Thank you for this beautiful and helpful video!!!👏👏👏
Wonderful video! If you add voice-overs I think you might reach more people. This happened when I added voice-overs to videos on my Read with ASL KZhead channel. You're doing great work!
your signing skills are awesome!!!!!
Can you do it with sound for the visually impaired
Thank you so much! All very interesting
I'm not used to watching left handed signing! (or the video might be flipped?) It is nice practice
thank you so much
Thank you for this video. My daughter is 5 now and was born deaf in her right ear which has effected her ability to say some speech sounds. I am trying to understand how we can support her now with reading. Any advice? I am about done with the reading 1000 books before kindergarten program with my daughter who is deaf in the right ear. I did this program with my other typical hearing daughter and I believe it has helped her read.
The no audio threw me off
I have a question. Thanks for the teaching. How can a deaf child of 6 years that has not communicated with signs before be taught how to communicate?
Idk how can you tell me
He/she needs to be in classroom environment with other Deaf/HH children and adults who sign. Parents and family need to begin signing at home immediately. At age 6 this Deaf child has already missed critical language and cognitive needs. Find a local Deaf community agency and seek supports for hearing parents of Deaf children and get a Deaf mentor, someone who can teach you how to communicate and incorporate sign language into your life. Please do not delay.
Hi, we adopted a 7yr old deaf girl who had no language. We’ve been working very hard to teach her sign language and how to read. You can see some videos on our channel!
How do word processors learn to read? Im wondering if there's a way do the same with the human processor, while learning sign language at the same time?
Would sign languages ever need their own written system? I feel like forcing signing kids to read English through English text is an extreme version of making Japanese kids read Japanese through English texts. Adds translation onto the challenges.
Why do some deaf people hope their unborn children wont be able to hear either?
It’s similar to how many deaf kids never really connect with their family/parents because of the language barrier, I’ve heard deaf parents say they have the same fear if their child is hearing
