If she IS fixed just always make sure she doesn't start to get stinky breath, if that happens, get her kidneys checked immediately, otherwise she's probably ok. Your kitty is ADORABLE! My cats had the exact same smelly poop issue until I switched over to KatKin. Highly recommend! I can barely even smell their poop anymore. Also I use the Petkit Pura Max litter box. It was quite expensive, but it honestly is a godsend!

I lost my last cat in the summer of 2022, and still, STILL, I find his fur occasionally. He was a champion shedder…although now, finding the errant hair makes me smile, because it’s like a little “hello” from him up in cat heaven. Cat hair’s also kinda great, because you can always spot another cat owner out in public, especially if they’re wearing black😂 The lil orange heart on her right side also reminds me of my late kitty, he had a black heart on his right side, too. She’s gorgeous!

She is simply searching for her spot on your sheets. I'd suggest you get a fuzzy plush blanket and put it next to you on the bed. This will become her new sleeping spot. It will also help her relax because cats like kneading soft blankets before sleeping.
How funny is it that as I'm reading about them kneading one of my girls is literally kneading my legs under a blanket!

Yes, do consider getting a 2nd cat. The new consenus is that cats do better with another cat for company. Junior is adorable. You are good cat dad!
A year ago I went to a cat shelter (in Germany) to adopt a cat. They only gave them in pairs of two! They only allowed rare cases of cats that don't get along with other cats to be adopted alone. So now I'm mommy to two furry boys. It's great to watch them interact!
I have three cats and I agree! Watching them bond and groom each other is so heart warming 🥰
Just wanted to say that not all cats do well with another feline around. My kitty is very much an "only child". There is a stray cat that my partner and I started befriending, who is very docile and sweet. Our kitty is fine with him, they even bump noses. But when he was coming inside the house, even in a very limited space by the front door, kitty developed a stress related infection. She just doesn't like other cats in her space . Kitty actually moved away from my MIL to come live with us when MIL added another cat to the house (we share one property). Each cat is different, and I think it greatly depends on their personality and their age too. So dont feel bad for not getting a friend for your current cat, and you also have to consider that your costs do go up.
I don't know you, George. I saw that video on my home page and I watched it after having a really hard traumatic evening and it made a huge difference. That's the beautiful side of the internet. Thank you ❤

Excellent review! For the stinky poops, if you have a vet that does allergy testing for cats, it might help. One of our cats had the stinkiest poops I ever had the displeasure of encountering. We found that she was allergic to beef and flax (a common food additive for the Omega fatty acids they need). After a LOT of ingredient reading, I found a couple foods that don't contain either and her poops no longer stink us out of the house. Pro tip: if animal products don't specify WHICH animal, (like "liver" instead of "chicken liver") treat it as the allergen and avoid it. I hope you can find a way to de-weaponize Junior's poo!
this is really great advice!
A lot of people stuff their pets with treats and supplements as well, and those can also be the culprit.
Thats great advice!
This. I switched my cat to a hydralised protein food (from the Vet) and after a week or so, zero issues! I was blown away.
had a similar trouble with my lovely dude Ely- he was part lynx and domestic food did not like his tummy. Fortunately i didn't have to go out and kill things for him, my local store Pet Value had a 'wild diet' food that was great for him - - -
To help the poop smell: first is always ask your vet. They will want a fecal sample to check for parasites. Since she was gassy as a baby, it may be a congenital issue in her intestines or liver. Possibly adding a little fiber to her wet food will help. (Wet food is best!) Look for 10% protein or close to it, and maybe a novel protein (deer or duck?). Possibly prebiotics, but check with your vet - sometimes they add gas if you give too much, too quickly. Trying different food is good, but give each a few weeks to really test it out. Otherwise, cover it quick, scoop after a few minutes, and hope she grows out of it. 😊
What a pleasure to watch. It’s always so nice to observe such a sweet and mellow cat, one obviously raised, from kitten-hood, by a kind, gentle and loving person.
Yes I believe their upbringing have a lot to do with their character.
She's "moonwalking" on the bed because the soft covers feel enough like loose dirt that it activates her instinct to dig ❤️
Dig and poop.
yes either that or she peed on it once and even though it's been washed she still smells it and is trying to cover it up.
Making biscuits 😊
My kittens do it as a way to tell me something stinks. They think they'll burry the scent, the same principle as the liter box.
She is also making a sleep nest.
When she's scratching like that she's marking you and your bed as hers. Cats have scent pads in their cheeks and paws that they use to rub against and label as theirs :) Kneading on the other hand is super happy taken back to kittenhood happiness and shows her love.
No, it's actually because of the cocaine habit. 😂
@@LayOffiKnoTaeBo shes just ABSOLUTELY WIRED
NOPE...see above!! (the scent glands are in the mouth not the feet!!!!!) Kneading is how they expressed milk as babies and it is a throwback to that behaviour...it is comforting to them!!
That’s not kneading. That’s what they do in the litter tray. I’ll wager there some kind of scent on there that triggers that reaction.
@@mg7021 kneading is what kittens do to mother’s breast to make them produce more milk
I live in small apartment with two cats and recently bought a Litter Robot 4 for them. Expensive af, but a GAME CHANGER. Went from smelly to nothing at all. Great support too.
Feeding a high quality cat food will also massively decrease litter box smells and the size of stool btw. The better the food, the better their skin and coat is too. Less shedding, less dander, and less fur balls as well. :)
I also have a LR4 and it’s great (which it should be for the sacks of cash). I previously had the Petkit version which I also liked but upgraded to the LR4 and am pleased I did. I use it with Everclean Unscented Strong Clumping litter and no smells. Even emptying the bin full of 💩 doesn’t smell as gross as you’d imagine.

@@altersky4060ew wtf is wrong with you
Same!
The pawing is for two reasons: The first reason is to scent mark her spot because she likes the spot and wants it to smell like her. The second reason is just to make the spot comfy before laying down! Kind of like dogs that stamp their feet, spin in a few circles, and then lay down on their pillow.
Or, like my late kitty, the reason is to wake me up so I can give him pets and (better) food.
I had luck setting up a cozy spot for my cat before she joined me in bed! Her favorite fuzzy, soft blanket works, but if your cat has a cat bed she likes, try putting that next to you in bed!
It's also because they like to sharpen their claws
@@leahswan3178Claw cleaning behavior looks very different from digging behavior though. They tend to prefer harder surfaces for claw cleaning as well, such as cardboard, wood, or rope scratching posts. They need a harder surface in order to help them strip off the outer dull layer of their claws to reveal the sharper new layer underneath.
Aww that’s cute😭

The scraping on materials/sofas/beds/blankets is often associated with “nest-making” 😍😺😻😸
Or to bury a dump.
@@Herr_Jehmineh yeaaahhh was about to say that - our cats only do that to cover a nugget/wet spot of their making. Hope the comforter is washable.
Or ... to cover up food that hasn't been finished. One of my cats has a feral streak*, and constantly scrapes on the counter or floor where she eats to cover what's left in her bowl (and in her step-siblings' bowls, as well). She sometimes manages to pull a piece of paper, or a poorly placed (by me) kitchen towel over her bowl. *Solitary wild cats do this to cover whatever they haven't eaten of their prey, so it's hidden, and they can return later to dine more. (I live next to the mountains in Colorado, and have come across partially covered fairly fresh carcasses, and you know that mountain lion is planning to return, so you don't want to hang around....)
If Junior has never used your bed as a litter box, and hasn't left partially eaten food there to return to later, then maybe this is a phantom habit ... like she thinks -- or feels -- there's a litter box or food she's deposited there, even though there isn't. 🤷🏻♀️
This. Digging - see poo comments -- is there a bad smell? Or nesting.
I love that she has a heart on her side! She's just "making her bed" when she scratches at the bedcovers.

Three weeks since I adopted nine week old Woody from a shelter. We are still in the process of learning the good, bad and ugly. Thanks for your video.
fantastic cat name
@@melinoess Thanks
It is not respectful to make a cat get used to "poking and prodding". Making them deliberately uncomfortable or annoyed does not earn trust and respect from them either. We shouldn't be doing that to them anyway if they do not enjoy it. If we conditioned humans this way, it would be considered abuse of a baby.
@@melinoess I'm a lifelong cat owner and currently have a kitten, not that it's any of your business to know. But since you decided to make assumptions, I will correct you. You and I just have very different views of the world and life. I despise conventional medicine, including conventional veterinary medicine. I avoid the vet like a plague and focus instead on preventative measures and holistic practices. If my animals need to have something done, then fine, just do it. They will get over it. No need to torture them for a random moment they may or may not encounter in life. But to normalize the disgusting vet ritual, most of which is not only unnecessary, but actually harmful to the pet, is not okay and should not be advised to new cat owners. A cat raised and socialized properly with respect and trust is a cat that can deal with anything and have the confidence and resiliency to overcome any short lived inconveniences in their lives. I use desensitization for many types of training and aspects of a cat's life, but not when it comes to their physical body and space. They need to be respected.
See, this is how it should be done - adopting, NOT BUYING..
Our kitty constantly walks along our railing like yours! We've given up trying to stop her, as she really enjoys it and there's at least carpeting on the stairs below. She's a true daredevil!
maybe try a cat tree if you don’t have one/ have enough space? might let her fulfil her climbing needs safely!
What about putting carpet or other materials on the railing itself so it’s less slippery and safer for them?
9 lives out of 9 lives. Great review. Would watch again for treats.
The kitty deserves a 5 star review.
I have two cats sharing an open litter box. I have a Honeywell HEPA/carbon air cleaner running 24 hrs next to it. It draws all smell and dust. My apartment now has normal dusting needs and zero smell. It also draws a lot of loose fur into the pre filter which vacuums easily. She is a great companion and friend.
this video and this comment has aaaalmost convinced me to get another cat... despite my allergies and super sensitivity to litter boxes.
I'd consult an allergist to see if medication would help you. Most people are allergic to cat's saliva on their coat. Dander is next on list. I have a Honeywell HEPA filter and it's amazing how much it reduced litter box issues. @@mira-sturdivant
link/product name of the HEPA filter would be helpful
There are three HEPA filters and one carbon pre filter that can be vacuumed clean. Don't wet them. I replace the pre filter every three months as it gradually loses the ability to absorb odors. The HEPA filters last me two years as I take them out side and tap them clean. Your mileage may vary.
You need an active carbon filter for the smell, HEPA filters alone won't do anything to smells, they're for small particles like dust.
My cat just turned three. They're truly precious creatures and I wouldn't give her up for the world.
I had a kitten as a child who did the same thing with the stair railing - it was terrible, lol. Walking back and forth, trying to catch his tail. He actually fell once, but seemed to be okay, thankfully.

Cat fur is a badge of honor. I grew up with cats, and there is a reason they aren't afraid of heights. They can fall remarkable distances onto uneven surfaces and come out unscathed. Junior is beautiful. Thanks for sharing! ❤️ Also: love your accent
Actually, one more thing: cats adore being high up. I think it's so they can look down on us. :-) So even if you move into a single level home, be sure to get her something she can climb up!
@@tolkienfan1972 though I agree with you mostly, my grey boy got so comfortable on railings that he'd fall asleep on them. He doesn't do it so often anymore and I can only assume that's because he had a bad fall at one point! So they are super skillful when it comes to landing but not so much finding the right place to doze off.
While cats are designed to survive heights it's not infallible! We got a kitten when I was a child that ran right through our stair railing and fell to the bottom. She broke her paw, even though she landed on carpet. I would always advise safety, especially when they're young.
Hi Tolkien Fan! I am one as well 😊
The thing about cats and heights, is that they know how to turn mid-air in order to land safely. That means that it's short falls, like from that railing in this video, that are more dangerous for them because they might not have enough time in the air to make that turn.
I think the pawing action is because the soft squishy covers remind her of dirt, so it's instinctual for her to try and dig. Cats will often knead blankets too before they go to lay down, but that is a different motion. The only thing I'll say about her poo is that you might want a different litter? Unless our cats do not have enough litter in their box they always cover it up fully when they are done. We need the Arm&Hammer clumping litter so I can clean their box every day or two and just scoop it into a Litter Genie, so it's sealed up and ready to go in the trash. There was a point where they caught worms from the mice they were hunting in our old house, where they both had diarrhea, but some meds from the vet fixed that quickly.
You are among the most fortunate of men to have a cat as your friend. That was a great story!

Never buy a cat! ❤❤❤
when my tiny dogs do the moonwalk, we call it “making their beds.” they just wanna feel like they’re arranging their pillows and folding their blankets like we do, i think 😊
I appreciate that you mentioned her work ethic. That’s really the clincher for me.
Cats kneed. That's what it's called when they do the paw thing on the bed. She's getting it ready to sleep on. They do it, historically, to the ground that they'll sleep on inside to make it soft for them.

I was drinking tea when you said hairless cats look like a lung and I snorted the tea through my nose. Thanks a lot, senior.
She is magnificent! RE: her scratching at your blankets, two of our cats are very particular about the texture of which blanket is on top. We have a knit blanket that one of our cats argues and fights with and tries to pull off us, and if we bring a blanket they love from the couch, the other cat will literally pull it off the bed. You could try putting a cat bed or a small fluffy blanket on or near your bed to see if she likes that.
About six months ago, I adopted the craziest kitten I have ever had. He was going after my toes and my ankles whenever I would get in bed and his claws are sharp! He also requires one hour sessions of play twice a day. If I don't play with him, he starts climbing the walls, literally! But he's a sweetie, too. Your sweet little one is a delight!
Sounds like my Woody. Whenever I'm in bed he considers me a life size fair prey.
I can picture that cat climbing the walls 😂
that’s a land shark you got, not a kitten
Too much energy. Let him outside if possible.
@susanr5546. If you can, let him outside (if you feel uncomfy doing so, do leash / harness training or build an enclosure). Or / and adopt a playmate. Some cats are simply too energetic (like on of ours) and was only happy after letting her out during the day to expend her energy. We need to be realistic here: cats are cats, and often need more stimulation than dogs but us humans lock them in tiny apartments, alone, with too little stimulation for their brains - meanwhile we walk dogs multiple times a day. Food for thought!

I’d strongly recommend the “Furminator” cat hair brush. Really helps minimising shedding and fur balls!
Furminators aren't bad but they can lead to bald patches and damage the coat if you use them too much/often
I use furminator with my Siberian husky cuz no other type of brush can pull his cotton fluffs. And I don’t see any reason to use furminator on my other dog or my cats. It definitely works good but their fur isn’t as thick as my huskies fur so I can use almost any brush for them.
Eight animal house here! Works well for all. All types of cats and A golden retriever & GSD, i use it on all but for specific reason and not as their sole brush! it’s wonderful when appropriate! 😊
We have a Persian that was a failed show cat someone just abandoned. He doesn't shed but loves the car and adores our groomer. Sam is a little porker so when he starts to look like a sheep off he goes and is always very proud of himself when he comes home. He does NOT get the "lion cut", I wish the groomer would stop asking.
Try the Equigroomer!
George, re Junior's smelly poops, have you had her poop tested by a vet? Sometimes those tests can pick up a gastric bug, food intolerance ie milk (water only is best for cats) or some kind of a deficiency. Just might be worth getting it checked. She is a beautiful cat by the way and you take such good care of her. It would help to put your mind at rest
Very good point! ❤
Your baby kitty is 100% perfect, nothing is ugly. Love your baby soooooooo much and so cute, not only owner, watching your video making happy everyone
I just love how you care about your furbaby😊❤
One of my cats will jump into the bathtub and "scratch" in the corners lol. I think he likes the smooth feeling on his paw pads. I'm thinking maybe Junior likes the feel of your bedspread on her paw pads as she "scratches" and kneads them. She's a beautiful beautiful sweet girl🧡
I’ve got a couple guesses as well. My cat does this around his food dish before or after he eats, as if he’s unburying or burying leftovers from another meal (didn’t always do this, no idea where he picked it up, maybe he decided to “bury” a meal he didn’t like at first, but he does it fairly often now… he just did as I typed this 😂). He also does this on our bed, usually before turning around several times and curling up with us. I think it’s part of marking his territory, declaring that this space next to you is his. Jackson Galaxy is an expert on cat behavior, highly recommend. He talks about how cats rub up against things to leave their scent and how cardboard is great for that, which is part of the reason cats love cardboard boxes.
Cats like to bury smelly stuff, including food, poops…maybe have a check if there is anything smelly on that spot? 😏
@@saraoiman True, but that doesn’t seem to be consistent with his behavior, at least according to our human noses. He does it even if the bed was just made with fresh sheets (even if the mattress cover under the sheets is washed).
Totally agree! My cat does this in the bathtub, which is a slippery, smooth surface. He also does it after I feed him certain wet food (which i now call his "poop soup" cuz it kinda does look like poop, and I thought he was trying to bury it.... like his poops 😂) But to your point, it doesn't seem to be consistent behavior with only smelly things. Ive come to the conclusion that cats are just weird 🤷🏻♀️ theyre so hard to figure out lol
I actually believe they are trying to dull their claws, if you don't have a scratch post or a place they can claw on, that may be their way around claw maintenance if you are not cutting them.
She reminds me of my kitty who passed about a month ago. She would follow me around and greet me at the door. What a sweetie. ❤ cherish all these moments together.
She thanked you for taking care of her till the end and already happy with her Creator. Hope you'll be happy again, get yourself another kitty❤
I’m so sad for you, that you lost your kitty! It’s the worst heartbreak, losing a treasured part. 😢❤
She's got a heart on her side just perfect.
I got the litter robot 4 and it's insane the difference it makes. Once the tray filles up about 70% you start to get some smell, but up until then you don't. Plus as long as you keep the area in front of the litter box clean too. I work from my office at home (where his litter box is) and was using the normal scoop litter box before this and my cat took such a foul poop that I went online and bought it in that same moment. I would buy the litter robot 10 times over in lieu of scooping, how much litter it saves, and the lack of smell
I would LOOOOVE to see a "Reviewing my cat" trend take off. I'm always so fascinated watching "non-cat people" or people who have never had a cat, react to their first cat (or if a cat randomly shows up at their house & starts making demands, like OF COURSE youre expected to oblige lol) and how they describe their experience and all the weird things cats do 😂 its so amusing watching people experience cats for the first time - LETS MAKE "REVIEWING MY CAT" A VIRAL TREND!
I would watch!
Thanks for making me smile! Air sponges, charcoal deodorizers, and remind yourself that you’d rather have the honk than not have her. Wishing you both joy.
Thank you so much! And that’s a very good point. :)
Real life Smelly Cat 🎶what are they feeding you?🎶
For smell, de-worm her, even if you’ve done it before. My kitten was dewormed at the shelter I adopted him from, but sometimes the eggs can linger in their systems and hatch much later. At 6 months old, I dewormed him again and it was a game changer. Diarrhea stopped. His fur grew more luxurious. And he gained weight! If not, I’d continue experimenting with even more foods (I know you said you’ve already tried a bunch). My other cat had foul smelling poops, and I finally found a wet food that agrees with his stomach. Rawz chicken and chicken liver paté.
Make sure to read up on how to introduce cats together when you get a new kitten. I had a hard time but what worked for us was feeding them together so they associate something positive with the other cat
Happy annifursary, George and Junior!
This was the most fun I've had all week. Thanks, George and Junior!
the “trend mill” thing is a cat marking territory. it’s a way of leaving their scent behind, same as rubbing on your leg, because she loves you
oh my goodness this just put the BIGGEST SMILE on my face!!
Such a chonky tail 😻 love that you’re ‘reviewing’ you cat haha
She’s just the cutest - coke habit and all. And, yes, you do need another kitty. Meow.
This has randomly popped up on my feed, but it's such a nice video! So cute and heart-warming. 😍 Definitely get another cat to keep her company if you can. ❤
She’s the cutest! And what a big helper!
I just wanted to say how much I love the way your mind works and respect your work a lot. Happy cativersary🎉
You really are so very clever and amazingly humorous! Your delivery is the best. This whole video was perfection but how could it not be with Junior as the subject matter. When you described the hairless cat version as a lung 🫁 I had the biggest laugh I have had in days. Thank you George.
same 😂

What an adorkable fluffball 😅❤ Thanks for sharing!
