Every single one of these passes would be the best pass of most players' careers. Jokic easily fills a 30 minute montage with them.

The long, corporate answer is that he's not dunking enough. The simple and true answer is just racism, though.
Most NBA fans want flashy dunks and lights out 3 point shooting, they couldn't tell you actual plays or how to attack defenses weaknesses on the fly. It's why the greats keep saying they'd rather watch Jokic than anyone else, he's a tactician out there. Also a lot of NBA fans think that emotional outbursts and trash talking are likeable qualities, Jokic gets mad at refs for bad calls but then he goes out and puts up 30pt triple doubles to let his work do the talking.

@Dragica Andrejevic I’m not really a fan of MPJ. He makes the max and he’s Cam Johnson with a severe head injury. The Nuggets will take the next step when Bruce Brown supplants MPJ as the starting 3. If they can trade MPJ for any NBA player with a pulse they should do it.

It’s all show off. Those flashy passes translate into nothing. Yes, they are technically assists but there are safer and more efficient ways to get the same number of assists. Jokic just keep risking an easy point to create a “what a pass”. It’s pathetic.

I remember videos of him as a kid playing basketball for local clubs in Vojvodina. I took notice of him when he first appeared in our national selections playing in international tournaments. There was something about him even when he was a youngster. As a person who trained basketball, I knew that he would be good. But how good, I could not imagine. When I saw him playing for the Nuggets the first year he was drafted, that was the year I started following NBA again after a long hiatus (Ever since the Sacramento Kings lost to the Lakers in the 2002 conference finals). I started following the NBA again because of this man and I am not sorry. He's a joy to watch, because he plays this beautiful sport exactly as it should be played. All people who enjoy basketball in its purest form should enjoy watching him play. There won't be another one like him in a long time.

What's cool to me is he waits just a second or two until the defense coalesces around him before passing AND he has them off balance for just enough time that his teammates can take their three point shots leisurely. His between the legs pass? Brilliant!

Nikola Jokic is the most interesting player to watch.
He brought the fun back in basketball. You just never get tired of watching him do those stuff. He is so deceivingly good. That's why fans call him the Joker.
Jokic is going to have such a big group of former teammates there in person when he is one day inducted into the Hall of Fame, he loves getting his guys the ball if they stay active and cut to the rim. One of my favorite things is just watching the guy who is supposed to be defending Jokic in awe or immediately going to yell at the ref because the pass was so perfectly done. Also missed my favorite one against the Clippers when they had him triple teamed in the closing seconds last spring, and he goes across the court straight into AGs hands for an open game winning 3.

I mean I'm a Nuggets fan so this might sound biased to some. Jokic is already a top 3 passer all time. Any position not just center. He's 7 years in. An it already takes a 30-40 minute video to watch his best passes. End of his career this might be a solid 2 plus hour video of insane 10 second clips. If that happens is he the best passers of all time period?
I watched Pistol Pete, Magic, Stockton, Jason Kidd, Nash, LeBron... Nobody comes close to Jokic, he's on another level
@@brianbadonde9251 Magic, Bird, Pistol Pete I'd say are all in same conversation. An obviously Stockton didn't have the flair but he did know where and when to hit people. I'd say currently Jokic is in same convo with those 4 guys. An I never can say unless it's one guy that's just clear cut better. To me to say who's the vest passers you have to be open to kinda saying these 3 guys are all equal...

Dude in his 8th year got more assists than Blake Griffin, Lamar Odom, Marc Gasol or Al Horford, players that were considered as great passing big guys, and his doing this in absolute nonchalant way.
this guy is the only player in NBA right now that shines when everybody in his team shines. This is a true team player.
This is pure poetry. Jokic does the most efficient thing, every single time. He is bringing a breath of fresh air to basketball, reminding everyone that it is a team's sport, where the collaboration is fundamental. Passing is always underrated in the NBA, and individual skills are overrated. Who cares if the dunk is done from the top of 12 feet or 13 feet jump? What's important is that the team wins, not the individual.

What a savant Jokic is! The announcers all say “oh my!” because most of these passes are just so unexpected by everyone in the arena, even them. It’s a testament to the togetherness that the Nuggets play with cuz they’re the only ones ready for it.

Nikola has a unique intelligence that allows him to assess the situation in hundredths of a second and, in the same hundredths of a second, make the right decision. And, of course, he has a great technical skill. But, if the second can be learned, then the first is from God. Nicola is unique - there is simply no other basketball artist like him.
You could make an hour highlight of just his passes to Jeff Green and Aaron Gordon the last 2 years.

Every once in a while you get the privilege of watching a player so skilled and intelligent that after a while you don't even freak out when he does stuff like that anymore. I see another one of his incredible no-look passes or one of his ridiculous one armed full court passes and I just start laughing cause the dude is so fucking good at basketball its mind boggling.
To have a literal 30+ minute highlight video of beautiful passing from a big man who can also score with the best of them is evidence that the game is in a good place.
