    • It is illegal to live on a houseboat inside the federal park. (All of Lake Mead is Federal land) There's a hole in the boat from the recovery and it's taking on water now. If it sinks, the fines are quite handsome indeed. At last word, the park service wants it off the lake ASAP. There are a few FB groups for Lake Mead boaters following the story. The trick to living at the marina, don't draw attention to yourself.

In the middle of nowhere , no cell phones , I was pushing it. A Hawaiian gentleman in a car stopped and said he would get some gas. I hoped for the best but kept pushing. He came back and put 2 gallons in the bike I went to pay him and he said something to me in Hawaiian and I just shook my head and then he said " it is a gift from the heart". • Huge props to the guy at the back of the boat hauling the line out of the water. Those kinds of ropes get pretty heavy when they're waterlogged and you'd be surprised how quickly big dudes with lots of stamina run out of steam. Towards the tail end of my navy days at T div in pearl harbor we did pretty much all of the line handling for the big ships and subs coming in and out of the harbor and as a reward for such an exhausting day we could go back to our barracks room after muster the next morning if we weren't on duty

Hours and hours of work and thinking, more work with little success followed by even more figurin', then more and more work with some success at which point you are exhausted but the end is in view. Then more work until your goal is finally accomplished and that deep, deep down feeling of pride satisfaction contentment joy exaltation overwhelms you like nothing you've ever felt before; and you want to hang on to that feeling forever. We did it! I remember that feeling. I just felt a nostalgic wave of it pass over me and I have you to thank for it. I congratulate you all. You did it!

  • God put us on this earth to help and take care of those who need it. After seeing you all come to Craig's aid. Not knowing who he was or what you were getting into. You hopped on the plane without a second thought. My father was just like that. He was a pastor. Believed in giving the shire off his back if someone needed. I saw with my own 2 eyes. There was not a living soul that didn't like him. He beamed. People were drawn to him. He was special. I said all this to say this. I believe you gentlemen have the same kind of beckon inside of you. People say there are not anymore good men and woman in the world. HeaveyDsparks they haven't met you. Its does my heart good to see this and other KZhead.. God bless your Hearts!!!! I have one with that special beacon. My husband! My husband helped people all his life. 2 years ago he was diagnosed with cancer. He has ended up with an SP catheter. Hes not strong and agile likes he use to be. He loves the great out doors. Loves to fish and hunt. Camping. After all his surgeries. From about dying, not being able to walk for months from him getting sepsis from his kidney that went through his body that was due to this major surgery. He doesn't feel safe in the boat he has now. He's been through so much and still is going through alot. Yes he and I have had our hard times the last 2 years. Savings go fast. He's working but shouldn't. He tells me he's not handicapped and hes gonna keep going till he cant go anymore. My heart feels up with pride cause not just his regular job, he still helps people the best he can. All I ever want for him is to be happy. Alan is very strong willed. Why I said all this I have no idea. Maybe this post will find it's way to a person who need a few word to let them know they are not alone in this big world.
