I love how in the beginning Peter is confused and then the next scene he’s jumps from building to building it. Remind me from the 2002 film. when Peter learned he can climb walls. But then later on everything is not so great with Peter he turns into an actual human spider freak

How sick would it be if there was a sequel where Spider Man’s typical villains (Doc Ock, Harry Osborn, etc.) are actually the “good guys” trying to take down the monster that Peter has become
Then in the ending, when the monster dies they find out it was Peter and they mourn over his corpse which is returning to peters true body

I can imagine they all have their gear and stuff because they want to do their part to stop the Spider. Goblin’s glider to stay out of reach and do damage long range and avoid webs, Dock Ock’s arms so that he can keep a safe distance from the Spider’s grip while being by able to restrain and do some damage to Spider and its webs, Rhino to just overpower him, etc.

What makes this even more depressing is that Peter ran into his room so that nobody would get harmed by him, and cause it was the only safe place he could think of, he’s still a kid after all, which means he did know that with great power came great responsibility, and because he was so afraid of the power, he decided to be responsible with it and lock himself away so no one would get harmed, and he tried to warn Uncle Ben to not go to him, but sadly, he didn’t listen

As a fan of Spider-Man who's always wanted a horror project of the character this is amazing and I think Chandler Riggs is a great choice for Peter Parker, I only wish it was a full length movie!

Damn, Peter ripping off that mugger's skin with his adhesive touch was something straight out of the 'Grim Hunt' arc, in the best way possible. Not to mention that using Man-Spider as a basis is very simple yet also heartbreaking, definitely well done!

So this is pretty much a "what if the radioactive spider turned Peter Parker into a spider monstrosity instead of just gaining spider powers". Very cool.

@@rylockx1331 Not really the marvel ruins story. in that one peter doesn't mutate he kinda just gets destroyed with radiation making him look similar to deadpool. The one he's talking about is an issue of Edge of Spiderverse where Patton Parnel gets bit and basically turns into what is seen in this short film. Except his version of Uncle Ben, Uncle Ted was abusive so kinda deserved to be murdered. and then another victim of his I believe was his version of Mary Jane, Sara Jane. Then Morlun killed this character before the events of the spiderverse comics with the whole spider totem story line.
This is probably the best Spider-Man fan film I have ever seen! Very unique and different. Congratulations, you have a new subscriber!
The funny thing is this actually happened in the comics. He did become a spider monster at one point but they were able to reverse it.
I can see that Pete's transformation is an homage to Cronenberg's The Fly, especially the teeth sequence. Bravo!!

I've said it before, I'll say it again, symbiotes are a significantly better source of power than radioactive spiders
I like the idea of Venom bonding with this version of Peter and, and instead of rejecting it because the idea of an alien symbiote freaks him out, he allows it to fully integrate so he can finally have some kind of other person he communicate with without being compelled to kill and consume them. It’d be a true symbiotic relationship. Venom getting what it needs to survive from Peter’s body and Peter getting a second influence in his mind that could help him suppress the overwhelming cannibalistic influences.
That's interesting because wouldn't the symbiote be able to heal him and turn him back to a normal looking human but still keep the spider powers??
It was kinda sad to watch Peter be excited about his powers at first, knowing that he won’t get to become the spider-man we all know and love

This version is super heartbreaking when you consider that, other than the extent of his transformation, this is still basically OUR peter parker. Unlike patton parnell, he is a good person. A loving caring boy who wanted nothing more than to keep his loved ones safe from himself. He was terrified and slowly turning into a horrific genetic abomination as his body ripped itself apart and reformed on a cellular level. His teeth were coming out so easy because his saliva and vomit were literally digesting his esophagus and mouth, his stomach acid becoming more potent and neurotoxic while his mouth and thoat cant keep up, causing his gums to literally desolve into a mushy paste that can barely hold its shape. It wouldve taken way more time to change his mouth tissue than it would have for his cells to get the message to produce a more potent formula of stomach acid. His rib bones reformed around quickly forming muscle tissue and slowly pierced through his abdomen. After all spiders have exoskeletons so his bones were splitting apart and being pushed to the surface of his body the way your body rejects a splinter over time, with the process compressing his organs. every joint in his body was slowly dislocated and hyperextended, every tendon and ligament torn to reform into what the foreign DNA told it to without his body having the necessary processes to safely do that. And even spider-people can't heal that kind of injury very fast, so Every joint in his body must've been in agony. His teeth would've grown so rapidly it would've torn what was left of his jaw structure apart, permanently removing his ability to speak as his newfound reflexes combined with his new voracious predatory instinct forced him to pin down and digest his uncle while he was still consious and likely begging for his life, with Peter still consious enough to understand whats happening, but not in the driver's seat anymore. Like how in The Last of us games you can sometimes see Runners sobbing and desperately apologizing to the corpse of a family member they've killed and began eating, because they were unable to stop themselves, while they continue to devour their corpse.

Like I said… I know Peters is a hero that suffers the most in the comic, but damn wouldn’t it be cool to see these Comics Characters in a Horror Movie Genre ?

Not what I was expecting but loved it! As a huge Carl Grimes and Chandler Riggs fan this was really cool. This has great potential to be a real and at least 2 hour long movie, would watch in theaters. Telling my friends about this awesome short film! :)
Dude this is actually sick, the production quality is amazing and the plot is incredible. I've never seen brightburn but I know the concept and it gave those vibes except Peter is as kind as he is in the comics but he just mutates into man-spider instead of becoming Spider-Man typically. I'd would give anything for this to be a full on movie, rather than being a short film

Just when it was getting better and better, it ends. That was an awesome reinterpretation of the character Ala Brightburn.
I like how they made it look like a usual origin story for Peter. He gets the powers and realizes what he can do, but from there it all spirals downwards.

That's one way to put a horrifying taste of realism into fantasising over being bitten by a radioactive spider. Jeeeezus. Very well done. Didn't expect it to be quite so dark. Cool to see Chandler in a different role to Carl too - always found that character a bit annoying. But this shows Chandler has range, and I'd be impressed with him as a regular Spider-Man.
Should’ve been more realistic and had Peter just die of cancer after the radiation entered his bloodstream. But that’d be lame 👎

Carl looks great as Peter Parker. I didn't even expect it to end so darkly. In my head it looked like this: Peter gains powers, makes a suit and the authors make a dark atmosphere with murders or different mutations of villains. I'd like to see that version, but the one we've seen now looks very dark and scary! Great job! Marvel has a lot to learn if they are planning something like this with an R rating.

In the comics there was an alternate Spider-Man very similar to this one called Patton Parnel. He’s a sociopath raised by an abusive uncle. This version is even more tragic because this Peter seems like a nice kid raised by a loving aunt and uncle…and he still ended up killing them. Poor Peter. He can never catch a break.
Well atleast in the main reality Peter became a well known superhero who has saved countless lives this one sadly didn't get to that

Funnily enough, one of the episodes of What If WAS supposed to feature a story similar to this. The spider-bite that turned Peter into Spider-Man turned him into a spider creature instead. Also, there's a segment from Edge of the Spider-Verse that also has a very similar premise to this. I wouldn't be surprised if this fan film is inspired by that.

I actually really like the concept of Peter having spider like drawbacks. Like give him multiple eyes, fucked up teeth, weird spider skin an an appetite for only insects. That would be a really cool multiverse concept. A Peter that can’t be Peter anymore because of his powers. On one hand it’s the best thing that ever happened to him on the other it cost him his place in human society.

Did you read marvel ruins? This is more based off of the man spider storyline in the comics. It was also in the 90s cartoon. (Although both were much more kid friendly)
I always wanted a Man-Spider movie, and this is exactly how I wanted it to be. Seeing Spider-Man turn into an actual spider creature in the 90's cartoon always creeped me out, so seeing that concept in a gritty horror take where Peter didn't even get a chance to become Spider-Man at all just makes it even better.

there is actually a spider man that looks more like a spider and it's creep af. Also Superior Spider-Man is pretty much evil version of him and his costume looks better than the original imo.
