    • Just bought a keyboard with Cherry MX Blues and I don't really find them all that loud at home, even when I'm doing some very rapid heavy typing however I sure as heck won't consider using the Blue switches around the office with my colleagues around.

    • needs other brands like Razer, Outemu, Kaihl, Gateron etc though... Cherry isn't the only switch manufacturer even if they are some of our favorites (yes I realize their custom switches are in this video as well.) Love my cherry switches and this video was AWESOME... would just love to see one with MORE... MORE... MORE!!!! HAHAHAHAHA... :evillaugh:

    • They’re more tactile out of all. The are the loudest in clicks in my opinion. But the sound will bother you a lot over time. Especially at night when gaming or typing.

  • I like how you're getting to the point without any talking, but it would've been a bit better had you typed actual text instead of pressing keys randomly. That would've given us a better idea of how the keys sound during day-to-day typing, but still this is one of (if not) THE best videos I've seen demonstrating the sounds of different keys! Thanks. :)

    • Thank you, actually 'normal' typing was incorporated into the sequences per keyboard slide - however there is an issue with only showing 'normal' typing as you have suggested, as this is not normal for everyone. Some people type more softly, while others more harshly - I think it's better to show a range to get a better audible sense than to only show one way of typing. There will be an update video to this, so if you have any other suggestions, please let us know. Thank you.

    • @@wasdkeyboards Thanks for the response. Yes, you do have a good point about demonstrating different typing styles. Since you've asked me for suggestions, what I'd do in your case is I'd do a couple of different typing speed tests: there are words per minute (WPM) counting websites, and you could keep track of how many WPMs you type. Clearly, this could only work with ranges and not precise WPM numbers. The Wiki article on WPMs (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Words_per_minute ) gives the following ranges: "Karat et al. found that one study of average computer users in 1999, the average rate for transcription was 32.5 words per minute, and 19.0 words per minute for composition.[2] In the same study, when the group was divided into "fast", "moderate", and "slow" groups, the average speeds were 40 wpm, 35 wpm, and 23 wpm, respectively.[3] (...) An average professional typist types usually in speeds of 43 to 80 wpm, while some positions can require 80 to 95 (usually the minimum required for dispatch positions and other time-sensitive typing jobs), and some advanced typists work at speeds above 120 wpm" I'd try these ranges, assuming you have someone who can type in the higher ranges as well. I know you referred to the way people press buttons on their keyboards (how hard they are hammering it), but speed is also indicative of sound, and at any rate there's no way to quantify how hard you press buttons, but you can quantify typing speeds.     • @@alittax Thank you, most likely we will just type 'normally' in the next video and it won't be as diverse of a test or representation, but it seems like this is what most people care about. I could have a bunch of people typing to get a range but then the video would be very long. There are a lot of factors that go into a production like this and a lot to consider and think about. :)
