Adam gave the audience what we wanted all along with GVK. Now it’s even better in GXK with less humans and more monsters! Crazy that he accomplished that with the lowest budget in the franchise as well. Keep it coming Adam Wingard!
The movies earned it , saw it 3 times (twice in 3D , one in Dolby digital) and it was absolutely worth it .

I hear ya but I think I liked GvK a little bit better than GxK but I love them both and will be rewatching them many times in my life. That goes for all 5 films in the mosterverse actually. But either way I look forward to another film by Wingard to complete a Wingard trilogy then I would like to see another director come on to shake things up.

As VFX artist, This movie was a Visual Treat to my eyes, so many inspiring shots, I loved the story and humans were not boring like before

Saw it yesterday with the family. We were all so overwhelmed with how awesomely chaotic it was. My brother went in sceptical and came out saying it was his favourite Monsterverse movie yet. And the dude doesn't even like Godzilla content as much as I do. So I say that's an achievement of it's own in my opinion. 100% worth the money.
Do you people think that a small budget (around $70-75M) Solo Mothra and Rodan team up movie will work at the box-office ?? If the budget is small enough (we don't need any top actors) then even $200M will be profitable.

This film is what movies should be: Fun, Fun, and much more fun! They did it for the fans, every Kaiju scene was perfect, the villain was evil and charismatic, Kong was amazing, Godzilla was a beast and Shimo and Mothra lovely and powerful! No crazy side history, but also charismatic human cast and light and straightforward history. They made the simple, and they made good! Make more monsterverse movies!!!!
I'm glad the movie is a hit, it deserves to be. No politics, no lecturing, the director listens to the fans, and it's very entertaining. I'm sure it'll also make plenty of money with merchandising Like KOTM did.

I love to hear it. I'm 47 and my grandkids will be going to see this next weekend. It's clear the Monsterverse is now geared towards younger audiences. In a way I was bummed at first until I realized this means that Godzilla will be around for them for years to come. Perhaps even two different studios pumping out Godzilla movies, games, and shows. This I'm very happy with.

Monsterverse films seem to have an appeal that most critics don't understand
because critics actually have brains and aren't satisified by CGI alone... A good movie needs some resemblance of a decent storyline that isn't just "good guys win after they become friends and team up to save the world".

Took my boy's to see this on release, and after I told my youngest son, this was the 5th movie in the series he wanted to watch the others when we got home. So for my short review, this was an amazing addition to the Monster Verse and has a new fan. The movie truly deserves the attention its getting and I hope for its continued success.
I wish there were more Monsterverse fans here on Peru. I went the day after the premiere and the theater was almost empty, but this movie was SO awesome.
Just saw the movie yesterday in dolby with the fam and honestly I loved it. My sister hates movies and I convinced her to come watch it. She never looked away and she loves it. For the first time in my 21 years of life I've seen her love a movie. She already can't wait for the nest sequel and I can't either. 10/10

My family and I went and watched on Sunday 3/31/24. I’ve watched every Godzilla movie many times in my lifetime. My kids have watched with me and also love Godzilla . This is the first time I’ve seen a Godzilla film on the big screen and we loved it, even my wife who didn’t want to watch it fell in love with Kong and his interaction with Soku, she was engrossed with Kongs emotion, and the gia storyline. A major plus. This film has turned everyone in my family to Godzilla x Kong enthusiasts and we can’t wait for the next one.🎉🎉🎉

This year Godzilla fans is eating a whole buffet. First Godzilla Minus One wins an oscar, the first Godzilla that ever succeeded an oscar and hopefully making a sequel for their success. And second GxK The New Empire have a total audience that is 93% a huge record despite the critics, but nobody doesn't pay attention to that but we have our attention that Godzilla framchise is becoming more powerful and greater once again. They totally revived the whole franchise and we are glad that's happening today. Long Live the King!!

Had it opened under normal circumstances, Godzilla vs Kong would have opened much higher than $45 million and probably would have opened higher than The New Empire. But I'm ecstatic The New Empire total obliterated box office expectations!

I don´t get how King of the Monsters didn´t do so good. It´s my favorite of the franchise. If anything, I´m glad WB, despite that, didn´t stop there.
Same, although it did release during a busy time within the movie industry (i think endgame was being shown in cinemas at the time)
I think it was on odd time for the Monsterverse. It was released 5 years after the original Godzilla, so it's plausible some of the general audience didn't even realize it was a sequel. The marketing was good at 1st, but them they started showing too much and, for some reason I still don't understand, added rap music to the ads ro make it "cool" I guess. It was a hit with fans but the general audience seemed iffy on it. Doesn't help that they did not realize that this is in the same universe as K:SI. Things definitely helped once Kong and Godzilla were in the picture together.
The thing os that, as with mostly (with exceptions) any movie franchise, anyone could watch them in no particular order. And, in the case of King of the Monsters more so. No real need to have watched the first. I really liked the human story of King of the Monsters. That said, when they decide to make another one, I prefer the balance that Godzilla vs Kong offered in terms of kaiju fights and human story. New Empire was fun. That´s for sure. But, to me, I´m not sure how often would I like to watch it once I own it on BD.@@hunterg.1300
King of the Monsters underperforming mainly had to do with the mediocre critic reviews and the fact that it had fierce competition, being released in close proximity to films like Avengers: Endgame and the Aladdin remake.
It was my favorite too. Great balance of fun, fighting and serious writing. Ghidorah was legit.

Honestly, i love how Godzilla got that pink energy. My mum literally asked, "How'd he turn pink?" I replied with "Thats Tiamats energy, he absorbed it after annihilating her just now". i love that she was in it even if it was just for like 5 minutes.
Not perfect by a long way which is good because it can keep getting better. The humans were perfect in screen time and what they needed to do. The monsters amazing but felt a bit forced into coming together. Could have gone another 20 mins with some Godzilla back story or how the Ape King trapped Shimo

Suko was definitely the Highlight in the movie, that Small Orangutan was truly the Best one, thank God the Director or Writer didn't made Suko a weak Ape yet he made Suko truly a Lovable and Funny Titan let alone Suko was Smart and the fact he was still small and young, Suko showed he can managed himself

As soon as the movie released on the 29th, I wasn't able to go see it and didn't want any kind of spoilers from your channel, until I saw it last night. This movie will make 5x it's budget back. Every single part of this movie speaks in volumes. Characters from both sides had their respective places with humor. Adam Windgard matched our fanatic energy too well and the criticism got shattered by the majority audience....Great job overall!!!!

Even I would be kinda surprised since back then ST, SW and DW was still not burnt to the ground. Its nice to see we as a fanbase and as a franchise are eating good and standing tall. So happy for this news, I had a great time with the first watch and definitely will be trying to watch it one or two more times! Next viewing will be IMAX for sure!
