If there's one question we get more than any other it's, “What's the best Bidet Seat for my elderly parents?”. Today, we're going to talk about what to look for in a Bidet Seat for seniors. As well as, our top recommendations for seniors. My name is Daniel Johnson and I'm your Bidet expert.
When picking up a Bidet seat for senior use, you want to make sure that the remote is easy to use. In most cases, you want to make sure that the Bidet has a sittable lid and you also want to make sure that it can be tried, in case it's not liked once it's purchased. We're going to talk about these items and some others in this video, today.
Our top three recommendations are the Cascade 3000, the Swash 1400 and the BB-1000. Now, before we dive in any further, it's important to note that the Cascade 3000 is a seat that we designed, specifically due to the fact that we get this question so much.
Ease of use is the most important factor when picking out a Bidet Seat for seniors, since the remote is the user interface, that's where you're going to want to start. Coming in at third place for ease of use is the Swash 1400. Decently sized buttons, clear, easy to understand words and a red “Stop” button. As far as ease of use is concerned, the Swash 1400 is in pretty good shape. The Bio Bidet BB-2000 takes these abuses a step further. The buttons are larger, the buttons are somewhat color-coded and the layout on a larger panel makes it a little bit easier to see. In first place is the Cascade. The largest buttons on the market. The “Stop” is larger than a quarter, color-coded, large, easy to read words. From an ease of use standpoint, between the three, the Cascade comes in first place.
The second most important item is the sittable lid. If you're moving around the bathroom and you get tired, it's nice to have a place to sit. The BB-1000 comes in third place, because it literally doesn't have a sittable lid. Now, you can lift the lid up and sit on the seat, but the lid itself, if you sit on it, will likely break. In second place is the Swash 1400. It has a sittable lid, but it's not very stable and we found that if that lid breaks Brondell frequently does not cover it under warranty. In first place is the Cascade 3000. By far, the most stable sittable lid, between the three and if you run into any issues we will replace that sittable lid free of charge. To date, we've never had a sittable lid break.
When getting a Bidet Seat for senior use, we often get customers buying a Bidet Seat for someone else. In this scenario, there's often a bit of stress and anxiety tied to the fact of whether, or not the individual will use the Bidet Seat/benefit from the Bidet Seat and want to keep it. Because of this, being able to try the seat and then return it if it's not a good fit is key. In third place is the BB-1000. It doesn't come with a risk-free trial at all, but it is the less expensive of the three options. In second place is the Swash 1400. It comes with a 30-day risk-free trial, so return it within 30 days for a full refund. The Cascade 3000 has the lowest return rate out of any of the seats that we sell and we offer a...

  • Your videos are the best for discussing bidets. Not a lot of information that isn't needed/confusing or the age old "would you wipe dog poop off your arm with a piece of paper?" This video touched on a subject that a lot of us are asking, thank you. The more I watch your videos, the more interest I have in a personal bidet. Can any plumber install one that has warm water. I do love my heated toilet seat, nothing like sitting down on something warm when it's cold outside. This is what makes me think if I try this I'd definitely want warm water and a heated seat.

    • The trickest part is getting electric. If you already have electric near the toilet, about 95% of our customers install these on their own in about 15 to 30 minutes.

    • @@ManyBidets Thank you, the toilet is next to the sink and there is an outlet above the sink. Old house very small bathroom, no heat in this room. Your Cascade would probably be my pick for myself, does it ever go on sale?

  • Can an install include two control units for the Cascade 3000? One for user one and a for user two. The two users in our house would have a serious issue without individual presets.

    @georgekabacinski@georgekabacinski2 жыл бұрын
    • User presets is a great suggestion, and something we hope to include in our next version. Currently if you try to have two remotes connected at the same time, you'll confuse the seat as it won't know which one to look at. Because of this, it's really only designed to work with one remote. It will currently default to the last settings used. Thanks for the feedback!

  • Is there a suggested methon on how to modify or set up the bidet with a Toilet Safety Rail (with out the riser)?

    @user-fk6ci5vk6v@user-fk6ci5vk6v11 ай бұрын
    • You'll want a rail that doesn't have a bar in the back. Here are some rails that would work: www.amazon.com/Drive-Medical-Stand-Toilet-Safety/dp/B004PYZD18/ www.amazon.com/Hybodies-Elderly-Handles-Adjustable-Anti-Slip/dp/B0BQQTW3WR/ www.amazon.com/LGLFDJ-Handicap-Bathroom-Stainless-Anti-Skid/dp/B0BPHSMH4W/ www.amazon.com/Handicap-Stainless-Bathroom-Handrail-Handicapped/dp/B0B5RDLJV5/

  • Hi Dan, hope all is well in your world. Going on vacation and want to know should I unplug while away for two weeks? No one will be using while away. Thank you and appreciate your advice. Your last advice was extremely helpful!!! I very much appreciate your educating us with our bidet!!!!!

    • Thanks for the question! It's entirely your call, but a lot of people do unplug their seats when leaving for more than a week or so. We also recommend turning off the water to the home to protect from leaking

  • Hi Daniel, I am cleaning my wand and the door on the left side that hides the BB2000 wand looks like it has snapped off and won’t securely attach any longer. What should I do?

    • You would want to reach out to Bio Bidet directly for that, and if it's under warranty, they can send you a replacement free of charge. Otherwise, they will likely bill you for it, but it shouldn't be pricey. They can be reached at support@biobidet.com or you can call them directly at (847)458-2334 between 9 am and 5pm CST Monday through Friday. They can be a real challenge to get ahold of, and get help from, so you'll need to stay on top of them to get the part.

    @billdrinkman5289@billdrinkman52892 жыл бұрын
    • They all have dryers, but the dryers will take a while to get the job done. Dryer effectiveness: Best: Cascade 3000 Second: Swash 1400 Third: BB-1000

  • Are any of the seats heated and how long is the dryer parts stay on

    @virginiamartin3185@virginiamartin3185 Жыл бұрын
    • All of these offer heated seat!! The dryers run different lengths of time, but generally any of these will have dryers that run for at least a few minutes. You can always run a second dry after the timer expires as well should you desire to do so.

  • Rather than another remote, are there models with built in controls?

    @kaythegardener@kaythegardener10 ай бұрын
    • There are seats with side controls, but we do not recommend these for seniors, as it requires a lot of twisting and turning to see and operate the side control. About 99.7% of the seats we sell are seats with remote controls. Keep in mind the controls mount to the wall, so you don't have to worry about the remote becoming lost.

  • My wife is 295 lbs will sittable lids support this

    @jamesbrinn9701@jamesbrinn97012 жыл бұрын
    • While both the Swash 1400 and the Cascade 3000 have sittable lids, the 1400's lid is not very strong, and is not covered under the warranty if it breaks. I would not sit on the lid of the Swash 1400 if you're over 250 pounds. The Cascade's lid should be no problem at all. I've never seen a Cascade 3000 lid break to date, and some using it as a seat have been well over 350 pounds.
