Thats why his corner was yelling at Cormier about him doing the total opposite of executing their game plan. If you look at the first round, that was the game plan. He made Stipe think about a lot of things. He hit him with a couple of strong low kicks, he wrestled Stipe, kept the pressure, boxed him, clinched him. After that all of a sudden he just walked towards Stipe with his hands low with no regard for Stipe's boxing and stopped doing everything else.

I think so as well. If there is a rematch, DC needs to stick to the gameplan more though. The first round was beautiful. He gave Stipe so much to think about when hitting him with a couple of good low kicks, pressure, wrestling, clinch work and boxing. Then all of a sudden he fell in love with being able to hit Stipe constantly with his boxing and casually walked him down without keeping his hands up and just totally stopped wrestling and giving Stipe more to think about. His corner was mad as hell in-between rounds.
