Do you mean to say that, not only can you make films using actual modern CQB tactics, but you can also make semi realistic medieval combat animations where people don't just get in a line and push their shields against the enemy?Hollywood better start taking notes.

The filming was on crossroads, which was updated drastically in the recent patch, so because I wasn't able to film everything in shadowplay before the new patch dropped, the demorec replays have our characters moving around the old geography, clipping into the new terrain and what not. Basically making them unfilmable.

Heater shields were primarily used by knights who couldn't properly use kite shields while on horseback. Perhaps consider little things like this or getting a medieval consultant for future videos set in the medieval time period?

There's like 300 things we would do if we weren't limited by the game and what players have unlocked. Consultant or no consultant, we'd still need to make concessions. A: We needed shields, because if we did battles without shields, they invariably lasted 2 seconds and our formations broke down almost instantly. So getting rid of them isn't an option. B: There's literally two shields in-game, kite, or heater. (not including the parry-shields, which we cannot use) Kite's early period, and we were doing the mid 14th century, a time when idk if anyone was still using the kite shield. I know there's actually a lot of large shields that were in use at the time, but it's not a stretch to put it into this context, given that the kite shield was actually in wider use than you're suggesting. So yeah we're mostly just going with what's available and what players have, so it's not gonna be accurate either way.
