STAR TREK: THE VIDEO GAME -- Shatner vs. Gorn Trailer

2013 ж. 28 Нау.

Reprise of legendary 1967 TV battle between Shatner's Captain Kirk and lizard-like alien Gorn puts spotlight on the upcoming release of STAR TREK: THE VIDEO GAME.
In the nearly five decades since the U.S.S. Enterprise first ventured into space, her crew has encountered untold foes, but few enemies have been quite as memorable as the Gorn.
The savage, lizard-like race has been seen only fleetingly on screen, most memorably in the TV series' first-season episode "Arena" -- but STAR TREK® The Video Game is about to change that.

Also TNG A Final Unity was one of the most immersive and in depth stories in a video game that I had seen up to that point. But those aside how do you forget Klingon Academy. IMO the best trek game ever made. Really made you feel like you commanded a klingon warship and tied in beautifully to the story of Star Trek VI that said, SW games do have a better track record. • Once upon a time, in a retirement home far, far away, there were two extraordinary residents named Kirk and the Gorn. Kirk, a legendary Starfleet captain known for his daring adventures, and the Gorn, a reptilian alien species encountered by Kirk during his spacefaring days, had found themselves in a rather unexpected situation - they were now roommates in their golden years. At first, Kirk and the Gorn were skeptical of each other. After all, their encounters in the past had been less than friendly. But as they spent more time together, they discovered a shared sense of humor and a mutual respect for their respective histories. Every day, the duo would gather in the common room, regaling their fellow retirees with stories of their intergalactic escapades. Kirk would captivate the audience with tales of exploring new planets, battling Klingons, and outsmarting alien adversaries. The Gorn, on the other hand, would recount his own perspective of those encounters, shedding light on the complexities of their previous conflicts. Their stories would often spark lively debates among the residents, turning the retirement home into a hub of excitement and imagination. It was as if the residents were transported to distant galaxies, experiencing the thrill of space exploration from the comfort of their armchairs. As time went on, Kirk and the Gorn formed an unlikely friendship. They shared meals together, engaged in friendly competitions, and even organized movie nights where they would watch classic science fiction films. They discovered that despite their past differences, they had more in common than they could have ever imagined. Their presence in the retirement home brought joy and inspiration to the other residents. KIRK OUT!

  • It's awesome how TOS Kirk's battle with the Gorn was a lesson in pacifism while Star Trek: The Video Game's battle with the Gorn is just a pew-pew phaser rifle battle.

    • That's because the original battle with the Gorn commander and Kirk was being controlled by the Metrones, with no referees to limit the combat all bets are off as far as pacifism and fair play.

  • I love the idea of a game about fighting the Gorn because in the original episode, the Gorn were depicted as only defending their territory from what they saw as an attempt to take over their space. The point of the episode was that the Gorn weren't big lizard monsters and what do we do? Make a game where they were big lizard monsters.

    • Then there is Strange New Worlds. I start out loving it, start to get disillusioned, go back to liking it, then they reprise the Gorns at the end of Season 1. It was either a blatant rip-off of 'Aliens', or an homage to 'Aliens'. (Kinda felt like a rip-off, but I am on the favorable side of riding that fence with ST:SNW) any way I thought that was going to be 'left behind' but they reintroduced them in the 2nd season cliffhanger. (Now they have the Gorn as Dangerous space venturing Aliens- IDK if I buy it?) Anyway- I thought this ad was current (with Paramount trying to push the Gorn in SNW), I did not remember this game 10 Years ago.

    @TheBermudaMan@TheBermudaMan7 жыл бұрын
    • Well it wouldnt really work since [spoiler] Kirk died in the original timeline. The reason spock(prime) was able to appear is because he was still alive last we saw him. So he was able to have a few more adventures in his past. Abrams wanted shatner in the movie as well, but he admitted that there was no way to fit him in the movie without shoehorning him in. It sucks.

  • I have to say ot is impressive that Star Trek showrunners and game developers have taken the hokiest 60's costumed alien species and transformed it into a terrifying threat for the Federation. It demonstrates that sometimes a creature-concept exceeds its execution (and that we really do love lizard people). Nver saw this ad. Thanks for posting it.
