Its very simple. Izzy brings in views & gives the fans what they want. Also he has a lot of respect for Dana White & the UFC company as a whole. Sean on the other. Says outlandish shit. Does outlandish shit. That is super controversial to the company. Dana White personally doesn't like that shit. Also the UFC wants to have a fight in Africa. To see who is The King of Africa. This fits the storyline. Bisping says he thought Sean lost 4-1. Listen. Sean out boxed Izzy. He out boxed Dricus. He didn't cause enough damage throughout the fight. The Weasel MMA broke it down.
izzy had one of the longest reigns of any division ever, what the hell are you talking about? he is also the only person to ever hold the MW belt twice.
Lost to Alex, got the belt back and lost. Doesn't deserve a title shot coming off a loss.
@@adagiostan1938 he reigned for 3 1/2 years... not to mention if you look at the rankings the only other person that deserves a title fight is whittaker, but hes had a ton of title shots himself, and is just gonna lose again to izzy if they fight. hes also one of the most active fighters on the roster, and wont fight once a year like islam does
@@funnyguyty he didn't reign for 3 years, he lost to Alex. After he won the belt back he didn't get a single defense, also he's coming off a domination loss to Strickland. It makes more sense to give Whittaker a title shot because this is a new matchup, Jared deserves a title shot more than Izzy, Strickland deserves it more.
@@adagiostan1938 i want what ur smokin bro. first off go look at his record, from the time he won the belt to when he lost to alex, it was over 3 years. thats just a fact. also when he beat alex it was one of the biggest knockouts in memory. jared and sean dont hold candles to the accolades or the resume that izzy has. u must just be once of his cringe haters
@@funnyguyty not really, he already got a immediate title shot. He shouldn't get one off a loss again. He didn't even get and title defenses, so he's in the same boat as Sean but actually worse. Atleast Sean had a close fight when he lost the belt. Resumes and legacy don't matter, you gonna match cruz up with O'Malley because he's the best bantamweight?

As much hate Izzy gets, and as much of a dickhead he can be. He has had the most impressive title reign in middleweight history. Each of his defenses being against tougher opponents than 90% of Silva's entire resume. But he doesn't have long left. He's an athletic fighter opposed to a fundamental fighter, as soon as his athleticism drops even a touch he goes down a level as a fighter because his style is reliant on being quicker and more athletic than his opponents. If the UFC wants to cement him as the "middleweight goat" he kind-of needs one last good championship win, and if he loses it gives Dricus' reign more credibility. Sean's got time, Whittakers got time, Cannonier deserves a shot, but it seems Dana is not interested in giving him one at all. So no, I don't think Izzy getting a shot is some crazy injustice, Sean had one great performance and then tried to jab and run his way through his first defence, I think he does need to atleast prove he's top level before getting another shot.
Strickland just isnt a big draw, horrible pay per view numbers, I will definitely be watching izzy vs du plessis, i didnt watch strickland vs du plessis 1, dont care about a rematch and i guess thats the view of most people, Izzy creates story lines that we've followed for years, taken down some of the biggest names in his weight class and higher, who has strickland beaten? A lot of no names stuck in the top 15, Other then a miracle victory over Izzy, he never beat anyone in the top 5 and because of that 1 single fluke victory, Strickland is ranked #1 which makes no sense to me.
I can understand your point of view, I would disagree that the Strickland win was a fluke... you do not fluke a 50-45 or 49-46 decision
