      @sigmaprojects@sigmaprojects4 ай бұрын
    • Now it's just MSRP creep and the manufacturers have cut out the scalping dealers to do it themselves. These are not "reasonable" prices... They only seem reasonable in light of hte last two years. $66K for a nissan Z? It was a cheap, sporty car that was the appeal.

    • @@WhoTFstolemyname MSRP creep? You mean inflation I think, it's normal for prices to keep increasing little by little each year. Also MSRP for a Nissan Z is $42k and you still get a twin turbo fun car. $65k is for the Nismo and Nismo models have always been crazy expensive. Same to look at say the Supra. Back in the day MSRP for a MK4 Supra Turbo was $56k, for the Zupra it's $55k. That's a bargain when you think about the cost of inflation. WRX starts at $32k MSRP. Civic Type R starts at $44k MSRP, which considering the big inflation we just went through it's not far off the adjusted price compared to say the older FK8 model. So all things considered they do sound reasonable, but once dealers start marking them up $10K+ over sticker that's like over 25% increase in price, which is obviously not reasonable.

Which point you’re basically paying for a whole Nother car. A gas vehicle will get you minimum 30 years with basic maintenance. Good luck doing that with your electric car. If you wanna go on a long trip, you can fill your gas tank at the gas station and fill up some extra gas cans and have that all done in less than two minutes. If you needed to charge your electric car, you’re gonna have to wait in a 30 minute line before you even start charging and then you’ll have to sit and wait at least another 20 to 30 minutes and that’s only if you pay for supercharging which is a lot more than normal gas. Plus when you get towards the end of your hundred thousand mile lifespan on your battery pack Tesla or any electric car company automatically. Send out a signal to your car preventing it from even using the full amount of your battery you will only be allowed to use 80% of your battery at the end of your hundred thousand mile lifespan and that’s as they claim to protect your engine meaning instead of you getting a 310 mile range on your car from a full charge you’ll now only get 270 but it will still cost you the same amount.. wake up people this is just for the billionaires in the globalist to finally get their way of controlling everybody in the world they get to drive they get to fly private jets they get to use all the am of the world to make their life easy while they get to keep their privacy and freedoms, but all of you need to drive electric cars that have built-in microphones and cameras and computer chips and can be controlled from a computer in the police station if you ever break the law with one click of a button, whereas a gas powered car gives you true freedom true independence if you want to work on your gas powered car, you can actually buy a book and learn how to fix your engine or do maintenance. Good luck ever getting a book about how to fix your Tesla that’s a proprietary information that they would never let you have un gas cars. Us there’s thousands and thousands and thousands of mechanics probably millions across the United States for gas cars and diesel and there are probably only a handful of people who know how to even work on a Tesla and they all work at Tesla and they’re all going to charge you an arm and a leg… so wake up people stop making this horrible future a reality. All you have to do is say no tell government to F off and to continue to buy and support gas vehicles and also share this message so that other people can start hearing this information and they can have an informed decision instead of thinking it’s so cool and good for the environment. It’s definitely not in the slave children in Africa that are collecting all the minerals for those batteries that you’re sitting on top of your electric car will tell you that it’s not worth it while they lose hands and feet and get cancer before they even hit their 20s all from the toxic effects that mining those minerals has on this planet …

    • @@blizzunt420e Way to make urself look like a complete idiot who knows literally nothing about electric vehicles. Lets do a quick run down of how wrong you are. - Batteries pay for themselves in gas savings. In all countries outside of America gas is extremely expensive because we dont sink 10% of our gdp into subsidizing fuel. Where I am its 160 on average to fill your tank. - Unless abused, electric cars should last 15-20 years before being remotely close to needing a battery replacement. - No, a battery replacement costs 15,000 dollars, a new car costs at least 40k. - By the time electric cars need their batteries replaced, we will have the resources to recycles 95% of them and the price will be substantially lower - You dont see a lot of 10-15 year + cars on the road. People constantly buy new cars, and if they cant, they want to ASAP. - If youre on a long trip, you have the time to wait, plug your car and go get something to eat. Or rent a gas car if its that much of a hassle. - Unlike gas stations, theres no practical limit to electricity supply so you can have a theoretically unlimited number of stations. Never seen a wait line for electric cars, but theres a 30 minute line at every costco gas ive ever seen. - Super charging takes 15 minutes for 100%, not 30. - Super charging costs at most 25 dollars for 0-100. - The life span of a tesla (the worst electric car in terms of build quality) is 300,000 to 500,000 miles. Gas cars dont survive past 200k on average according to statistics. - Theres no proof theyll limit your battery capacity, the battery capacity just falls. Holy shit do you know anything about what youre talking about? - Theres no engine in an electric car, theres no relation to battery capacity and wear. They do not do this. - It will not cost you the same amount, if the battery can only be charged to 80%, youre only going to pay for 80% of a charge. - Everyone who owns an electric car has their own charging station at home, so you dont pay anyways. - I agree its just fluff so the 1% can keep destroying the planet, most people agree with that. - All cars have built in computer chips. If the police wanted to they could disable any gas or electric car from the past 10 years remotely. - Electric motors have existed for as long as gas motors. There are millions of books on how electric drive systems work, trains have been electric since the fucking 1800s. - There are on average 20 moving parts in an electric car, there is more than 2000 in a gas car. They are obejctively easier to work on. - There are millions of people in the US who tinker with electric motors. ALL of them are qualified to work on an electric car if they have worked on any other electric vehicle, because they all work exactly the same. - Gas cars are objectively bad for the environment. Mining, transporting, refining, and selling gas burns fossil fuels and electricity in every step of the process. Charging an electric car uses just coal plants. - Those "slave children" you pretend to care about only when your gas cars are threatened have been there mining for decades to build the components for your gas cars, at least batteries are 95% recyclable. Maybe learn ANYTHING about electric vehicles from someone who owns, modifies, designs, or builds electric vehicles before speaking.

The FS6R has proven itself to be able to handle power up to 500 on stock internals and you could do a simple flywheel and clutch upgrade to continue that. It came down to money and the “R&D” for essentially an aero package of a car they already have the transmission in. They didn’t think it would be worth the cost because they aren’t selling the regular models as is, which is their fault for not making any and dealer markups. I worked at a Nissan dealership before going to Toyota when I moved and last I remember in November of 23 they sold under 1000. I wouldn’t be surprised if they sold under 1000 for the entirety of 2023. Really hope they change production numbers and start making some going forward.

The only place that's making a difference is a track, at which point there really isn't a point in buying a street car if you're worried about a couple seconds at best. It's depressing to me that the "sports car" is getting devolved to a numbers game with hp, and a time game for hot laps. Nobody is going to enjoy .2 seconds less in a quarter mile as much as they will rowing through gears, choosing when you have to torque, enjoying a sports car for what it is.

  • How you gonna compare manual and automatic windows to offering a manual transmission? You’re correct the automatics are great for speed but I’m a firm believer they can still just offer a manual for the people that want it rather than just not offering it. There’s something about popping my own clutch, just like I’ll never want my motorcycle to be automatic even if it’s faster I’ll keep it a standard I enjoy the feel to the machine.

  • You mention Cadillac in the 1950s. I used to own a vintage Rolls-Royce so I own a lot of books about the company’s history. It’s hilarious to read today how absolutely *terrified* they were of Cadillac in the 1950s and 60s. The European luxury market thought the US were the ones to beat until we started making wafting couches in the 1970s.
