in this episode we head over to a favourite mark, the West Beach at Silloth. The preferred mark is already taken but we give it a go anyway with a stunning backdrop and sunset to boot.
Stay tuned to find out how we get on...!
As always, thanks for watching and tight lines!\

  • Yea I hear you Dave , I like some space when i'm fishing too , as much as I can get , LOL , & I love talking to the beach walkers, especially if they are local and you can glean a bit of knowledge from them, but occasionally you get someone who just stands there and chats yr head off for 20 30 mins azif yr a captive audience , and eventually i have to say ' not being funny mate but I come out here for a bit of peace and quiet' and they leave 😂😂, Your program making skills just get better and better, that was really nice to watch and learn from regardless of a blank, keep fishing and tight lines 2u2 :)

  • Good effort David , just one of those sessions eh , I’m with you on fishing away from the crowds on the best marks mind , I’d rather fish away from other anglers whenever i can and blank than fish among folk on top of each other , lots of noise and people casting over you every chuck .. great footage as usual bud 👍🏻

  • You’re putting the miles in!! I’m sure you’ll get rewarded with some more excellent fish after all this effort. Your first Silloth video got me over to that beach for my first ever ray. Just need to tick a Tope and Smoothhound off now..

  • I’ve been carp fishing for nearly 50 years and I think you have got your rig wrong I know most people do it the same way but I think by strapping your hook to the bait it impedes your from turning that’s why we use the perfection knot so hook can turn I just think it would be more efficient if the bait could move independent of the hook anyway that’s my thoughts for what they’re worth great videos as usual happy days 🥸👍

    @micksly7570@micksly757015 күн бұрын
    • Cheers Mick always interested and happy to take advice and thoughts on board. I’ll definitely experiment more with independent rigs to see what the results yield, particularly if they prevent deep hooked fish. As always mate really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment and share your thoughts and advice 🙏 tight lines 🙋‍♂️👍

  • Hi David I use to fish the mark you were fishing many years ago. At that time Silloth was famous for large bags of Flounders rather than Thornbacks and Smooth-hounds as it is now. However, the best time to fish was much the same. The last two or three hours of the ebb seemed the most productive with the flood being less so due to the strong increase in tidal flow which you get on the Solway coast.

  • Hi David, the first video of yours I watched was the time you fished Silloth and thought that you had triggered a speed camera on you way over. After I watched it my thoughts were that you really knew your stuff. Since then I haven’t been wrong, as your a credit to North East angling. Keep up the great work mate.
