This stage 3 modified BMW E60 535d has over 440bhp and 900Nm (!) torque. It's serious competition for the AMGs, and it even nearly beat a new gen BMW M5!

Actually a corvette gets like 30 mpg which is somewhere in the neighbourhood of 8 to 9 liters per hundred kilometers which is pretty good for the displacement and performance offered.

Joel Friberg shalom. It's obvious that you let off the gas if you want to gain traction. Losing traction on purpose or not doesn't matter. This is not an arguement that proves he didn't do it on purpose. If he didn't do it on purpose then he would have a great launch like other times. It's not odd he lost traction right when he raced someone with a bad launch. It's a way to humiliate the other.
Kubi When i said that he let off the gas, i meant that i think he did it because otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to correct it and spun out. If you look at his launches against the other more powerful cars, you can see that his rear tires keep traction. Where as when he goes against the Golf GTI, his rear tires are spinning more or less from the line. So i think that he used traction/launch control against the other cars and that he turned it off against the golf, maybe to give it a slightly fairer chance (and fully launching a diesel packing 440hp and almost 1000nm with traction control turned off without spinning is pretty much impossible). But that’s just what i think. B`shalom

This is inspiring to watch as I bring my own F10 535i to stage 2 levels. I don't have that crazy diesel pull but we'll see what a bigger turbo does down the road.
Ah yes.. M57 bulletproof engine . Remove DPF, EGR and Swirl flaps and this engine will last literally forever ( with good service and care) and has a tremendous tuning potencial. A 335D /535D on stage 3 can mess up with newer sports cars for sure and just needs literally the half of the fuel than a sports car with gasoline engine. Crazy times we live in.

You have to look at the price, year and technology difference. It's probably 10 times more cheaper than those cars it's racing a decent 535 cost 5k in UK. He probably spent another 3 to 4k on mods. Them cars cost 50 to 80k even more. Now the age. Them cars are brand new, this car came out in 2004, 14 years old car. Then technology difference, them cars got 7 or 8 speed some with dual clutch lighting shifting transmissions, adjustables dampers, and suspensions, launch control, 5 different driving settings and many more and E60 got none of that. So look what it does for what it is. #respect the E60. Till this day, 14 years after its birth, theres no other diesel from any other manufacturers can come close to it. This 3.0littre M57 engine is a bullet proof engine with so much potential. My one pushing 350 and 720nm torque and i paid 5k in total including the mods (dpf cat silencer egr delete and a remap) no other diesel on road can challenge it. There's not that many brand new cars it's size comming out with 350bhp. Unless they're the top of the range with the biggest engine such as RS5, rs6, rs3, E63, c63, M5, M4, them ones which cost 10 times more than my car
Jay 535E60 had a e60 530d indeed bulletproof engine if maintained properly, now i have a f10 with the n57 engine i have to say this engine feels very fragile feels not as punchy like the m57 feels slower aswell

Technologically E60 is brand new, advanced and top notch car with full aluminium front. Since E60 times, there is nothing technically new. F10 is step back with steel front, G30 has nothing new underneath. Ofc automatics are faster, but i hate automatic so there is no topic for me.

535D should be double-turbo. And i would be very surprised if this particular car haven't had the turbos exchanged for hybrid turbos, thus producing that mindblowing torque throughout the whole rpm range.

Considering the differences in price of the 535 to the others it offers excellent value and performance.
Economical too, no other car can produce 400 BHP and use only 15l/100km in the city and 6.5l on mottorway.

Speed does not matter when considering if a car is a supercar or not. The 300SL is a supercar and nowadays even a Hyundai beats it.

Not every Tesla does 0-100kmh in 3 seconds. There are many different types. Only the P90D and P100D models are able to achieve such an acceleration. The one in the video does not.

Many people don't know that diesel engines produce considerably higher torque than their petrol counterparts and higher torque leads to better acceleration. And drag racing is all about acceleration.

Ik heb een Bmw 330d e90(facelift) gechipt ook en roetfilter eruit. Hij is ongeveer 300 pk en 610 nm koppel. Heb jij nog tips voor mij? Ik heb nog zo'n nieuwe downpipe liggen, maar heeft het nog nut om erop te monteren terwijl de roetfilter eruit is.
Hey! Dit is niet mijn eigen auto. De eigenaar van deze 5-serie is lid van @team35official op Instagram. Misschien kun je het via die weg aan hem vragen. Een grotere downpipe is waarschijnlijk sowieso wel beter, ook al is de roetfilter er al uit. Een grotere downpipe zorgt natuurlijk altijd voor meer flow waardoor je meer ruimte creëert voor extra pk's bij het tunen.

Not really clickbait since many people consider the M5 and M6 GT3 supercars. And 'to mess with' doesn't necessarily mean winning. Imo, it's very impressive that a 12 year old regular diesel sedan keeps up with newer BMW M-models and AMGs
@@LarsMarsCars The only car there that could possible be considered a supercar is the GT3. And this is not just a 12 year old regular diesel of course. It was a very good and very expensive diesel when it was bought new, and it's been modified to produce much more power than it originally had. It's not apples to apples is it? An F10 M5 with the same treatment would be producing some 800hp. Comparing stock cars to modified ones is always silly. In fact, when this car was new, you could also buy a 535i for the same money (even less?), which in this sort of high state of tune has been known to easily break 600hp. Stop trying to make diesels seem fast, the same money always buys you a faster petrol car.

Gotta love beamers engine. They can take anything. I have a 1 series 118d (2.0 4 cyl diesel) pushing 480nm and 200hp, with a basic repro /map and the original but rebuilt turbo and no particul filter. NO SMOKE surprisingly
200 hp is maximum 420 nm. 480 nm is 220 hp. Dont lie.

How can the 535 handle 900nm? The torque converter is good for 650-700nm torque.
