Rebuilding a car is one of those things in life that actually is very much similar to the time that your friend said that one day you'll fully understand why so many things are how they are and amazing it is to take the time and answer any question with a question, but not this one?

Heyo! Hope you guys enjoy this video just as much as I know you would enjoy wearing one of those cool Fiero T-Shirts that can be found through a link in the description.
Is itThe radio?
primer was a badass movie.
This is literally the longest strip tease I've ever watch. LOL I almost never want it to end. Keep it coming. Oh it's something to do with the steering column isn't it. I know you fixed it, but can't remember if it was completely fixed.
To fix the hole in the headliner, just schnag a bit of material from the excess (if you still have some) and glue it into the hole (making sure the stitching lines up) Edit: rear view mirror, i win
“You really feel it in your forearms...kinda takes me back to middle school”.. Lmaooooooo .
Anyone else been here since he dragged it kicking and screaming out of the woods?
Reporting for duty!
Was just telling my wife that
Me...👍
Me me me meeee. Oh yes now I’m ready to sing from the top of the mountains “I was there from the beginning”, if only I knew the words to the song.
Yep, it came out when I broke my finger at work. I watched it when I was waiting at the doctor.
He started the project as a boy and he'll finish it as a senior citizen, but by God, he'll finish it.
Project Binky has entered the chat.

That's how I feel. I'm only half way through my engine rebuild and it's been 7 months since the first day I started working on pulling it. Probably a big part of it is that I'm teaching myself every single part because I've not done the majority of it before.
The rear view mirror is missing that’s what your talking about.
When the screwdriver slipped and fcked up the headliner...I felt that.
I probably would’ve started crying not gonna lie hahahaha
ive done it, it sucks
I felt it right in the FAMILY JEWELS!!!!!!!!!
@@tylercala I don’t even have a headliner lol
I still cannot figure out how was he literally pulling the screwdriver towards himself , instead of twisting it :D
You' ll never find the molding you bought two years ago until you order another set.
Aint that the truth??
I felt that screwdriver going through the headliner like when Old Yeller got shot.
That moment for me was the panel falling over in the last episode, but the headliner hurt too.
Couldn't you sew a small patch over that hole, at least to keep it from propagating?
I have an idea. You know those stickers behind the visor that talk about airbags? You can buy one that says. “Warning no air bag” an put it over that hole. That hole would bug the crap out of me.
@@geoffmerritt I forgot about that. Man i’ll you what. I cried so freakin’ hard over that book. There’s no way I could ever ever ever see that movie.
Should be enough give in the foam backing to find some thread in a similar colour and hand stitch the fabric on opposite sides of the hole to pull it closed.
*checks phone before going to bed* "Oh a 41 minute video on this Fiero build I've been following for a year. Better watch that."

Thank you roast beef sandwich, very cool
Right? It's a great rebuild series. Can't wait to see the Fiero done and the next project
My guy almost cried when he sent the screwdriver through the headliner.
I would cry like a little baby
There needs to be a "god dammit" compilation when the series is over
the god dammits are how you know it's a real project
the amount of times i have felt that way lol
That hurt to watch on the headliner

Such a counter productive phrase when you think about it...
"Reminds me of middle school." I'm dying.

Those were the days!!!!! Lmao
its not a fiero video without that bit of existential dread

I know these are filmed well in advance, but I have an idea for you. Try to take the extra headliner that you're going to cut off later, and punch out a hole the same size as the screwdriver hole. A careful hand and some thin fabric adhesive may be able to make a pretty good plug for the hole. This project has been a huge inspiration for me and my MR2-Spyder :)
Man, I loved this series. The lessons learned, the ultimate craftsmanship that followed, the wit and humor. Oh, and the music. If I could nominate this series for an award, I’d give it my highest honors!

No Fiero has ever been a pile of junk. Each model had it’s good and bad features.
No paint is ever perfect out of the gun. The "Perfect Paint" is a labor of love with lots and lots of sanding and many layers of clear coat lol
I got to give this man credit. he rebuilt well.... revived a depreciated old broken Fiero and even though this took years its still a good deed to society and inspiration to many people who want to rebuild a car their selves. he did the paint, bodywork, mechanical work and made videos about it. this man is a lad he deserves an Oscar
To some Fiero's were crappy,,GM has made along the years much crappier cars,,like the Chevette,,but this car is fun to drive,,just add more power and vrroomm

Oh my goodness. I cried inside when that screw driver went through the head liner! Keep up the awesome work!
My cousin lives across the US. I talk to him when I can and when he is available. Every conversation usually includes a 2 minute bit of "Dude did you watch part..." Or "When the hell is Ronald putting out the next part?" Thanks for this. We both started watching separately and found out by accident we were both following.
My brother and I do the exact same thing.
This is, without a doubt, the best car restoration series I've seen. Not just the work itself, but the presentation and the occasional philosophy.
i love your humor lmao im so excited to see it 100% finished!!!! even after you complete the series please film any updates you make to it!!😭
When this is finished, it deserves to go in an Automotive Museum. With the amount of effort you put into this.
The rear view mirror is missing that’s what your talking about.
Along with the fuzzy dice, high school graduation tassel, or playboy bunny card air freshener.
And floor mats...
Those are all good guesses. I wonder if it's not the windshield. Maybe that doesn't count? IDK.
I was gonna guess that but remembered he's gonna replace the windshield so there's no point in fixing that yet.
Missing the boost gauge for a turbo it could have
This kid needs to direct a movie! Seriously what a talented dude!!
As someone who grew up in the 80’s, I just wanna say great job choosing the music.
This is the thing I look forward to in every episode. He really went to town with this theme!
"Scrippy-Scrapes" - that's a technical term.
I'm always so sad when you screw something up. Cause you're so precise and diligent with this project, and it sucks to see you stressed or angry at yourself. But it's also very cool that you are confident enough to leave these parts in, and you don't just whitewash the whole process.
The only way to learn... I hate it when it happens for a second or millionth time.
I think he would make a great television show. I fully support this man and his determination to learn! Could you imagine if there was a television show that wasn't fake, where a guy would Rescue one “Unique Automobile" per season? Just an average middle-class man and his love for cars. Teaching and Learning while the fans learn as well. GM needs this man so we can bring the Pontiac name back along with a new Fiero!
@@jessecuster5877 We have a new Fiero. It's called the new mid-engined Corvette. Same damned thing as the Fiero could and should have become. [sigh] Ronald is a very talented and determined and overall likeable guy. I started watching this out of nostalgia for my own Fiero 2M4 SE. There is still a lot of that, and a lot of love for a car that I miss every day, but Ronald is very likeable and personable; he couldn't host a late night comedy show but he would be the perfect guy to host a calm-you-down-after-work radio show for the drive home. I'd love to pull up to that driveway in Texas in my silver 1985 Fiero SE, his red 1985 Fiero SE sitting in the driveway already, pull out a couple of lawn chairs, crack open a couple of beers and just shoot the shit.
I went from not caring about Fieros to: "Show me exactly how every rusty screw head comes back to life!"
I really felt your headliner moment of pain. All of us who have built a car have done this. Somewhere. With something.
I was a teenager when these things hit and I wanted one so bad. Looking back I don't know why. I've enjoyed watching this rebuild. Brings me back to a simpler time. Loved the 80's.
That's a big f***ing thumbs up from me, dawg.
Ronald Finger presents: “Reasons to hire a professional body guy: a 10 part series.”
You miss the whole point. The young guy wants to do it all by himself. And proudly say « I did it ! ».
@@marcryvon yup. Sometimes it's all about the process an learning it than about having a finished car. I mean if you want to watch a guy hire bunch of people to fix his cars, there's Hoovie, Tavarish etc.
If you ever want to *be* a "professional body guy", you have to start somewhere, and learning how to fix your mistakes is a good place.

When I make a comment on a video, I usually read the first several to see if I am just repeating what other viewers are saying. In this case, I am agreeing with several other commenters when I say that this has been one of the most entertaining series that I've watched! The sync for "It'll still look great" was a nice touch. And the headliner scream got me, just like the one from earlier, when pain (ting) the hood.
I can remember my Dad bringing a Fiero home when they came out. To this day it was the biggest POS he ever bought he says. It was a neat idea of a vehicle but overheated and just had issues I think under warranty he got a new engine and it still overheated. new trans under warranty and a bunch of stuff. I remember my cousin bought a used one in the early 90's and yup it was a nonstop issue vehicle and my father said "told you so". Good luck!
I really love how you've shown the whole gritty, painful process of learning how to paint. I learned last year I had all of the same issues you've had. So frustrating yet so rewarding. I'm still learning and its SO fun to do, except for the sanding... Loving this series, thank you so much for sharing :)
33:58 ... it's moments like these that can break a man's will forever..
I've had similar things happen like that. You buy something BRAND NEW and when you install it you slip the screwdriver and scratch it or puncture it!!!! Extremely aggravating!
Pain
Oh moments as those have caused me to flip and cause more damage. I've gotten older now though and try to just take a deep breath and back away asap 😂.
@@UberStarFkr I try my best to do that when things go wrong.
Ronnie, your "god DAMMIT" when the screw shears off in the headliner is a perfect encapsulation of a man raging at the uncaring nature of the universe. I honestly hope it finds its way onto the soundboard of gamers, everyone. (360 no-scoped. hits button on sampler: "god DAMMIT")
My favorite moments are when you lose your shit. As someone else who has done a fair share of projects on my car, it’s incredibly relatable and makes me feel better about when it happens. You definitely learn when you need to just walk away from something for a bit.
Yo shout outs to Home girl she out here helping with alot of the Ferrio
The shape of the car is pretty timeless but you're right, that interior screams 1980s.
when you poked that hole in the headliner, while installing the passenger visor. i really felt for you. been there done that. just remember like in life nothings perfect. you are doing a fantastic job!

Your exploits with this project are eerily reminiscent of MANY of my own. One step forward, two steps back. The difference is that I possess none of the patience that you have. You deserve a HUGE round of applause. And FYI: I owned a very early 84 Fiero (special ordered in September 1983, two days after the public on sale date).

Not only have your mechanical skills improved over time, so has your story telling and writing.
Your mosquito thought “look at all that glorious red 🩸”
If you're heartbroken about the headliner, you can take a little scrap from what you trimmed away and secure it to the hole with either bonding powder or fabric adhesive. Because you have pieces of the exact material, you should be able to make the repair almost completely invisible.
I really felt your pain with the headliner, and that extra screw hole!
You seriously need a TV show your the most in depth entertaining person to watch
When you do complete the car you should put together one of those "Restoring my Fiero in 10 minutes" videos that you see around, for some reason those seem do to really well on KZhead
I would rather he didn't, this has been too much of a journey to condense into 10 minutes
@@sammarley347 it's more about getting new eyes on his series, people can watch the whole series if they like what they see
The level of work ethic and dedication that you have is absurd!
In my high school days, I bought an '84 Fiero from a guy who thought that gluing FUR on all the interior pieces was cool. I worked at a grocery store at the time, and with every check, I called up a guy at the Fiero store to order a different interior replacement piece. I don't remember the name of the guy at the Fiero store that I spoke to, but he took the time to help that poor teenager every couple of weeks. I've always wanted to say thanks. While watching this series, I couldn't believe it when you mentioned them.......awesome.
In 1985, when this Fiero was made, a restored '57 Chevy would have been 28 years old and looked like it had more business in a museum than on the road. This Fiero is 35 years old... I don't know what to do with that.
I love how you include all the mistakes that you make along the way. Any lesser man would have been too discouraged and given up ages ago…
In case y'all were wondering what it said at 17:25, it says media offline then has a blip of Ronald opening a box of some sort before the bed then appears. Weird right!
This is my favourite resto on KZhead by far. The time, effort, learning of skills, the ups and downs - it’s affected us all when working on cars and thus is so relatable and true. You have done a fantastic job so far and it really is a credit to you. The Fiero is always one of my favourite US cars - I live in the UK now but when I lived in South Carolina as a kid, a friend of the family had a brand new 1987 Fiero V6 in white. I was obsessed with that and the Grand Am of the time. Enjoying the progress and the wait is only making the outcome even more exciting! The aching arm at middle school had me in stitches 🤣 and I reckon its the rear view mirror AND floormats
