  • I noticed that I'd wear a hole in the sole of my left shoe way before the right shoe. Taking my shoes in to get resoled I told the shoe repair guy my walk must be strange. He asked if I drove a car many times during a day which I did. The slight pivoting of the left foot getting in and out of the car many times during the day was the reason. Quite common I guess.

  • The only pain greater then a bike pedal to the shin is a scooter to the ankle. For those who don’t ride the manual scooters the handles turn 360 degrees. This means if you don’t want to ride your scooter up that steep hill then you pick it up. The wheels are to hard to control to just push it. As you carry it the scooter spins around and you inevitably get hit in the ankle with it and it hurts like fuck. I once re-opened a wound on my ankle and it was bleeding so bad I had to take my shoe off and I basically sat there trying to keep my ankle elevated so as not to bleed on my shoes. Luckily I live in a very kind neighborhood with lots of people walking so an old couple passed me and gave me some tissues that I used to blot the blood then stuck one between my shoe and ankle to hold it there and slow the blood flow. But basically moving scooters around us a literal pain. Even more so then getting hit in the shin with a bike pedal. Harder to avoid to if you’re riding a scooter

  • The nail in the wall looks like a CG fake 1) A real nail carving through sheetrock would displace plaster dust and tiny chips, scattering the dust just below the hole, onto the nail itself, and the calendar below. No dust or tiny chips anywhere 2) In a sheetrock panel. the groove would be white inside, the groove in the video looks brownish, suggesting wood. Wood is fibrous, it would never yield in a straight line to a non-powered object 3) Is this supposed to be a time lapse? In a real time lapse you see tiny light changes (sunlight, lights dim slightly with voltage change etc) No light change at all, It's a manipulated still image 4) Who would set up a time lapse pointed at a nail BEFORE they knew the nail would "cut" a groove?

    • Yeah, if someone was scrubbing their teeth that hard, they'd be lucky to have any left at all! Looks like they've been scrubbing floors or shoes with it! Those nylon bristles don't wear down that fast. Now, I have seen them with pretty ratty, crappy looking bristles from those "power scrubber" people who scrub their teeth like they're on the last layer of dirt before breaking through to China via digging a hole through the Earth; but they certainly don't dissolve/get that much shorter! They're just less uniform and tend to stick out on every direction. That's why a lot of companies use bristles with colors on the bristle tips. A well-used toothbrush usually has faded colors to indicate it being time to replace them.

    • Actually the impact creates micro fractures in the bone, which causes the bone to heal itself over and over again. Every single time this happens it leaves the bone with more and more calcium deposited from the healing process. Which leads to a much stronger bone. Pretty much the same idea behind lifting weights, which tears muscle fibers that in turn become stronger when they heal themselves. So you are mistaken, stronger bones in the fingers equals stronger fingers.

  • Billiards Cue’s… they’re using the wall to shape the tip. The tip is made of leather ( use to be ) and now a semi soft synthetic. You want a nice dome shape to it but they get flattened and spread out over time. There’s a convex shaped tool with a strip of emery cloth in it to shape the tip but they don’t have one so they’re using the wall. A sign of serious billiards players and using an ill equipped pool hall.

Collected and polished, it makes a sort of faux semiprecious stonelike material.

It was almost worn through on the elbows, the bottom was a bit shredded from puppies teething on it, and the color was so faded it looked nothing like its original self. But I loved it and was so sad when I finally said goodbye, which I still would not have done if my mother had not seen me in it and shamed me into throwing it away. I need to keep my house locked!

  • I live with several other family members. When my niece & nephews were little, they were extremely nosey, and would go into my room and through my stuff. That, and when I was in my room, they'd just whip the door open and come right in. I can't tell you how many times I have either found my bedroom door just hanging open, my lights on, and things moved about, or been in my room involved in one of my favorite pastimes, trying on different outfits changing clothes and such. So on the outside of my door, I installed one of those slide-bolt locks, way up top where they can't reach. Inside I used one of those hook & eye locks. Now, years later, the outside bolt lock has been moved since the original hole in the frame that the bolt slid into was worn into an oval and barely secure enough. (It's pointless now since all of them are now taller than me, and can easily reach it, and the kids are no longer so nosey and don't even bother trying to just walk in anymore. But I still use it out of habit.) The hook & eye lock inside has worn grooves into the inside of the door frame as well, and the eye-bolt itself has a similar groove appearing as shown in the rope-barrier image in the beginning of the video. Also there are faint spots in the paint and wood of the door & frame where my hand rubs when opening and latching that hook & eye lock.
