Yep, after like 2:30 minutes (and later as well at times) i was like : "so did Kvitova win with this amazing game or something ?". These highlight videos are often so random 😅
That's why they call them highlights. It's not a freaking match summary. Maybe you'd be happier watching eight minutes of missed serve returns and unforced errors.
@@charlesfaure1189 You've missed the whole point. The point is for it to be a bit more balanced, no one wants a match summary, you're reaching. Some highlight videos look like one player played his worst tennis, and the other was pure brilliance, then you look at the score and it's like 6:2 6:1.
Exactly the same thoughts... I was about to post that comment, while I found yours. There were actually some good rallies in the game where the point construction and tennis thinking from Iga was just brilliant. Obviously WTA opted to ignore them and were more keen showing these extravagant winners, without honoring the final scoreline. Almost seems like a video shot and edited by Petras parents, guess that would be more balanced too
I don't think some of you WTA employees creating these videos understand the concept of highlights. Watched the match and it was quite interesting, especially the strategic nuances Iga had in her game. Overall both played amazing tennis, and in spite of Petra's great winners from everywhere, Iga remained solid and won the important points. None of that is shown in these highlights. Highlights doesn't mean showing just winners! What a disrespect to your no.1 player. Honestly.. not all of your highlights are like this, but it's become a running trend. This is just some feedback - so you can become better, cos this video is amateur-like and not deserving of the title 'masters 1000 QF highlights'.

Why the video shows mainly the winning balls for Kvitova while Swiatek won the match? Exatly 16 points for Kvitowa and only 8 for Swiatek was shown. In the highlight I would like to see why the winner won and not how good was the loser. This is not the first time, the other highlight are skewed the same way.

I have to get selected highlights of Iga Swiatek's victories, not how well she played to win matches. Since Doha and Indian Wells, I see they edit a lot more of Kontaveit's, Sakkari game moments from many other players that fit for Iga this year. Anyone who sees the game's videos, thinks Iga lost. WTA only shows other players points and skips like Iga moves. Today against Kvitova it was like that. It loks like it was Kvitova who won the game. Respect Iga Swiatek, just as Petra Kvitova respected and congratulated her.

Iga, keep going 💪 Proud of you staying cool & focusing on every point and not rush. It's becoming clearer that your breakthrough this year is more of sense of confidence & strong self belief. I notice a visible change in the way you handle missed opportunity (unforced error) or pressure points from your opponents (forced errors). You are much more calm and patient, and you immediately switch approach to disrupt your opponents. Those are hallmarks of champion 👍 Its also clear that Tomas & Daria are doing a great job👍

Kvitova really didn’t play well. She missed at least 20 returns that she could’ve made. It was hard to watch. Swiatek stayed steady and played really well though so props to her

Iga again beat another legend in just 2 sets! She is simply quicker and a thinker on court. Petra is a lefty but that did not deter Iga to play her solid top spin groundstrokes and her serves. Love to watch Iga do her glances to the sky and before any serve. Like Rafa with the touches on the nose and other parts of the body, that is her ritual very noticeable. Could hardly wait for the semis and the final.

If you saw the match on television, you would have heard it. I heard it loud and clear from start to finish. I watched both players play and they did not disappoint me. In my opinion, it was closer than it looked. Happy that Iga won but enjoyed Kvitova's effort and gamesmanship.

I watched the match, and Swiatek didn't really hit that many winners. Her strategy was mainly to force errors from Kvitova, which she pretty much acknowledged in the post-match interview.

WTA Match Highlights, has not shown the best plays from matches won by Iga Swiatek. From them, it looks like Iga Swiatek lost, but she hasn't lost in 13 consecutive games.
Nie wiem kto wybiera akcje do tych skrótów z meczów, ale już któryś raz oglądając skrót z meczu Igi i nie znając wyniku meczu, założyłbym się, że mecz wygrała przeciwniczka. Meczu nie widziałem, ale HL zwykle pokazuje najbardziej interesujące akcje (nie licząc akcji zamykających seta/mecz) i najwidoczniej z 80% z nich było autorstwa Kvitovej, a reszta to proste błędy jednej czy drugiej.

The 8 minute edit of the match is not worth much, doesn't give you a real picture. In this instance some games were totally omitted. I really don't know when and how Kvitova lost, although I've got some idea...Why not make it 20 minutes, WTA? It wouldn't violate any transmission/production rights, I hope.

Every time she plays it's a completely different strategy. Gauff was a running machine so Iga had to deep deep into her arsenal of weapons. This was more of a chess game. Nothing flashy but smart, balanced game to pick apart the opponent.

I love everything about Iga. Cool, aggressive, good serve and return, nice attitude. I like Petra also but she is very erratic - very hard to pick her to win. She is a taller left-handed version of Ostapenko who has a second serve. If Iga is on her game she can take down Osaka, who has a bad attitude when things not going her way. But it will be very difficult if Osaka is on her game also. Even if Osaka has the advantage Iga can take it by continuing to hit her angle shots. I hope they meet later in this tournament.

If I were Iga, I would watch the video of that match and study not only what she herself did, but review some of the many great moves from Kvitova. The final scores were not indicative of the awesome plays both ladies made. I don't expect to see such a high level of play from Iga's opponent in the finals. This match between Iga & Petra was very much a ball-placement workshop!!
yeah Kvitova made a lot of good winners, but she was returning like 14 yo kid, and never had a breake point of Iga's very average serve which is very unusual, cause even bad players often brake Swiatek serve

She beat 3 top ten players in a row at Doha and faced Sakkari who she had a 0:3 h2h in the past in both tournaments. She improved herself so much and found a way to get though all that. Iga Swiatek no es una nube de verano , no es una jugadora que ganó un Grand Slam y luego a vivir de la publicidad , Iga trabaja muy duro , Iga no está a Tik Toks diarios ni a subir tonterías en Instagram , hasta las redes sociales las usa solo para comunicar tenis , encima ha dado con la clave de tener permanentemente a su lado a una psicóloga que conoce y la conoce a ella desde hace mucho tiempo y esto se nota y mucho en como sobrelleva la presión . Yo la veo una mezcla de Justin Henan y Steffi Graff , la veo imparable , solo una Osaka de verdad , la del principio , la que ganó a Serena , no la niñata con mambos depresivos y con kilos de más de estos dos últimos años , puede competir con ella y ganarla .

We may have just seen the first serve and volley singles point in women's tennis since the 1990's.
I had a feeling Kvitova had mentally given up at the latter half of the match as she knew Swiatek was too strong for her at the moment. That's why she made so many unforced errors repeatedly. Really look forward to a duel between Swiatek and Osaka in the final. Both players are very aggressive, with stunning power and speed not commonly seen in women's tennis.
