Lyrics:
I cannot take this anymore
Saying everything I've said before
All these words they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Less I hear, the less you say
You'll find that out anyway
Just like before
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
I'm about to break
I find the answers aren't so clear
Wish I could find a way to disappear
All these thoughts they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Nothing seems to go away
Over and over again
Just like before
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
I'm about to break
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to
Break!
Shut up when I'm talking to you!
Shut up!
Shut up!
Shut up!
Shut up when I'm talking to you!
Shut up!
Shut up!
Shut up!
Shut up!
I'm about to break!
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
I'm about to break
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to
Break!

The aesthetic of 1999-2003 was so strong and peculiar. Linkin Park, Korn, Fight Club, The Matrix. Those years looked and felt like a truly unique moment in time.
This song or one of LP's songs should've been in The Matrix, just sayin 🤷🏻♂️
Can we go back..... I miss those times.... my kids don't understand lol
I was born in 1999 but i remember growin listening to LP, KoRn, SOAD, Disturbed, etc and honestly, i miss all of it.
The aesthetic in this video was inspired by The Matrix. They mention it in one of their behind the scenes videos. The green in The Matrix (and thus this video) is a reference to old CRT monitors from the 70's and 80's to differentiate when they are in the real world vs the Matrix. Colorful spiky hair and the Matrix were both inspired by anime.
DITTO DAT SENTIMENT! 🤘🏾😎🤙🏾 but now sci-fi fiction novel drama à la 'The Matrix' & George Orwell's novel'1984' is becoming a reality in a chaotic covid world gone completely CRAZY MADLY INSANE! Maybe we need to ALL become Japanese anime superhero characters & Shaolin Monks to save this world from itself! 🙏🏾🌍🌎🌏🙏🏾

After 3 years of psychology classes, and going back and listening to songs from Linkin Park, now I get it. Rest peacefully Chester, and do know this... you were the voice of the voiceless. Peace
That last sentence brought tears to my eyes. A beautiful tribute.
Thank you... Someone had asked me, "What do you mean by that bro?", and this was my response: Basically, I mean that before, I just thought LP was some really cool music. However, after studying psychology, the disorders, the many troubled paths that many people have to go through... going back and listening to many of the words of their songs, and hearing some of the backstories on Chester, now I understand the pain and anguish in his voice. To me, that pain is what made his voice stand out to me. Abuse, drug and alcohol addiction, vulnerability, and just not feeling like you belong; really does take a toll after a while. For many people, they're afraid to come out into the light, and put themselves out there, leaving them without a voice. Chester gave those people a voice, and that's all I meant... Peace
3 years of psychology classes and the simplistic lyrics from Bennington move you?
+heybigskoal Seriously bro get the fuck outta here.
Sometimes the simplest of lyrics can be the most powerful, and cut through all the bull-s#!t and get right to the base of the problem. BigSkoal, I never actually said they moved me, what I said, was that I never looked at his lyrics from a patient/psychologist's point of view; but now I know what I'm looking at. Message to Gloria: remember that not everyone sees things the same. Chill, everyone is entitled to their opinion... Peace

Mike Shinoda said that this video was bad, but I love this. It's raw as hell. I love that 2000s raw shit.
Dante LAN-I-ER I'm sure that it was CHESTER who hated this song, mainly because he gained infamy and mockery due to the "Shut up" part. While Mike probably thought it's so bad because it's really cringey. FYI, director Gregory Dark was a porn director.
Dave the Assassin I don't know if you were trying to correct me or not, but I was literally repeating what he said on the Linkin Park reacts to Teens React to Linkin Park video. I also know he was a porn director.
The music video is soo bad that it's actually good. XD I have a lot of fun looking at the details and Chester's and Mike's terrible movement in this music video.
Yeah. In one interview Mike said, that those up and down movements weren't even in choreography. They just happened to do them. xD And while I cry every f*cking time during Leave out all the Rest when I'm watching this I'm laughing, cuz seeing Mike and Chester and rest of the band in their edgy form is just.... perfect. I was 15 when Hybrid Theory came out and I'll never forget when me and my lil bro 1st listened to it. We were literally blown away. Everyday after school we listened to it nonstop from side A to B(this was on casette tape) while making sure our mom doesn't caught us because she hates loud music.(LOL) They were like our teenage heroes especially Chester. I'd try to imitate his screams and singing almost every time. I was full of energy during those times and those guys were one of the main reasons behind it. Fast forward 17 years later, I''m 32 now. My wife broke the news to me that Chester had just died of a suspected suicide. My initial reaction was like, "nah don't believe that bullshit they do that all the time those idiots who post fake news. I'ts definitely a hoax!, I yelled." But while saying that, I was nervous at the same time. I clicked google,searched...still not convinced...website. clicked...just one more...then came Mike's tweet.. and boom! It hit me like a truck. Speechless for an hour. One of my childhood heroes just died. My wife looked at me and said, "I know..it's ok to cry and let it go I know how you loved the band and Chester in particular." Just then, i didn't realize that tears came rolling down from my face. But after going through a marathon of all their albums, I just looked at all the positive points and was thankful that I have lived at the same time and era as him. As I'm writing this now, I have finally let reality sink in and accept the fact that one of my idols is gone. You will be forever remembered Chester! Thank you for enlightening and energizing my life thru your music and lyrics. Hope this is not the end of your journey. As we all know, it all literally started with "One Step Closer" and now it tragically ends with "One More Light". But all is not lost coz' even though you may be gone but memories of you and your legacy will never fade. Rock on forever!
You are amazing in the way you delivered those words.
pol chavez your story is great. Thank u
pol chavez You and I are the same age. 16 was just about the perfect age to discover this band (I was a year behind). I remember sitting in the car on a family trip to go camping and me and my cousin were sitting in the back seat and we each had a discman. We had two CDs to listen to, Hybrid Theory and Silver Side Up by Nickelback. We would listen to each CD and then switch. I remember liking Nickelback fine at the time, but I always wanted Hybrid Theory back whenever we would switch. Guess which band I still listen to today.
Pretty much the same story but I got the text sitting in a hospital while listening to Heavy. Part of me knew when I saw the video of him dedicating One More light to Chris Cornell it would be a matter of time....but I always pushed that out of my mind. I cried and cried when listening to their songs after hearing he died....then the official letter to Chester from Lp was posted...and I dont know why but it gave me peace. I can watch and listen without full on sobbing. I just turned my son on to LP. He is in a feeding clinic at a childrens hospital for 8 weeks his reward when we finished was going to be see the ONE MORE LIGHT tour....and to tell him we cant and he doesnt quite understand (he is 8) is hard too. I ordered him a shirt...it helps but its not the same. And then Chris Cornells daughter sings Hallelujah with One Republic....I lost it again. But at least I can listen again and not be totally heartbroken. What they said is true....the demons were always part of the package and they finally won. There is no way there is not a spot in heaven for him. And I only hope since I couldnt meet him here I will when its my time meet him there. Rip Chester
At least his struggle is over and yes he will definitely get a spot in heaven. Same sentiments here, man. It's just so hard to move on from it. Heard there will be a tribute concert that's happening don't know when. Why not take your son there. He may not understand it now but at least it will be the closest thing to Chester. Peace bro
This song never gets old I can hear it every single day.
What a time to be alive for the birth of NuMetal….I remember buying this cd from The Warehouse and it made my life better…thank you LP and Hybrid Theory 🖤🔥
When im sad or depressed I don't just visit any normal park, I visit Linkin Park.
@Flaming Dumpsterfire Heathcliff , well I mean...maybe it was a little cringe-worthy. It probably wouldn't have been if he hadn't did that dramatic, long pause in the middle. But there is an actual park in St. Monica, California called that - Lincoln Park. In fact that's where the band got their name from; they just changed the spelling.
Wow, you guys are still dumbasses after Chesters Death.. Why not learn from it? @Joseph, if you are really feeling sad or depressed, talk to someone. If your comment is just for the sakes, that would be fine too..
I feel like this comment would have made Cheaters day. 💜 I know it made mine and I appreciate you for it. Long live the best park, Linkin Park.
@@captainsin7126 thank you man!!
@@captainsin7126 I think you mean Chester not Cheater
