I don't know what's happening at Honda lately. The '18 - '22 Accord 2.0T was so good and quick followed by the very tepid 204hp '23 Accord, with no upgraded engine option. I don't like their new direction. This Prelude looks good but if they don't inject some seriously needed power under the hood, they would be making a huge mistake in my opinion.

  • I always believed this was gonna be an EV but you telling me this is a hybrid and mentioning the possibility of an SI or Type R had gotten me really really interested in this. Man, I want one so bad right now. This car is so stunning. One more thing: given this and the Prologue have that new lighting set up at the back, and the lights on this Prelude look different from the 11th gen Civic and Accord, is it possible that this is a foreshadowing of Honda's design language for the 12th gen cars? Will they start spelling out Honda at the back of all of them? Hmmm

    @justincredible1990@justincredible19906 ай бұрын
    • I feel the bar taillight on the Prelude is awesome. I think they based a lot of this body from the 10th gen Civic coupe, so I think the bar taillight naturally stayed with the body design. I love the look of the lights on this, especially how they brought the bar light design to the front. If this thing is a hatch, whewww. I've wished my 10th gen coupe was a hatch sometimes, because I've always felt that a hatch on a coupe looks so good, plus with how practical they can be. I feel this is what the 11th gen Civic coupe could (should) have been - but when they cancelled the 10th gen coupe, and subsequently had only the hatch and sedans for the 11th gen, I lost hope lol. But when the Integra was first announced, I was so excited that maybe they will continue on the coupe and release it as the Integra. But again I was disappointed lmao. But seeing the Prelude now, they've totally created the car I was hoping they would make. It's actually pretty cool they decided to revive their coupe via the Prelude name. This is a much better use of the names of cars than when they first released the new Integra imo 😅 But maybe I'm also just coupe biased lool

I hope that Honda continues with this tradition, despite the model being discontinued after the 2001 model year. As for the blue lights, these may not make it to production due to state laws that might prohibit blue lighting on other than emergency vehicles. In its place, nicely designed LED fog lights would really put the exclamation point on that cool looking front end.

  • They absolutely killed on the design, but it will definitely be interesting to see where it falls in between the current lineup, both in terms of price and performance. You have the Civic Si, Type R, and then the Acura Integras offerings. How will they work this one in? I would really like to see it with the Type R 2.0T + a dual motor hybrid setup that outputs around 300-350 HP, but maybe that's asking for too much.

I was planning on keeping it through the 25th anniversary of the last production year of the Prelude. Now I am torn as to whether I should sell it and buy a new hybrid Prelude or keep it and buy a new hybrid Prelude.

  • I owned a 2000 Prelude, back in 2003. I loved its classic styling, vtec motor, though it wasnt that fast. It turned alot of heads. I did end up modding it, since the "sport shift" transmission blew 3x (there was a class action lawsuit regarding this) I did a 5 speed manual swap, installed a cold air intake, under drive pullies, plenum chamber expander, eventually tuned on Crome, dyno'd 196whp/163wtq. I eventually moved to BMW and drove the m240i and now m4. I do miss my bb6 Prelude very often. I am considering a new Prelude, but this car is placed above a regular civic, and below the Civic type R. 😢😢😢. Please Honda do better, give your cars some power its 2023 and 200hp was the power of most "sporty coupes in the late 1990s.
