  • absolutely insane how she has a 20-25% heavier total than the other top 2 and still had a lot of room in the c+j and 3-5 kg in the snatch. Didn't think anyone would have an easier gold medal than shi or lasha but here she is

  • After Lasha and Shi , I think she's the most exciting athlete out there. She has it all: attitude, swagger, professionalism and is strong as f*ck. And she doesn't have to beat Kashirina at the Olympics to prove anything; she already beat Kashirina at the 2019 World Championships. Go watch the medal ceremony at the 2019 World Championships and watch how she treated an injured Titiana - that's what I mean by professionalism.

      @nicolastafur1771@nicolastafur17713 жыл бұрын
    • Both the men and the women have weight classes. What you're seeing here is the open weight class, these athletes can be as heavy as they want. Because more body mass often means more strength, superheavyweights are often super heavy. Men also have a superheavyweight class and they are bigger than these women. As to why men lift more, this is due to difference in hormone levels, muscle mass, bone density and a number of other physiological differences between men and women. And depending on who you ask psychological and social differences too.

      @boronguy@boronguy3 жыл бұрын
    • I'm no expert at all, but basically women have a much harder time gaining muscle (some along the lines of half the amount of men) so in order for them to be as strong as possible they gotta accept much more fat than the comparable men in the similar categories. Also this is the heaviest category so they will be as heavy as they need to be in order to lift the most weight, the same holds true for male super heavyweights where you have guys like Lasha at 170kg :D

      @Tumpz@Tumpz3 жыл бұрын
    • In simple terms, women tend to have a higher fat body composition. Also you can look at muscle gain curve to fat gain curve in Oly lifting (assuming not to much test) and men put on less fat per kg of extra muscle mass :) also they store more of that day as white fat ( the jiggly stuff on the outside ). Where is Men tend to have a high proportion of hard fats on the inside of their mid area. His is why men have harder day bellies

      @supernoodles908@supernoodles9083 жыл бұрын
    • Your question doesn't come off as disrespectful at all. Typically, males produce more testosterone as their main sex steroid hormone compared to most females who produce estrogen. *Testosterone gets converted to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by an enzyme (5-alpha-reductase), and you can think of DHT as like a super testosterone that aids in male sexual development in puberty. Both have been implicated in increasing and maintaining muscle mass.* Females who are 46XX and therefore lack Y (which carries a testes determining factor) go on to develop ovaries and produce more estrogen compared to testosterone. This is tangential info about estrogen and you can continue to read if you're interested. I mostly typed this out as review for myself lol: Excess androgen production in females is a common etiology of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), which is why women w/ PCOS may have more facial hair growth and acne, and also why they're at risk for developing a metabolic syndrome. Fat cells also produce a small amount of estrogen in peripheral tissue outside of the ovaries since they have the enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen (aromatase), and increased fat tissue can lead to excess estrogen production. Estrogen helps distribute fat in "feminizing" areas like the breasts, buttocks, thighs to help prepare the body for possible pregnancy and lactation and this fat distribution or pear-shape is associated w/ a decreased risk for metabolic disease. As females go through menopause and estrogen decreases, the fat becomes more central or apple-shaped and is associated w/ an increased risk.
