$4m MCLAREN SOLUS GT! Brand New V10 Hypercar REVEALED and First Look Walkaround
McLaren have pulled the covers back on the brand new Solus GT! This is a $4m single-seater solo hypercar limited to only 25 units that are all sold out before we've even seen it. The Solus GT brings the Vision Gran Turismo concept to reality, a first for a car from the game! Let's check it out.
The Solus GT has arrived as a surprise to the world after being discretely known as BC-08 in recent years during the development. It's unlike any McLaren to date in so many ways but will offer an absolutely extreme race track only driving experience. Solus GT gets its name from the solo nature of the central seating position beneath the canopy and the GT connection after being first launched as a car for millions of racers to enjoy from the Gran Turismo gaming franchise.
The Solus GT features a heavily bespoke Judd 5.2l V10 engine with 840hp and 489lb-ft that can scream to over 10,000rpm, weighing only 1,000kg and also able to produce 1,200kg of downforce. The aerodynamics are extreme, the visual presence is incredible, and it seems like the experience to drive one will be breathtaking!
The launch of the McLaren Solus GT has taken place at Quail: A Motorsports Gathering 2022, quickly becoming a perfect venue for the introduction of some of the most exciting cars in the world.
Thanks for watching, Tim

Crazy to see a V10 powered McLaren. Would be epic if more automakers made actual production versions of their Vision GT race cars.
I would LOVE that ❤️❤️❤️
BMW will in 2023 !
@@gedam131 which car?
@@falcongamer5867 The hypercar for Le Mans. it will be extremely low volume though. I wonder, how many humans on earth can afford cars like this? How many WANT cars like this? So many 2-3 million dollar hypercars does not seem sustainable... These brands must be losing money at some point
It will be like the future, but now, damn! Can't wait to see how the rest of the automakers respond
I would love to see a race between this and an Aston Martin Valkyrie and a Mercedes-Benz AMG 1. That would truly be the ultimate Trio!
May be bolide too....
And the Huayra R and Lambo Essenza SCV12. Imagine the symphony of the V10 and V12's, it would completely drown out the sound of the AMG's 1.6 V6.
Amg 1 just doesnt cut it vs the aston or this solas. The t50 race car most certainly does though.
@@divyanshusrivastav3706 those bugatti's are awesome, but heavy. They could not compete on a track vs a solas or aston.
it would be a toss up between this and the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro . The Mercedes is simply too heavy.
Love the McLaren logo shaped vent on the rear deck 👌
Car looks insane, 840hp from a V10 is pretty amazing. The only thing is that there’s no trace of Mclaren in it
Where is the v10 from?
@@philipwild9134 Judd V10, very popular engine. A low effort kitcar imho
Well, technically we can say it's the first McLaren to be an OEM kit car
I thought it was a really good looking car and the inlets using the McLaren logo is kind of neat.
It’s great to see Gran Turismo’s VGT cars become real
Still loook like a kit car 🚗
Let's hope that synthetic fuels become affordable to the general public within the next 5 at most 10 years. Cars like this need to continue being designed and produced! With Triple F and Manny getting one, you'll hopefully be able to get a look/drive at some point in the future when over in the US 🤞 Great work as always, looking forward to the rest of the videos yet to come!
They will. Synthetic/biofuels and hybrids are the future. Electric cars will only be supplementary.
Na everything is going Electric I work for Jaguar landrover they have a 10 year plan to make all their vehicles 100% Electric by 2030 and they have started to test prototype ev Vogues and sport models we see them in the carpark all the time with a camo wrap on them
@@themanofshadows That’s just wrong. Too many car companies have set plans to migrate over to 100% electric. Synthetic fuel will become supplementary.
@@PcarNess No, you're wrong. Electric cars are a bubble; there aren't enough rare earth materials on the entire planet for cars to go 100% electric. It's just a fad now, and soon enough, the math that everybody already knows (mining, producing, refining, and assembling batteries) is worse for the Earth than combustion cars unless they go more than 1,000,000 miles in their lifetime (study done by Volvo). Hybrids will eventually become the norm.
@@Kronos0999 Try googling that Volvo study, it says nothing like 1000000 miles. Also, rare earth metal are not rare. Lithium and cobalt do need to be replaced at some point. Spreading false claims does not make your point smart, even if it has some distant relatives of truth in it.
I'm speechless. This car is incredible. The diffusers underneath run all the way along the bottom of the car from the rear to front. The front part, the two level spoiler, the style of the drivers seating resembling a fighter jet. This is a very special car!
This one's crazy. I actually bought this on Gran Turismo. I've been waiting for Vision cars to be produced. McLaren thankfully brought this to fruition.
Manny khosbin is getting one! Will be cool videos on is channel i suppose
@@maartos He buys cars that he doesn't even drive nor knows their name. It's a business; didn't he buy that track only Porsche that one time and sold it within minutes?
@@maartos Triple f collection are getting one & they will definitely use theirs.
@@Kronos0999 He sold that one within 6 months because there wasn't a track near him that he could go to regularly. That one made sense. Same reason for selling his Senna. Apparently McLaren will be doing a packaged deal with this car where they give you an instructor and exclusive track days which is probably why he's serious about this car.
@@amazin7006 Knowing Mclaren's reliability and how they treated him as a consumer despite being one of 25 is not something that holds water.
Tim, thank you once again for going to the important automotive events here and abroad. I've been living my supercar dream through you for some time now, just wanted to let you know you are appreciated.
Salomondrin did say that Mclaren were making the vision GT into a real car several years ago. I believed him and now we're here
Although you aren’t a customer for a Solus, it would be really cool to have a video showing what spec you would personally choose if you were buying one? 👌😁
This is a extreme track car and I am sure that we see parts of this in future LT versions and perhaps a future sucessor to the Senna that is also road legal.
If someone makes this street legal, Jesus H Christ
@@MLK_Sold_Black_america_out ummm... Lanzante?
@@Akira06660
@@MLK_Sold_Black_america_out I mean not the exact car but a future two seater track focus car with design features from this car and also engine technology and technology further developed from this car into future super series and ultimate series cars. @@Akira06660 that’s exactly what I was thinking, they will find a way
Glad that two KZheadrs are recieving this car.. cant wait for their track content
It’s beautiful! Quite similar to the Aston Martin Valkyrie in a lot is ways
To me, it looks a bit like that Devel 16, have you ever heard or seen that car?
@@Ayixlia that car isn’t legit though
They lobbed this one up for GTA. "The Soulless"
I appreciate the way you introduce the cars in your videos and the way you review them thank you for the content.
A Vision GT came to life!!! The V10 engine is still alive and is being resurrected.
I'm shocked Tim didn't realize those "cut aways for cooling the engine" are McLaren logo shaped
Same!
The tail lights are logo shaped also when viewed straight on
Thanks for joining us at Exotics on Broadway. Awesome to have automotive royalty walking amongst us! Joking aside your channel is fantastic. A lot of work involved getting this posted. Thank you!
Mclaren has more “special” models than general release ones.
Same with ferrari, bugatti, Porsche and many other brands.
Not really it’s just the Senna, Elva, Sabre and Speedtail
@@DrivingGod21 what special projects does Porsche even have beside the 935 and the Heritage series (Sport Classic and targa)
@@I_4R5 918, Carrera GT, 911 GT1, every speedster model, 911R, GT4RS...
@@I_4R5 Speedster, GT3, GT3RS, GT2RS, 911 R, Heritage Edition, GT4, GT4RS, Boxster Spyder, Cayanne Turbo GT, Turbo S Exclusive, and many many more. Those are just examples of the last two or three years too. They have many, many "special" models.
I struggle hard to care much for open-wheel "racecars-for-the-road". There is one every 2 weeks from brands you never heard of. If this didnt have "Mclaren" written on it, I would have never guessed this was a Mclaren.
This isn't a "racecar for the road". That would actually be pretty cool. This is not even a racecar for racing. It's literally just a track toy for people with too much money. Can't drive it on the street or race it.
The person laughing at 8:09 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It reminds me of ASURADA GSX from the anime Future GPX Cyber Formula
This in all black would make a good Batmobile. Specially from the back.
Better have your fire extinguishers ready LOL!
This is an obvious attempt to rival the Valkyrie, but that's a road car. The Valkyrie pro has considerably way more downforce. Is going to be way faster around the track. Interesting where did they get this engine from? The thing is, if this is going to be like an F1 car that needs to be prewarmed before you can start the engine up, it'll probably be quite tricky to transfer it to the track. If you're gonna go to such great lengths to drive fast on the track, wouldn't it be easier to just get a LMP2 car?
Going by the size I'm guessing it is either a low volume in-house build but most likely something off the shelf like the one Judd does for lmp1 and replica F1s
It’s a from Judd, the company that was supplying V8 and V10 engines for F1 and Le Mans since the 90s. Judd has been selling V8 and V10 engines for awhile now. I’m guessing this has a similar block to the V10 in Ryan Turreck’s Formula Drift Supra. They’re surprisingly underrated to the general public, although they’re the go to engine if you want to do hillclimbs in Europe.
Valkyrie is not street legal in US. Must be registered under show and display. Mileage on road must be limited. The current Pro model has only 800hp. All videos I've seen it on track make such point. Lesser model is likely down on power also. AM is likely working out some issues. The designer was not happy at the end of the project. He is on to another car but such one will be track only. Power was claimed to be over 1000hp with a TT V8. A Mclaren rep has claimed 2000kg on DF at 200mph. The 1200kg is at 150. Testing will happen some to verify such numbers.
Your very own F1 car, damn I wish I were wealthy, congrats to the lucky few who get to experience this beast!
The triple f collection bought one. I can't wait to see this beast on track. It's so exciting to see a game focused car come to lifeee!!!!!
Manny as well but wonder if any of Tim's friends will get one because the content is going to be amazing.
At the end of the video speccing theirs the teaser looks like they are getting the new open roof Bugatti too
McLaren just turned the world upside down with a V10
If it's going to be road legal I'm thinking it's going to have some changes - windscreen wiper, indicators front splitter and rear spoiler dimensions even then it's still an incredible build.
Looks like a smoother and cleaner Apollo IE... ♥️🔥
Apollo ie crossed with a koennigsegg
Let that V10 roar to life.. 👌❤️🔥🔥
Solus GT looks super aggressive🥰. Same wing as Senna GTR and Sabre
Looks like something you'd find in the Fortress of Solitude
I wonder if the p1 replacement will look anything along the lines of this and the v10 that would be amazing if they could use that with a hybrid assist WOOOOOOW
P1 successor is not getting a NA v10.
The p1 successor has to be a 2 seater, this is 1 seater. Plus a hybrid system would be heavy and ruin the point of this car... Mclaren needs a small light weight car as their next Halo. Equivalent in size and driving dynamics to the f1
@@amazin7006 yes I get that bit about being a 2 seater but I never considered the weight aspect 👍🏻 do you think that the p1 successor will be out any time soon?
That's a Judd engine, effectivly an expensive brought in crate racing motor, great engine but there V8s and V10s are used in everything from Lemans specials to single seaters and have seen them plonked in M3 hill climb cars, would make a terrible road car engine.
Never thought McLaren would make a N/A V10 car! really nice video of it.
Wow, it might be the highest reving v10 ever from the sound of it!
Busy week for you. Love this car week content
I was wondering where the step was. Smart of them to include it as a design elements. I would have loved the addition of matte black grip tape/ foot grips. Sick car!
It's actually based on the vision gt concept car that debuted in gt sport in 2017 kinda like the Toyota ft1 concept inspired the supra
Car looks insane!! That V10 does sound like a Judd engine indeed
That's insane looking!! Well done McLaren! Can't wait to hear it!
This thing is amazing. They should’ve made it street legal.
It's almost like being there. Thanks, Tim.
This is so insane but I am just alittle disappointed they didn’t include DRS in the spoiler. Awesome awesome thing nonetheless, can’t wait for a full detailed drive review.
Amazing but I have to say the Aston Martin Valkyrie looks a nicer design. Take a friend along too.
Hey Shmee, love your work!
Thank you very much
Shmee150 Absolutely Incredible Video I think the All new McLaren Solus GT looks absolutely insane and I can't wait to hear one and see you Drive one
I would love to see this race against a p1 and senna on a track
Time for Lamborghini to bring out the Egoista as 'limited model'.
The rear vents are the shape of the McLaren logo.
I thought I was the only one who saw this ! Hehe
Good for Mclaren for building non hybrids still.
Goosebumps! 😮 I’m officially EXCITED! 😍
Judd V10? This will sound as good as an LFA
Cheers for the video mate 😎 👌
The little kid in me is so happy. This is a poster car, for sure.
Now that's what a car should look like!
the v10 sound kinda reminds me for the LFA
Manny Koshbin already bought one and is test driving it!
And considering that big giant solid piece of glass I'm assuming it has a cockpit style clamshell
I cant want to see Manny's spec of his BC08. He knows how to spec a car alright!
Man this is going to sound so insane!!
That's sooo awesome cool Tim! 😎👌
Really looks like straight from a Game. Can't wait to see Manny's and Triple F Collection car videos as well.
Yeah, like 3 years later.
Manny can look at it from his desk. He is a non driver a shame this car should only go to driver's. Triple F don't do much with their cars either, but they do some driving atleast
@@Kronos0999 he literally said in the video they will drive them later this year…

McLaren Valkyrie! Hopefully we see a track day showdown!
Can you imagine what that will be like
Blimey. The first time a new car announcement has genuinely raised my eyebrows
It’s literally a video game car in real life. Looks mental.
I saw this and whould have NEVER guessed it was mclaren
Bro it opens like the 1989 Batmobile!😲
Nice. Wasn't hibachi also made (real life model I recall not a working model)
Extremely surprised it's not a V8 twin turbo like the rest, pleasant surprise though.
Hello Again, 'Hi Shmee', I have watched 'The Triple F Collection' guys being fitted for the seat in the Solus GT. Regards, RichardA.
McLarens answer to Valkyrie.
Love how the diffuser goes all the way through the car! It reminds me of the original AM Valhalla.
Am Valhalla look 1000%better this look like a kit car not ever show carbon work👎
I wonder if they plan to use the V10 in any of their other cars? Because it seems ludicrous to develop a special engine for just 25 models. If they don't GOOD LUCK ever getting parts for them at any point in the future. I would hope they use this engine in conjunction with a hybrid system. It won't be able to modified as easily as the TT 4.0 V8 but powerful NA engines are incredible.
that was going to be my post. fortunately, i read yours before i just added the same thought. imagine a v10 version of the Senna?
@@airsoftmodels I didn't realize the V8 they're using was originally developed for Nissan to use in a race car but either the class was canceled or the Nissan program was canceled. I expect them to use it in a race car that requires a NA engine to raced in the class. At least that is what I would hope they developed the engine for, because the reliability of the McLaren V8 isn't exactly renowned for being the best.
Wikipedia says Judd has been building a V10 for race cars for decades.
I get Merc F1 W13 zeropod vibes from this car
when Tim said it was gonna be a McLaren ultimate series that doesn’t have a V8, I thought it was gonna be a V6. definitely wasn’t expecting a V10!
When Manny gets his he can race this vs the Bollide and Valkyrie
Oh ❤️🔥❤️🔥 I watched Manny K yesterday probably the only one on you tube to ever get there before you 😁😁
Can't wait until lanzante begins street converting these
This thing would have its' very own triple wide garage space with glass to floor ceilings if it was mine.
This Looks like a Combination of Lamborghini Veneno, Devel Sixteen and a Aston Martin Valkyrie
Hopefully Manny does more than 6 miles in his
The Triple F guys and Manny's will be super cool to see how they spec theirs ect!
Triple F already teased their spec, Manny’s spec video is coming soon
This looks like a proper spaceship
I think manny knoshbin has one of these on order he has spoken of this recently although didn’t say what it was in any detail
That white Artura to me just likes like somebody forgotten to apply any paint. Also Shmee150 isn't completely true, Bugatti created a one-off vision gran turismo model between the Veyron and Chiron.
Imagine that brute and the Aston Martin chasing each other on the green hell...there's an idea for a future video....think you're probably the only person that could set that up....
I thought they finally made the Devel 16 for a second there.
So I looked up the Judd v10, and apparently there’s a 3000km engine rebuild interval 😬. I mean I would have to assume that no owner will ever drive it that much, but still.
I mean it’s a track car, 3000km is a lot of trips around a track
@@21sled that’s true, and it revs to 10500 rpm, so that’s a lot of stress on the engine internals. I guess that’s why most road cars redline at 6-7k rpm and the really bausie ones redline at 9k.
Looks like the car is bolted to the platform it’s on, when you were showing the diffuser
Now Mazda just need to make their vision Gran Turismo car a reality
You can see it sits between the amg1 and valk visually
Can't wait to see the LT version 😆
I was very excited to hear that it has a V10 engine, only to be somewhat disappointed to know that in fact is a detuned 2000s f1 engine.
Manny Koshbin taking a car out to drive?? Yeah right...around the block once a year ´to warm up those tiiiiiires¨
I feel it’s a bit of a confused car but hopefully cool
Can’t wait to see the triple f collection’s Solus gt
Finally McLaren with a new exciting engine
