Thanks for the comparison video I always get curious when a new iPhone comes out and I do love the new camera but it didn't look like that much of difference like everyone was saying. I just got the 12 pro last year when it came and I think I'm fine with it maybe the next iPhone I'll upgrade

I did some night mode shots at the end. But they were all indoors and I didn’t have time to wait until night time

Excellent work and comparision. I browsed throuh the photo app gallery of iPhone 13 photos in the Apple store today, on a MacBook 16" and the pro cinema display. They are made in a very clever way and really look cool, real world photos don't look that way. The difference 12pro vs 13pro in real is negligable IMO.

If I were to buy between the two, choosing the 12 pro (especially for the max have bigger screen) is a brainer. If you really up in to faster refresh rate, fine go with the 13 pro but the camera of the 12 seems like similar and provides amazing quality that nobody can notice it on social medias not unless tech people. Besides, paying less price for 12 saving a couple of bucks. 👍😌
Yeah, casual ppl won't really care about it seeing 120 hertz after a bit with their phone.
You’re also getting cinematic mode, pro res video, macro, better low light capabilities, a brighter display...Sure, if you’re getting a big discount on the 12 pro, it’s worth considering, but I think it’s holding its value quite well...

If you shoot on 30 fps, pls, edit and export the video in the same frame rate. Now, the video being exported in 24 fps, all the footage has a stutter effect. Great comparison!

nice review. i wanted to have ip13 due to cinematic effect. but seeing this video made me realized 1080p vs 4k video is much better in cinematic mode that might possible be in ip14. i'll just settle for ip11 for a meantime.

The cinematic mode looks like trash around the edges the more videos I watch. I'm glad you tested it as thoroughly as you did. And 4k not being supported with it is a huge disappointment for me as a content creator. I'm stuck now between getting a used 12 Pro or waiting for the 14 lineup to see if they improve upon cinematic mode/other video features. Nice comparison!

Thank you for this video. Although I just seen another video showing how much better the iphone 13 pro camera system is if properly setup; I feel that your footage gives a much more realistic day to day use of what to expect. Not having the x2 zoom option makes the x3 transition weird. The low light shots are improved and I like the macro focusing but you have outlined several annoyances there too. For now I'll settle purchasing the iphone 12 Pro as a gift and save myself some $£$£. The future looks good once the glinches have been ironed out.

There really isn’t a good enough reason to upgrade from the 12 Pro to the 13 Pro. For someone who has been using 60Hz for a long time, sticking with it for one more year won’t be a big deal. The photos and videos are very similar. Great comparison from you once again.

Good video. Just out of curiosity, why are you shooting 4k 30 instead of 4k 60?
I'm not slowing any of my footage down. Usually I would shoot 4K 60 if I'm doing a cinematic video so I can slow mo the clips to get that smooth look. It's wasting memory space when I don't need the extra frames.

I dunno, decided to buy new iPhone (I got xs atm) choice between 13 pro and 12 pro, I do like more accurate “smoother” design from 12 pro.. a lesser cameras just looks more likeable, and I really want to buy 12 pro and difference between photos quality in my opinion is not that much you will see the difference, that you should take only 13 pro. I dunno, maybe, il make a mistake by taking 12 pro instead

Could you compare 12 pro with 13 (regular) ?? I’m struggling to choose between these two models . Or could you tell me which one would you choose .I’m an average user (not a photographer but I like good quality photos ) and I need a good battery life . Should I go with the newer one or get 12 pro to have telephoto (and LiDAR) ?
get the regular 13 over 12 pro. Reasons : Light weight, More efficient display, chip and Radios. 12 has power hungry X55 modem, 13 has very efficient one. Battery seems to last 30% longer in 13 than 12 (which is better than 12 Pro). LiDAR doesnt make that much of a difference except for night portraits (almost useless) and AR apps (drains battery). telephoto is good but 2x is not enough, its better to get some android with periscope lens with 5x to 10x optical zoom. Only thing good in 12 Pro is its 6 GB RAM vs 4 GB of 13 & 12.
Is it a good idea switching from a OnePlus 8t to the 12pro or 13pro?

Can I request for iPhone 13 Pro vs iPhone 12 Pro "max". I had the iPhone 12 Pro Max and was wondering if the iPhone 13 Pro (not max) has better battery and performance than the "Max" of the 12 Pro. Since the 13 Pro has all the upgraded specs as the 13 Pro Max, I was wondering if the iPhone 13 Pro battery is better than the Pro Max of the 12. I didn't get the 12 Pro last year as it was handicapped in the camera and battery department. I think a lot of people are interested to see how they match. 13 Pro will be more portable yet superior camera than the 12 Pro Max. If the battery is on par with the 12 Pro Max. Thank you! I think 12 pro max is somewhat similar to 13 pro. I can say 12 pro max is in the sweet spot. Same stabilisation of 13 pro ( sensor shift), bigger sensor than 12 pro thus improving low light preformance. Also, 12 pro max battery life is between 12 pro and 13 pro. Iam currently looking to buy 13 pro or 12 pro considering my budget. But after my detail comparison 12 pro max is the ideal choice if size doesn't matter. I hate phones larger than 6.5, so that's why i won't consider buying 12 pro max even though it's more budget friendly than the 13 pro.
Hi you mentioned the missing 2x Zoom on the 13pro. I totally agree with you, I wish the had just put the option to go from 1x to 2x to 3x. Does anyone know if Apple could potentially change this issue via Softwareupdate or is it something that can’t be fixed because they‘d need a different camera for that/like updating it in the 14?

The Night Mode looks better on the 12 sometimes despite the larger sensors on the 13. Looks like Apple needs to rework their algorithm a bit.

It’s hard to justify
I’ll be upgrading from my 12 pro max to the iphone 13 max, the crisper photos are so much more worth it, i always like to have the best photography going on an iphone. You can really tell the sharpness has so much improved on the 13 pro and im living for the extra zoom.

My biggest gripe is the resolution hole between 1x and 3x Main camera being only 12MP you are stuck with digital zoom degrading image quality all the way until it switches to 3x...
Hopefully all phones will get rid of digital zooms for optical in the future
The only upgrade their phone to iphone 13 is the Pro motion 120Hz and OLED display. Camera isn't the main reason unless you are coming from iPhone 11 or lower.
Don't forget the battery
