Jimmy is an incredible lawyer. Shame Walter never gave him the respect he deserves.
Facts. Fact is that Walter White couldn’t have done it all without Saul/Jimmy. Yeah, Saul might’ve chosen to work for Walter and go into full business with him of his own free will, but he definitely deserved more respect from Walt. It genuinely baffles me how Walt apparently thought Saul was a worse person than he was.
@@jakandratchet9930 Well said. It's hilarious how Walt acts as if he's some useless fool when without him his empire would be non existent. Just off the top of my head Saul set him up with Gus (The most profitable partnership he could possibly get...(It's not Saul's fault Walter went and fucked that all up) Walter failed to acquire the Car Wash until Saul got one of his guys on it and took care of it. He had nowhere to cook and no connections until Saul gave not only a flawless front to cook under but also gave him a crew at his beck and call He got his secretary to make the call to Hank about Maries car accident Getting Hank off his trail while he was seconds / inches away from losing everything. Got his partner Jesse out of countless legal predicaments. I could go on but I've already wrote a book.
@@AllOfTheHallows Saul (well granted, Jesse is the one who told Saul about it, but Saul was the only one who could tell Walter) is also literally the reason Walter was able to figure out how to kill Gus. Without Jesse and Saul, Walter never would’ve figured out that Hector and Gus are enemies. I don’t think Walter ever took the time to appreciate the people who worked for him and did right by him. Walter always took them for granted, and demanded even more out of them.

9:35 - That's the guy who speaks out of turn in Breaking Bad. He eventually speaks out of turn 1 too many times and Tuco beats him to death. It's funny that they bring every character back in this prequil.

You didnt seen Nacho in Breaking Bad, but you heard his name.... the scene where Walt and Jesse put Saul in the desert pit. Saul's debut episode.

It just occured to me that Abulita was played by the actress playing Tony Montana's mom in Scarface. Vince Gilligan really is a fan of that one...
It was brief but the shot of the kid's sideways foot is a favorite of mine. And Jimmy's right, he's one hell of a lawyer if he talked Tuco down from murder. I think showing respect and playing into Tuco's love for his family really helped him out.
As someone who watched Breaking Bad from its literal television premier on AMC way back in the day, feverishly in love with (almost) everything about that masterful show, I will make the bold but very real proclamation that Better Call Saul is the slightly superior show, in my opinion. I'm not in the business of spoiling anything one bit but I will amplify the sentiment that BCS is fantastically written from the get-go, whereas Breaking Bad took a figurative minute to find its footing, and you guys are in for a bountiful treat. I've steadfastly enjoyed your reactions, they've become a delightful routine of my day when I see you've uploaded, and I hope you know you both are profoundly appreciated! I can't wait for more!

Fun detail that is not spoilery as it's a small line from BB! In the episode where Saul is first introduced when Walt and Jesse kidnapped him and took him to the desert, Saul was terrified and kept screaming "It wasn't me, it was Ignacio". He also thought that someone named Lalo sent them and got way calmer after he realised that it wasn't the case. Nacho is short for Ignacio, which is the name of Tuco's guy, the one who visited Jimmy at the end of this ep (Tuco mentioned his name when he was calling his henchmen)

Glad you guys are loving the show! This is still one of my favourite episodes. Tuco is always a win, but I also loved the introduction of Nacho Varga, played masterfully by Michael Mando! First impression was even though Tuco is much more violent and sadistic, there’s an air of equal dread with Nacho, despite Nacho being the more honourable/reasonable of the two evils. Nacho’s smart, he’s got a good read on people, opportunistic, etc. Anyone who’s that close with Tuco, and manages to persuade him has to be capable. Also, props to the two actors who played the two skateboard idiots. Even the most minor of characters having such excellent actors really tells a lot about this show. I’m glad you guys are loving it so far! Believe me when I say there’s much more to come.

Nacho was one of my favorite characters in BCS.
Spoiler Alert. This Jimmy guy eventually becomes a crooked lawyer changes his name to Saul Goodman and helps a meth dealer named Walter White. I think they made a show about all that too, maybe check it out sometime.

I'm trying to avoid spoilers here, but Nacho is one of the greatest character arcs that didn't make it into BB. There's seasons of build up to go.

The introduction to Nacho, who if you remember when Saul was introduced on Breaking Bad he said “No, it wasn’t me it was Ignacio, he’s the one!” when out in the desert, also this episode shows why he dislikes deserts as much as he does. Nacho is Ignacio’s nickname and what was once a name in a throwaway line is now a full on character that Jimmy actually knew at one point. It’s also fascinating seeing how Jimmy/Saul was able to have Tuco not kill the two brothers and basically got them a reduced sentence from death to a broken leg each. It defiantly shows how good of a lawyer he actually is. Obviously he did a good job on Breaking Bad with certain scenes regarding the law, but since he wasn’t a true central focus on Breaking Bad, like having a whole episode just focusing on Saul compared to Walt, Jesse, Gus or Mike, his talents weren’t able to be shown as much as they’re shown on this show. It was also of course cool seeing Tuco, No-Doze and Gonzo again. It’s also cool to see how Jimmy deals with witnessing two guys get their legs broken as well as how Chuck is with Jimmy once he arrives to his place drunk. Then to see Jimmy in his element and then more interactions with Mike regarding stickers and the last scene with Nacho was truly fantastic. @@DC3328 I remember back when the episode aired, they already revealed the characters name at that point, despite it not really being said in the episode and that lead to people to speculate as to who Nacho was and Vince and Peter did mention that was the Ignacio referenced in Breaking Bad, so this was something that was reviled early on.
@@Jared_Wignall no they didn't make him Ignacio until later, I've seen interviews about it. Regarding the fans speculating, sure, but you're not letting the reactors speculate which is the issue.
