George is soft-spoken, honest, and funny.
And humble, too. I thought his songwriting was as good as anything by the other two.
Except for when he was lying to his wife, and cheating on her constantly! In fact, he cheated on several women. As it all the Beatles! He would tell his wife that she was being paranoid even though he knew that he was sleeping with other women. In today’s culture, probably get him canceled as would have Lennon been with his filing to help us and hitting women, etc..
Highly skilled and humble. Brilliant man ❤️
🤔
@@michelez715 yeah he wasn't appreciated enough compared to them.
What a genuine lovely chap. Much missed.
As a band The Beatles are just great, but on their own, they’re such strong interesting men, it’s no wonder as a group they were so explosively good. Not all famous musicians have so much going for them.
But what about Aspel?😂
Ringo is a seriously funny man and George was an all around good guy. LOVE The Beatles and Needless to say, their music will live forever.
Starkey is about as funny as a fire in a cancer wing
"Needless to say..." then says it

I sure had a crush on George as a teenager! He was a nice man! Love ya George! Rest in peace! Love from an admired fan starting in 1964! Love, wendy
Wendy. I also love George to bits. I remember the day he died. I was on a treadmill in the gym at about six o clock in the morning as he died overnight in Los Angeles. I was. And still am distraught because the world has lost a beautiful man.
@@Linda-oh5dt I agree, he sure wrote quite beautiful songs, Something, Here Comes The Sun, My guitar gently weeps! We have good taste Linda!
Your right!
I've seen this clip twice, & it's still as funny as the first time round! Ringo is awesome, funny as hell, & George was fab, too. He's also a jokester when he wants to be. Good to see this film again. Makes ne love them even more! 😅❤
You can feel the magic or chemistry coming off these two together. Can you Imagine all four of them together reminiscing?
They didnt want to meet!!!! Stop dreaming.

They fell out and spent half their time bickering.
Really?? You didn't get the feeling that the ringer was like a bit annoying to George!?

Being such a George enthusiast, I can't believe I had never seen this video before, so this is a real treat for me! From the moment I first heard their early album, "Meet the Beatles", I instantly fell in love with George. Fun memories of Ringo too...he's hysterical! 💝
I'm just seeing it now for the first time and I've been a Beatle fan since 1964. It's fun that even after all these years there is still new to me videos.
What a sweetheart George is ❤
"I'm an insomniac mainly. When I'm not an insomniac I sleep."
Still love George and his song's and quick humor. Miss him ❤❤❤.
From Morocco thank you George for your musical legacy and your beautiful and influential personality and your kind and humble soul , RIP ❤🙏🤲
What a great interview with George and Ringo. Ringo you are funny and George your a wonderful man. Love you both so much. Thank you for all the wonderful years of music . You were the greatest band of all time. Love and miss you so much.
This is really gold. Ringo was absolutely hilarious and George is always just fascinating to listen to. I love all 4 of these guys and I miss John and George.
💯
4 very different personalities just worked together and created some amazing music that will stand the test of time for ever.
So sweet George Harrison , i will love you forever ❤
I am so happy this interview was made.. having seen several US interviews i really see the difference English humour and talking has. It feels like both George and Ringo really expressed themselves with Aspel, who was great. It's funny to be so many years on and feeling the same sense of identity to them I had as a teenager.. timeless wisdom from George. Spiritual guide for me for many years. Thankyou.
Those fluffy 80s hairstyles! Loved George Harrison...
Ringo was like a comedian/storyteller. So naturally funny and irreverent.
You mean relevant?

Two beautiful people. And the legend that is Michael Aspel.
Aspel was a very good interviewer.
👍🏻😎🎵🎶🎵🎶 and thank God they got back together and gave us three Beatles songs again hallelujah amen🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I (we) owe infinite gratitude to George for having composed (with a few others) such a genuine gem like "It's all too much"... a song with no space and no time which sends me To the origin of our universe and brings me back on Earth in just a few minutes everytime I hear it. In '88, beneath the glow of lights so grand, Michael Aspel welcomed legends, a revered band. George Harrison and Ringo Starr, hand in hand, Their tales of glory and friendship, forever stand. Aspel, with his gentle grace, led the conversation's dance, As Harrison and Starr reminisced, in a nostalgic trance. From Liverpool's streets to fame's exalted stance, Their journey, a testament to music's enduring romance. With laughter in their voices, and memories so clear, They shared the joys and sorrows of a bygone year. The Beatles' legacy, ever precious and dear, In Aspel's interview, it shone bright and near. In '88, a reunion of souls, so profound, Aspel, Harrison, and Starr, their stories unbound. Their bond, a testament, forever to astound, In the hearts of fans, their melodies resound. So let us cherish that moment, in history's embrace, Aspel, George, and Ringo, in a timeless space. In '88, with wisdom, humor, and grace, They reminded us of music's enduring place.
George my favored beatle as german for a lot of reasons. Great humor, music mind and deep spiritualitiy. What a human! ॐ
One of the best post-Beatle interviews there is. Michael Aspel was a great interviewer - and a great listener
Ringo. Quick witted as always.
And so drunk 😂 entered rehab later that year

By far one of the best beatle(ish) interviews
Yes. McCartney and Lennon were both cocky, and very aware of their status. George and Ringo stayed normal.
What a great interview. I love the great George Harrison RIP, Ringo Starr, and The Beatles!🙌🏻 Would have been amazing if Paul would’ve been there as well!! Thanks for posting.

Just gotta watch it again... ennnd make a cuppa tea.
Do you have PG Tips by chance? I'll have a cuppa if you do! Ringo is hilarious & a great entertainer. George is my favorite BEATLE ❤
He was a great singer and guitar player
Of course, to John, Paul, George & Ringo being The Beatles was just a part, a huge part of their lives, but from the inside , all the bad stuff as well, that only those four guys could experience. To the rest of us Beatles fans, who can only ever know it from the distant out side, can you imagine what it must be like to be able to say, as you pass through your life, that I was one of The Beatles, I was a Beatle, the greatest most influential pop group in the history of popular music. Try to imagine being able to say that to another person, and for it to be true. Mind blowing.
The Best Interview I Have Ever Seen! Two People you Love So Much, being Real. George's reaction to John's Death, Blew me Away! Still Trying to Digest It! RINGO was RINGO! Love him just as Much!
Had to be a wonderful time to be so young, creative, and alive. I have been in crappy bands I have fond memories of. Time is a cruel companion of life that takes away everything but makes way for others to relive our aspirations and dreams.
Well and profoundly said.
I miss George, .. Love you Ringo~~~
This is one of my absolute songs!!!!!!!

Don't we all love this gentle man and beautiful soul. ❤️ Greatly missed by all that loved him. His music is very special.
Love you George! I would have noticed you anywhere.
I still love them as much now as I did back when they was FAB
This is amazing 😁😁
They were funny, all of them!
At the start it was mostly John And Paul and John was reconized as the leader of the Beatles. GEORGE mades some great songs that were some of my favorites during the beatle years then when they broke up all things must pass was made and all the great music from George started to come out and Ringo too
27:55-28:26 - the irony of george’s comments here are that the beatles had a new #1 single (now and then) in 2023, many years after john and george died.
Very sweet! Thank-you!
Love these two
Nice interview. Never seen this before.
THANK YOU!
What a life the four have lived. I'm 67 now, and I am still amazed by the impact they made to mankind. I truly belive that there is no such thing as accidents. Everything has purpose and there is a reason for it.The Beatles had purpose and changed the world by powers we not yet seem to understand. My world has been better because of George, Ringo, Paul and John just some kids getting to hang and do what they liked. Magic.
So sweeet
Always thought that Michael Aspel was the best British interviewer
On the last & newest song, RINGO GOT TO SING
In its own way this is a compelling take on it all
George was very good friends for thirty plus years with some dude named Robert Zimmerman. Just read that in a book and it blows my mind. Bob moved from Woodstock to Malibu in’70 and raised his son Jacob down the beach from Linda Ronstead
Huh?? 🤨What of it?? Who is "Bob"??
You really don't know that's Bob Dylan? Where have you been?
ALWAYS WILL REMAIN A UNIQUE LOVED MUSICIAN.❤
I love Georges Dylan reference at 14:59, 'im older than that now'

They didn't cover the traveling wilburys so that must have happened a bit after this was filmed. Amazingly the entire album of the first traveling wilburys album was written and recorded in 10 days.
I'm pretty sure this interview was in 1987.
@mrditkovich7198 in the description it has 1988 but if it was it had to be before april of 1988 so 1987 is probably right.
Just like watching two old friends, having a relaxing chat. They should have had cups of tea. Ringo was chain-smoking (something) by the end of the lovely interview, and we are lucky that he is still around. George was a heavy smoker for many years, and he died from multiple cancers. He was very accepting of death, believing that the soul continues after we die, so the end of this life is not the end of life all together. Comforting.
@randilevson9547 yes, very good interview or conversation. George had a good view of what's next. I always liked what lennon said , its like getting out of one car and into another one.
Yes it was, this amazing interview was before the TW came up to notice but very probable, the conversations had already began.
Love these two ledgends ❤
It is rare when you have a band that breaks up and then all the members have successful careers.
I love him xx
George was only 44 yrs old! 😱 (Original air date: 3/5/1988)
I didn't get to know the Beatles very much. It was devil music where I came from. I saw the Ed Sullivan show though, after church on a Sunday night at some friends' house. I liked them, and I heard them on the radio. I did like Ringo the best, as I later saw some of the movies and TV performances. I distincty recall being in the yard (garden) in a patch of pansies in Jonesboro hearing I Wanna Hold Your Hand. It was always my favorite. Of course, most people my age never understood the lyrics to later songs, as I do now. Some of the lyrics now to all these wonderful treasures of the music world are almost too overwhelming with sadness now with understanding. And believe me, I recognize you all and your children when I see you in the videos. About the time of my first divorce I began seeing myself looking back at me in almost everyone. Especially those I have cherished from childhood, I know you all. I can't describe the love and affection and recognition inside me but it's still incredibly shocking. And emotional. Ringo was my favorite because of the drums. And my neighbor at whose home I spent SO much time played the drums. So nice to see the "normalness" of these two. I hope I remember my life always. I guess I will. Brain like a hard drive, been a double-edged sword so far. Or motherboard. Thank you for presenting this piece of history for us.❤
Love George's "now, now" admonition of Ringo at 15:56 which Ringo deserved. Ringo seemed to be blasted on something there.
All we have from Beethoven is a painting of a shiney nose. This tape will live forever.
What a cut up Ringo is! George much more serious. All 4 lived lives that were so exceptional troubles and joys.
George's view on life and death is so beautiful.
You can understand why Ringo felt close to John. There had the same witty personality
Thank you for the Life of Brian, George.
