Here, I show you how I design a RC cartoon Viggen for 3d printing using Shapr3d

It's really cool to watch you work. I'm glad you started making the planes. I think your designs are the most fun you can have with your 3D printer and your RC gear!

It’s been flying for a few weeks. Look at my Shmiggen videos 👍🏻

Awesome video. Its so inspiring. This will keep me busy for a while😅 I am working in blender on a leonardo m346 trainer jet in depron. But i might switch to 3d printed. But i have more ideas then time😂😂😂

Thanks it will help a lot. Doesn't seem as hard as I thought. You kinda just eyeball everything is there anything I should know how how to design? And could you share your servo and motor models? I'm going to use a x-fly 64mm. Thanks so much for the help

Download the servo drawings from Amazon and just trace over the drawings. Making the servo is super easy and a good practice session before you start actually designing.

Love watching this and will design my own I think. Curious, does the software you use have a shell function and if so why do you prefer to loft many sketches over a shell. Helps understanding to learn myself . Thanks again

Thanks!! Fusion 360 has a wonderful shell/form function where you can make more complex bodies. Everyone has a preference and I like making solid bodies and subtracting from them

I Think I decided on the F-106 for my school project and it has elevons i think would i just set that up in my transmitter? and tips on designing it?

Fantastic plane. I’ll definitely end up making one some day. As for tips. Not sure where to start. It’s a great project because you can find the CG easily as the wings are triangles. Put the fan almost to the rear of the fuselage to get the balance right

You make it look so darn easy, that's the Oldman in me. What software are you using ? Tired of failing with foam , might try doing this with 5 view pdf file , tried letting software conversion to dxf, total failure . So I shall have to learn a new skill . Well I use to do drafting with paper and pencils...yea I'm that old.

@@hotlapkyle thanks , still have the problem of getting it into cad , if I read their page right . All I have to work with is a scale pdf. Must be a curse that follows this build . Thanks any how .

Are you paying for a Shap3r subscription or is the basic version good enough? It looks like you can't create scale drawings from the basic version. Thay may be a deal breaker.
@airplanyguy6816 күн бұрын
Yes I’m paying. Free version just lets you try the modeling and see if it’s a good fit. You’ll need the full version to export detail

And could you post your presets?

You can always undo the cut and change the position where you want it. What printer are you running? You got a Bambu?
