CHATEAU HOPPING AND ANTIQUING!
The Lalanders are invited to a very exciting house party at the Chateau de Brives near Cognac. It's a meeting of chatelaines and I'm happy to be reunited with many familiar faces. We're welcomed into one of the most spectacularly decorated homes I've ever been to, and treated to delicious food, wine...and cognac! Whilst there, we go antiquing at a huge Bordeaux Antiques Fair, and I come back with several treasures for Lalande...

I love Philip's hair. It looks so healthy and it looks like he has a lot of hair! 😍
I do like it long a bit more.
I’d actually be interested in seeing him with a regular haircut. As well as Selmar.
Same, honestly it looks great.
I agree with you Phillip's hair looks great!
When people have sparse hair on the top of the head wearing it long accentuates the sparseness. Same thing happens when people use gel on top. Keep it short and keep it free of products.
Shaun’s your man for retinning
Absolutely., Stephanie ASK Michael P, for Shauns details!!!!
Is it just me or would the missing tower be an ideal archaeological dig site? I can just imagine a bunch of archaeology students getting to grips with the site and making discoveries, as for the dry moat...
What about asking the Time Team?
@@jennymay4720 they only do 3 day digs, think it needs abit linger of an investigation than that , might just be a problem with travelling as well at the moment !
Yes - Chateau de Rosieres is doing that (check out their Chronicles of Rosieres on YT) - such a nice opportunity for students.
I bet Time Team could do the initial assessment and give Stephanie a plan for going forward. Contact Tim Taylor!
@@karenashworth5743 With Geofizz they can find the foundations.
Phillip, your hair looks wonderful. Again compliments to Annalise.
Did you mean The Raj??
@@version_23 you need serious help
I don’t know what it is about you vlog (I do really) but out of all the vlogs I watch yours goes so fast and I want to keep watching more. Your editing, what you are filming, the people it’s all magical. It really is interesting and wonderful.
Epic 70s soundtrack while driving 👌
Annalise was right. The haircut made Philip look luscious and rejuvinated.
So nice seeing Johnny D. again! Stephanie is really blessed with a beautiful group of friends. Awesome antique fair!
Thank goodness for Marie’s van. The settee is lovely!!
We need more Kat!!!
A fun outing - LOVE these trips to other chateaus. A video compilation at some point would be great advertising material for folks trying to select a chateau vacation or wedding venue. The toile bed set is magnifique! Welcome back Kat!
Stephanie is one of a kind , such a precious soul!
I thought Philip was looking at the beautiful painting on the wall, but it turned out he was looking at the mangy squirrel below it 😂 I have to say that pink sofa is gorgeous!!
Me too.. 💁🏼♂️😅🙈
Just to be seeing friends in the same room, dining together, chattering over lunches.... Is the world becoming normal?💜💚💙💕
Here in Maine we are almost there!! No more masks and two thirds of population fully vaccinated!! Just in time for Summer!!!
And I loved the laughter...
That floor and stairs are amazing
Absolutely love the furniture!Marie ,your van has an incredible amount of room! The chateau was beautiful and eclectic. The friends were lovely and the food looked spectacular!Thank you for letting us live vicariously through the entertaining vlog.Thank you Stephanie!
Love the music you have added - it’s so road-trip-happy😍
It good to see Erin and JB
Love seeing the gathering of familiar faces. Thank you for taking us along.💐
Laughing at the gate conundrum: the answer to Marie's two hour time lag, perhaps? Plus she'd need to check out the distracting wildflowers....
I strongly recommend you have a full archaeological survey, to ascertain the positions of the curtain walls and towers; also to locate the missing gatehouse and possibly the site of the drawbridge. That is likely to be at the inner end of the present bridge, which is presumably on the site of the ancient one. Geophysical surveys, including ground-penetrating radar, should locate the missing walls and, if it has not been destroyed, the site of the drawbridge pit. Please also have the early roofs of the chateau dated by dendrochronology - I suspect the older part belongs to the second half of the 15th century, rather than the 16th. Machicolated towers like yours are commonly 15th century. Your vlog is by far the best in the chateau world. Warwick Rodwell, Norfolk
Yes, especially because Stephanie seems so keen on one day restoring them, a sentiment I can't help but agree. Imagine Chateau de Lalande as a full compound with enclosing protective towers, walls & moat system with a drawbridge! More than anyone could have envisioned on first seeing the Chateau 15 years while house hunting, or even a year ago!
Won't that be incredibly expensive when there's so many areas that need renovated, insulated repaired etc?
That would be beneficial even if its just for knowledge sake and a correct sketch could be done just for a historical book of past and present.
@@barbibutton9619 yes of course expensive and far in the future after the rest of the Chateau has been restored, insulated, and decorated maybe season 12 of Chateau Diaries! Don't forget the potential mill restoration as well! In the meantime the gardens could be designed around this future to compliment eventual restorations and avoid tearing up installed garden. It will depend on our own and future viewers interests being maintained over the years, but each tower could accommodate maybe 2 apartments or more single rooms. The Chateau has the potential of becoming a significant tourist destination & therefore economic draw to LaLande's corner of rural France. What are we if not dreamers and Stephanie is remarkable at putting reality to dreams.
Philip your hair looks great! You have beautiful hair shorter as it is. Be confident & proud!!!👍🏽😉
As I enjoy the cold 🥶 Down Under you are all a beam of sunshine 🌞 Thankyou lovelies ❤️🦘❤️🦘❤️🥰🙏💋
I usually watch all the vlogs by the incredibly wonderful and awesome Stephanie on my Smart TV, so this is the first time that I've watched online and had the opportunity post a comment. These vlogs have been part of my everyday viewing ever since Escape To The Chateau DIY was available on the streaming app Peacock here in USA. Then to my big surprise, I discovered all the vlogs that have been posted on youtube and have been a loyal fan ever since. Looking back, I have no idea what I would be watching today if it weren't for the vlogs that Stephanie and her Lalande friends have created and posted. Could this is all be a result of Divine Intervention for those of us who have been separated from family during the lockdown in the past year, and regularly programed TV is full of repeats and uninteresting productions? I'm looking forward to future vlogs that give us all a glimpse of those beautiful villages and towns in France. So it's viva la France to Stephanie Jarvis and her friends, and BIG thanks and cyber hugs from America. Long live the queen of youtube!
Wonderfulness thanks for taking me with you! Cheers all
Looks like your new boudoir may be coming together, Stephanie. Your hostess is lovely as is their gorgeous chateau. This has been a fabulous get away.
Agree , as all the beautiful people together made this a very special occasion..
It’s so lovely to see people getting on so well from château and all that different programs really is nice I hope you had a lovely time
Marie wears 30 so well. She truly becomes more and more beautiful every single day. Philip's hair looks stunning. It brightens his face so much and is perfect for summer weather.
When Philip first came to Lalande, he had his hair about that length. It looks GREAT shorter!
No time to get bored with your vlogs Stephanie! You have such a good eye ~ the antique toile de Jouey bed set/canopy is stunning, as is the pink upholstered sofa. They are perfect scale for a boudoir.
Antique shopping!! This is going to be a good video :)
Great hair cut Annalise:) so wonderful to see kat back and familiar faces at lalonde. When is Isabelle and Percy due back? Miss them so much love Isabelle’s wicked sense of humour xxx🇨🇦😘💗
I could happily watch you at the antique and thrift shops every week! So jealous 😁
Phillip, hair always grows back. It’s fun to try new looks. You never know you come come to like it but if you don’t really like it, your bun is always fantastic.
I actually really like your new hair Philip!!

Lovely antique show, congrats on that Corona & bedding, lovely purchases! That departing dinner looked amazing. That squirrel mold, hysterical. A bientot 🥳
I agree! I had to rerun that part twice to get a good look at it. What a treasure for the chateau! I see a second red toile room coming soon!
What an amazing episode !!! So glad to see you all together at gorgeous Chateau de Brives ! The antiques fair finds were absolutely gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️👌 loved the squirrel 🐿🤣❤️
Having started watching the vlogs last summer, I remember when Kat, Philip, Davy, Mandy and others were brand new to the camera - and had the deer in the headlights look on their faces! So nice that they relaxed and became "regulars" over time.
Thank you Stephanie!!! I am just enjoying this video!!! Life and everything in the art world, the food, friends, the table settings!!! OMG Lovely video thank you so much for sharing!!!
Love your “driving “ music 🎵
Stephanie, the music while riding through the countryside is exciting and beautiful.
INDEED!!!!
I thought the same. Made me feel I was France
Stephanie, we are the lucky ones when you take us on tour in this beautiful Chateau. It takes love and a fortune to acquire and furnish this gem. It also shows that you and your friends/associates paid good attention in history and art history classes!!
It was my favorite of any Chateau I have ever seen...amazing.
Marie’s new car is a boon for laLande! What wonderful purchases.
The stag would look fantastic at the wall edge for the lost tower. A stag's leap across the dry moat maybe.
Wow, wow, the chateau is fabulous. Food so yummy looking. Love the flea market. Philip's nose got certainly burnt from the sun. Blessings.
That bed crown! I want one so bad.
Ah you’ve got my favourite chateau owners , all together !
I am loving the hipster retro music during journey! How funny the “breaking into” the chateau grounds! Hilarious. And oooh la la, that market!! Thank goodness it’s not near me. I would be completely broke.

It’s early in the morning 🥱, I got my coffee ☕️ made myself some toast 🍞 stepped back into bed 🛏 and I am ready to got to.... La Lande!!! 💖🥳🤩 The perfect 👌🏽 start of the day!
I love the green and white of Marie’s dress as it looks so good on her and then she revealed a pretty green stone ring!
Love the pink sofa and bed set! Thank goodness for the new car to haul it back to La Lande.
I am 47 years old and I love caramel apples. I think Phillip and I could be excellent friends as I adore cute animals, table wear, and puns! 😁
i second that emotion ;-) 🦩🦔
I can’t wait to see your new things in their new home. Great finds! So happy for you.
Philip has had a little grooming moment, hair looking great, very healthy!
Philip has the look of a 17th century Dutch painter or English nobleman. So cool.
Oh how wonderful! Count me in for this one 😊 Happy Thursday...it’s Lalande 💕
I remember this chateau from C4. I loved all of their spectacular collections, especially the church candlesticks
They were antique dealers previously.
I think the bed set is a stunning addition to your home. It's a major room identifier. Well done for finding it and deciding on it.
The music during the car ride was perfect!!! ❤️🤣 It reminded me of the music from tv shows I watched as a child.
Yes and something in particular but I can't figure WHAT?
That sofa was gorgeous!
Marie, you look wonderful
What a sweet touch to credit your supporters! 🥰
What an elegant chateau! The owners have great sense of taste. Certainly my cup of tea 🍵. Would love to see a tour of it some day! You bought lovely antiques too!!! Greetings from Athens Greece ❣️
Annalise hair is gorgeous! Love the colors and cut! Beautiful! She rocks a headband!
It’s nice to see the chateau filling up with people now that we are at the other end of the pandemic. Wonderful ❤️

Wow, you guys found such beautiful pieces, and your rooms were gorgeous!! And thank you, Marie, for bringing the goodies home in your beautiful new car. It's the perfect shade of blue for you too. Philip, I love your locks no matter what. Just keep smiling and know that we are all jealous of those soft swirly curls of yours. I hope we get to see more of Kat and Nati soon. Could you please give those girls a proper squeeze for us. Many of us haven't been able to hug our loved ones yet, so let us enjoy the hugs from a distance. Lots of love to you all!
That was wonderful!!! Thanks so much!!! Have a blessed weekend!!!
Oh, that chateau - and that antique fair... 😍😍😍 I'm surprized, you didn't buy more antiques 😁
Enjoyed. Beautiful furniture for La Lande. You have wonderful friends with a beautiful chateau. Love to all ❤
Love how cute Stephanie speaks and is. She wants to capture every moment on film
16:19 Stephanie panting at mention of the big antique fair. 😁
The antique place was amazing. When you said you loved the gold chairs BUT won’t take them as they need too much work to make look nice, a little piece of my heart shrunk. Your younger self would have loved the adventure of fixing it up and bringing back to life. Xx
Oh boy! My favorite subject. Hope you find some great stuff. 😀😀❤️
It was wonderful to see old faces again seen on other channel. Love catch-ups on how are hey are all doing🙏❤️🤔
