@@hombre-lobo5673 Kevin Rooney was, at first, a fighter himself but Cus D'amato realised deep down that Rooney couldn't box that well himself but, he UNDERSTOOD the fundamentals of Boxing & above ALL, Kevin Rooney UNDERSTOOD Mike Tyson!! Mike actually listened to him, they had a bond, a respect for each other. Mike Tyson NEVER had a trainer that would stand up to him, they didn't wanna lose that big paycheck!! Mike fired Rooney for saying that "Robin Givens is about as pregnant as I am!!". So Don King wanted Rooney out of the picture as HE was the last bond that Mike had with Cus D'amato. Don King was/is an arsehole, FACT 💯 But lastly, d'you honestly think that Kevin Rooney would have let Mike step in the ring Vs James Douglas in the condition he was? Hell no. Mike's head & lateral movement were virtually non existent at that point. He looked flabby against Frank Bruno in February 25th "1989. So what I'm saying is that once Rooney was gone, so we're the attributes that made Mike Tyson into the fighter he was, period. Also, NO, Rooney didn't produce another World 🌍 Champion but he trained ex amount of fighters over the years, yeah. Rooney Vs Alexis Arguello is a naughty Knockout. THAT'S when Rooney became a trainer & then became Mike's head trainer. To this day I've NEVER heard Rooney publicly disrespect Mike, even after ALL these years. After the loss to Douglas, Kevin Rooney actually wanted to train Mike again. Oh yeah, Rooney helped train Vinny Pazienza, so there's ONE fighter for you. He became head coach & helped Vinny win back his World 🌍 Title. IF you don't know who Vinny Pazienza IS, then you have NO business commenting on Boxing forums & websites in the first place. I don't understand how People think that Tyson was overrated. Tyson had absolutely no advantages (on paper) in this fight. In his prime, Tyson fought everybody. Tony Tucker was no slouch; 6'5'' ,220, 10" reach advantage, undefeated title holder, etc. You can't ask for a more formidible opponent during that time period. The fights that Tyson did lose were because he was not focused, past his prime, and he didn't have the right people in his corner.

Tucker was very underrated. Tall, long arms, fluid, athletic, good chin, defense, & stamina. If he had more of a mean streak, he could have been almost like a heavyweight version of young Thomas Hearns.

Tony Tucker broke the record for most knockouts and challenged Prime Mike Tyson with the style of Muhammad Ali
EVERYONE except Tyson ducked Tony Tucker until he was in his late 30's. He is a very underrated fighter of this era.
Yes
Tucker is a really good fighter
Should of had a rematch for sure
Great again to the winner, Congrats.. Tony Tucker’s mullet belongs in the hall of fame..

@@afridgetoofar1818of course you do know that Tyson is really just a big ole sissy? But, I'd never be the one who'd say that to his face!😳

This was his breakthrough for Mike. He needed this win in that moment
Mike should have kept Kevin in his corner. But regardless, beating a guy 6 inches taller with a 10 inch longer reach is an incredible feat.
Rooney sucked, name me at least one HW champion that Rooney produced?
l
@@hombre-lobo5673Tyson? Isn’t that good enough of a resume
His career was bodying giants. It’s the weight class. Reach is an advantage, but weight and reach ≠ Knockout proof.
Tyson was the "Most Exciting Entertaining Heavyweight" EVER! And i Wouldnt even be Far Off to Say "Greatest Fighter" Ever.
He is definitely in the Top 15 all time. Might even be in the Top 10.
You’d be way off. First of all, he won all his titles from mediocre boxers. He destroyed those with little talent. And then was knocked out by buster, Douglas. He fought too great boxes, and was totally beat, twice by Evander Hollyfield and totally destroyed by Lennox Lewis. He was a brawler and you enjoy watching him destroy those with less talent.
He fought all mediocre fighters?? Come on now, stop da Cap. U Stretchin w that one. And for the Record, most of the otha Great fighters took Losses Also, Not Only Tyson. Only one got off Clean w that one is "Rocky Marciano", Yes. All the others took L's just like Tyson. So Knock it Off, actin like Only Tyson Took Losses. Smfh

@@mopar_keys Tucker was controlling the fight. I felt like Tucker if he hadn’t injured his hand would have won. Tyson in the second half became the boxer, and it was like Leonard vs Duran I. The judges were witnessing foreign territory, and Tucker fought his fight and deserved some recognition.
Round 1 Tyson 9 Tucker 10
Mills Lane was kept busy keeping this fight going and theres a reason he is the best referee in the world and heres a perfect example of why..Tucker went to clowning Tyson and that was his down fall in this fight..every time he got funny Tyson got serious and Tucker paid for it..Tucker fought a great fight though
That tucker man is a dam good boxer

Going 12 rounds with Tyson and leaving with no injuries... Respect
Tyson still great boxer.
Tyson's Career, was ruined by some young woman, who invited him to her Hotel Room at 3am in the morning. (for a Cup of Coffee ?) then accused him of Rape, he spent 2 years 6 months, in Prison, and he was NOT the same Boxer, when he came out. (just like Ali) Ali said, IF ? a Black American, is not considered the equal of a White American, then I not going to fight, and probably get killed, in Vietnam. Correct !!! Ali was sent tp Prison for 3 years. The way Black Americans are treated has still not changed, and probably, NEVER will, particularly by the POLICE.
Still?

I see no Afro's no more😬 It use to be cool
An Afro gives the look of more brains Higher forhead
Afro in the front Party in the back
His survival tactics was too much holding otherwise Tyson would have bombarded his head with deadly blows
I mean that's what most of tyson's opponents did...what else could they do, not like they had much of a choice 💀💀
Ali held Frazier a million times in their second fight, but he also beat the hell out of Frazier in that fight. Pro level boxers are taught to get their points and then fing a way to stop the opponent from responding.
Holding is illegal when in excess. Tucker lacked the stamina and power to hurt Mike.
This is why Tyson never fought Lennox Lewis. When they were young. Long fights wasn't his thing. Plus Lewis was a heavy hitter 😊
Mike and Lennox fought June 8, 2002.
Not really Tyson was in freaking prison 🤣
They sparred and fought, if they had fought when he was young Tyson's chances were 80 or 90 percent better Tyson bout ended him in the sparring session 😊
Wrong they didn't fight because Tyson turned pro in 1985 well Lewis was still an amateur and waiting till 2002 to fight Tyson who was not the same fighter
@@77BigMando no he was literally in prison he would have been forced to fight Tyson professionally had he not went to prison way sooner , everyone that knows anything about boxing knows this .....Lennox Lewis was pro in 89 ... 89 to 2003
Iconic referee. Professional and competent. Love seeing him in the ring.
Where was this solid right hand at the very beginning of the first round that rocked Tyson I just can't see it. I think it's always best to watch these fights with the bias commentary off. And simply judge for yourself
This is the best comment👍
Yea definitely didint “rock him”and he ate the punched but the commenters were just trying to make it interesting I guess
I didn't see it either.
Dude Mike said he rocked him In the first round at the end
Watch the fight and do you see Tyson rocked in the first round like the commentators say
TUCKER could have been more formidable with more training but WOW holy hell he went the distance and carried well
Cheers for the upload 👍
Calling out Tysons and his reputation..we saw Mr. Tyson go through stages of maturity..Will say he was once a member of our community and he was nothing but respectful to everyone who ever had the opportunity to meet him..A valued member of our community and when he moved away we all felt a loss..Interesting to note here that the Mansion he left behind is now a Church..We were honored to have Mike Tyson as a member of our community and he is dearly missed here..

Mike Tyson never gave any opportunity for his opponents to box, he always charge forward with absolutely no pause. That made him a very difficult fighter for anyone to defeat.
What an unbelievable stamina tyson got 😮😮
Daily 4am roadwork.
Tyson is the kid from the hood.
Until his retirement and interviews post boxing I didn't realise how gifted and skillful a boxer tyson was . Most explosive fighter since the previous greats.
Best HD Qualität - Good !
This makes me think that a Prime Ali had a realistic chance to beat a prime Tyson, something I had the tendency to doubt everytime the qyestion came to my mind.
Prime Ali beats everyone except maybe Lennox Lewis.
@@steveetienneLewis gets beat as well

In these Tyson fights, he can really get your heart rate up, along w/building your stomach muscles just watching!!, not to mention feeling everyone of those left hooks that connects on point!
Should Have Been Given To Tucker For Going 12 Rounds With Tyson! I Can't Think Of Any Other Boxer Doing That?
Clinching trophy 🏆🤼
Keep thinking.
If the sportscaster would shut up it would be better !
Tony Tucker was one good boxer, kept Tyson off balance for 12 rounds but he just did not do enough to win the fight. Mills Lane was the greatest ref in all history. He also knew the fighters and was well respected.
It certainly was evident that Tucker was not using his right hand in the latter part of the fight. must have picked up an injury somehow.
Конечно, обниматься только и лез
Remember in this fight, he is only 21 years old. When a man gets older, a man becomes stronger and tucker is older.
Tyson's hardest fights were OUTSIDE the ring .. Inside he is a King 👑
Can Tyson defeat Tucker in this bout
All Tucker showed is that he can last a fight by clenching or hugging Tyson round after round instead of boxing. He was probably giving Mike LGBT vibes & goose bumps with all that intimate hugging.
Nothin better than hearing Kevin call combos and Mike executing..... really miss dat
Tucker was a good fighter.
After that uppercut Tucker connected on Tyson in the first round , he have moved in immediately because Tyson was vulnerable, for 2 seconds.
Tyson only fought two good fighters, Evander, Holyfield and Lennox Lewis. He lost both times to Holyfield, and was destroyed by Lewis.
I hate these fights. 🦏 vs 🦒 The short guy can't get the best part of his punch 🥊 into the tall guy. The tall guy is always protecting his body, so his longer arms get tired. Tucker twirling his right arm? Mike should have 💥💥💥 him right then. Mike at the end, saying he is a perfectionist was🏆top comment! Best part of vid.

Tyson got a lot of criticism for his performance against Buster Douglas but IMO he wasn't here much better. He wasn't the animal we were acquainted with. Maybe it's because Tucker (and Douglas) didn't let him be. But since he got the win no one seem to notice.
Mike responded to someone on a podcast that he had started partying and spent the night before partying with a number of ladies. He wasn’t making excuses or bragging. Just telling it how it was.
PP Mi
Mike was evading punches here, Tucker was fighting back but was using his defensive skills well to defend and attack where possible. Against Douglas, Mike was stationary walking straight to Douglas without evading anything.

Tucker was a Beast and was 48-1 by the Time he went the distance with Lennox Lewis also !!! He was much bigger than Tyson also ! Primed Tucker would've given every single Heavyweight in existence a Run for the money including , Holmes , Ali , Fraizer, Holyfield, Bowe, Mercer, Klitschko Bro's, Morrison, Tyson Fury, Wilder and all the rest of them !!! ! After he lost a decision to Lennox Lewis in 1993 he was finished and by 1995 he was past his prime and lost to a younger Bruce Seldon whom Tyson beat easily !! Lewis fought Tucker older and Tyson fought Tucker in his absolute Prime ! By 1995 he starting adding Losses to that great 48-1 record ! He basically was and impressive 34-0 with 29 KO When he fought Tyson !!!
Tucker really did a fine job here, but Tysons punch speed never diminished? Nuts
When Sugar Ray said i invented that move and was corrected by the commentator. I lost respect to Sugar and he was one of my favorite fighters. But when you try and claim an Ali move to be his own i draw the line. Next he will try and claim the Ali shuffle which he copied and did after seeing the great Legend Ali do.
What was the patch about ?
Great quality footage for the time. Punchy colours too 😂
Tucker 1% attack 99% hug
Tyson was chasing Tucker all around the ring the whole fight.

There is no keeping Tyson on the outside. Tucker had a great strategy but Tyson was unstoppable at this point in his career.

These 80's fighters just don't seem to have the fury and conditioning of fighters like Frazier or Ali or Foreman. I wonder if it was the party scene at the time and cocaine specifically that had to do with it.
